I think that was handled well by Kevin.

This is crazy! I thought maybe more people were voting because the comic finally came out and it made them more interested. I guess not. Cheating is awful and should not be tolerated. This is such a cool opportunity for the fans and it shouldn't be ruined by dishonest people. Do you consider breaking a rule that was never made by letting your family WHO WATCH BUFFY AND HAVE SEEN EVERY EP cheating and dishonest???!!!

Excellent solution by Kevin! Showing fan support in my household (me and my hubbie) looks like this: In terms of supporting the comic - I purchase 5 of each issue (okay I am a bit manic about the comics) - I have my TST Subscription (The special variation) - My local comic shop gets me the 2 regular/alternate covers (I support my town's small businesses), and - I also continue to buy the regular and alternate variant from a comic shop in North Vancouver where I first discovered the old Buffy and Angel comics. I haven't the heart to stop buying from them as they are also a family business and very nice people. Ditto for the Buffy Season 8 comics - I get duplicates of all covers and variants. .....okay, I am way older than you guys and have a bit more disposable income - Buffy and Angel are my "treats" for working hard. Plus owning the individual Buffy Seasons 1 through 7 DVD's and the Big Box package plus all the Angel DVD's - which we have watched over and over and over.... as well as firefly and Serenity (the original And the extended version of the DVD)

This note is to #9638 - the photo idea. It is a haunting image that is filling my imagination. I don't think that issue number 4 was the right cover for it. But I encourage you to enter it again, once we know more about what has happened to the team. I think they could do a great job with it. It could be in the hands of good or evil. If evil - then they are hoping to cross off more heroes. But if it is in the hands of good - then the dead are viewed with sadness (and note the play on words "tears" meaning either "rips" or "cried on" ).
Very nice concept. Simple yet can be so dramatic.

it not just that people log in only to vote once a month, i work almost everyday and barely have time to check sites like these every now and then. i do enjoy the show but just don't have a lot of time to spend on the forums all the time. hope this helps

The important thing is that we're participating in something awesome, and all the cover designs were okay (some more stellar than others, obviously). In the end, it comes down to IDW and what they think. I'm just excited to be a part of something so cool.

Well that was interesting. I'm glad it got sorted out, though. I agree with what SlayerLV said... Here's my small opinion. The votes are not to support someones ideas they are to pick the best one. I think if you really want family and friends who are fans of the buffyverse to vote they should vote for the concept they think is best, don't tell them which one is yours also.. By them doing that it proves that they are Buffyverse fans and not just your fans. I think it would be more honest to follow that ^ than to ask family or friends to register and vote for your concept. I wondered if people who submitted cover ideas would have a sort of "following" on other message boards, and ask them to support them by voting for their concept here. Again... it would be better to say, "Hey, I submitted a cover concept at this site. I won't tell you which one it is, but since you love Buffy & Angel, maybe you can register & vote for a concept you like, and get involved on the message board?"

I think there should be plugs at other sites to garner more attention to it, to bring it in, and I have no problem with people that submit ideas plugging it...but like you said, just don't tell which one you submitted. Actually, don't even admit you submitted one, just plug the cover voting.

I just want to say one last thing about this matter, that Time&Space Toys not I hold any resentment or anger towards anyone about this. Yes it was surprising (to me, as I hadn't thought of it), and disappointing. But no matter what, the rules didn't say anything about it. Which is why all sides of the story were listened to, and all bans were lifted. No one should feel alienated. This is supposed to be a fun thing for us to do once a month. So let's move past this, and get back to the fun. One thing I hope for is MORE voters, and MORE submissions! Honestly, if more non-participating SA members would simply vote, having family "support" would matter cause there would be many more voters to begin with. And the extra 3 or 4 might not be that big of an impact. So with that, I am really wanting everyone on the forum to vote. Yes, you may not ever buy the cover, and you might not care/want to. But you are spending literally 3-5 minutes to read the entries, pick one, and move on. Asking everyone to do that once a month...it should be too hard for you all. So please, vote next time! -CBG

Well I'll just say that I don't have a subscription for the comic so I don't get the exclusive covers, but I do still vote because I love to see other fan's ideas and I love to support the forum and all of the contestants.

Any word on the winning concept? Or when one will be chosen?

Just heard from Kevin. Who has just heard from IDW. They are still looking over all the submissions, and since we had to submit more than usual it is taking longer. They want to pick the one that will make for a great cover. Issue 2 goes on sale this week, with the first SlayAlive contest winner! It's so exciting! I bet we'll get lots of new members from now on, as they'll be directed here to take part in the contest. There is no Buffy related news at the moment, but hopefully we'll have something cool to talk about after the holiday season (figure wise). Anyway check out this video featuring Kevin on the news! Congrats to Alison! She is the winner of this issue's contest. We have a topic started announcing her win, along with the cover image
