Okay gang,
Check out all of the submitted concepts, then cast your vote for which you think is the best! The winning concept will be drawn by a professional artist and the lucky fan will win over $400.00 in prizes from TST!
Here are the submissions:
9771 - It is moments before the fight Angel instigated. In the foreground is a side profile of Wesley standing by the ledge of one of the blown-out floors of Wolfram & Hart. He is observing the scene below, in the street, and can see Angel, accompanied by Conner, Nina, and Gwen; all four are prepared for one heck of a battle, and facing away from Wolfram & Hart. Also, part of the Dragon can be seen behind them, also ready for battle; he may be roaring to express his preparedness. Somewhere in the rundown, ‘gone to hell’ (literally), buildings on the street in front of Angel, but hidden from everyone’s view, is Spike. Spike is ready to fight someone, or someones, but it is unclear as to whether he is rushing into this battle to fight Angel or aid him. Throughout the rundown buildings and cars on the street the faces of those Angel 'called out' are barely visible.
9750 - It's dark out. We see a street light illuminating an abandoned theater and a wrecked car in front of the theater. Spike is leaning against the wrecked car casually preparing to flick a cigarette into a puddle leading from the car to the theater. Standing in the puddle is a vamped-out Gunn looking scared to death that he may be about to burn.
9638 - We have a photo laying on a desktop. The photo shows the cast from season 5. Lorne, Angel, Spike, Wesley, Fred and Gunn with everyone looking happy except Spike and Angel who are glaring at each other. This image is ripped in several places separating each person with tears across the members who died.
9803 - It’s the back alley of the now post apocalyptic Hyperion Hotel with the sun/moon shining in the sky. As in “Not Fade Away”, a bloody, beaten Angel is facing us with sword in hand. Instead of Gunn, Spike, and Illyria he is standing with Connor, Gwen, and Nina who are also blooded and beaten. They are facing down the new challenges Angel must face off panel.
9731 - What does a church look like in hell? A shattered multi-colored stained glass window frames Angel and Spike. Both are in full vamp-face. They are turned toward each other, we can see them mainly in profile. In his hands Angel holds a medium sized wooden crucifix, the end of which is splintered and broken into a stake. Angel is thrusting the crucifix/stake at Spike's heart. We can see that both of his hands are on fire and smoke rises from them. Spike stands before him screaming with his right arm in the air ready to deflect the blow of Angel's makeshift stake. In between Angel and Spike is the crucifix's stand which has a gold bottom with a jagged piece of wood sticking up where it was broken off by Angel.
9552 - With his Soul his is known as Spike, without his Soul he was known as “William the Bloody” But with or without a soul his most notable personality traits is his lust for violence and his love of brawling. So there is no shock that when Hell comes to LA that the both sides of spike would want to come out and play. Only question is which side will the world see?:

9697 - So, okay, "Angel issues a challenge to someone-a lot of someones, actually - that he can't possibly win." I'm thinking Angel on one side - a lot of someones (beasties, demons, just all around general badies, etc...) on the other. All ready for battle and about to throw down. "Meanwhile, Spike considers changing sides as his hellish new status quo presents some opportunities he can't pass up." Who's standing at the head of the demon line? Maybe Spike... Maybe Gunn... Maybe Spike AND Gunn... A lot could be done with this, so I'll leave it at that. Let the imagination run wild
9615 - The Scene – Angel is looking down from a high vantage point (could be a blown-out window or ledge). Our point of view is over Angel’s shoulder, so we only see a portion of his face. Below him is Gunn and his team (they are in a rubble-strewn room) plus an y hostages they may be holding. Angel is keeping a covert eye on the “Gunn Team”. A new player is entering the room –Gunn’s expression – well it he doesn’t look happy – but we can’t tell if he is surprised, pissed off or just doesn’t like to be interrupted. The new player is in partial shadows – face hidden – but their clothing/outfit should give us a clue…
9623 - Scene: In the gutted remains of the Wolfram and Hart building - Angel's war room is the shattered frame of his former office. He is standing behind the crumpled remains of his old desk (some of the weaponry behind his desk is still attached to a piece of wall), Angel has a determined "bring it on look" - a scroll or contract in one hand, a sword brandished in the other. With their backs to the reader and facing Angel are shadowy outlines of several figures that could appear to be Gunn, Wesley, a female figure and someone or something wearing a shiny leather coat.
9526 - From the short spoiler in the email I envision Angel being looked down upon by the viewer. Angel is looking forward holding his sword, covered in cuts and bruises. He is surrounded, behind him you see a few of his allies closing in for the kill, in front of him you see shadows cast by his other allies closing for the same reason.
9797 - In a Los Angeles truly gone to hell, demonic creatures emerge from the ground everywhere in the city. The sky has turned to dark and a strange moon is glowing in a fire light. Angel with all his courage, fight the hellish creatures, cut some tentacles and kill unnamed monsters from other dimensions. He is the last angel on earth to rescue the human race.
IMAGE EXAMPLE:
9801 - It’s a dark night in LA, but the moon shines bright, and in it’s glow is the silhouette of a young woman. Though her identity isn’t revealed, we know she is important to Angel, because he is in the streets, just a few blocks away from the girl, fighting off countless demons to get to her. He will stop at nothing to get to this girl in question, but that doesn’t mean he cant be stopped. Angel is scarred, bleeding, and oozing all sorts of nasty. Whoever this girl is, she must be worth it!
9783 - At the center of the cover is an open palm holding an old-fashioned, gold balance/scale (the kind you see Lady Justice holding in statues). At the bottom left corner of the cover is one side of the balance, which holds a menacing Illyria, a vamped-out Gunn with his arm around a scantily-clad demon girl. The opposite side of the balance is towards the top right side of the cover. On this side of the balance, Angel is hanging by his right hand, barely clinging to the edge as well as the sword in his left hand. He is in partial profile, so we see the grimace on his face. Connor is also on this side of the balance, crouching to help Angel. Wesley stands to Connor's right with his arms crossed, unable to help on account of not having his physical form. One last major detail...the owner of the hand holding the scale. On the left side, stands Spike in medium close-up with his eyes on the balance, and trademark smirk on his face.
9234 - Spike is sitting on a throne-like chair. There's a snake crawling on the back of the chair, maybe his arms are even dangling, holding an apple (no bite taken yet but his teeth are showing). He looks bad and sexy, reminiscent of Season 2 Buffy Spike, when he first appears, and we immediately know he CAN be dangerous. It's whether or not he gives into temptation here. His feet dangle over the side, and his famous smirk is present, hinting that he knows something but he's not telling. He's looking like he's inviting (the readers) to join him. Who knows with Spike? He's got the mystery going for him.
9667 - On the cover, we see the following characters standing next to each other, from about the thighs upward: Wesley, Fred, and Gunn (in that order, left to right). Each of them is a "halfsie," though: half of Wes is wearing his suit, the clean-cut Watcher look; the other half of Wes is the "Marlboro Man," the rough-looking Wes we've seen in Seasons 4 & 5. In the center is Fred / Illyria. The right half of Fred (our left, looking at the cover) is the cute, brainy girl we knew in Season 3 of Angel, wearing jeans and a button-down shirt, with her hair pulled into a braid; the other half is Illyria, with her hair flowing outwards a bit, and with her fist clenched. Half of Gunn has the "street thug" look we were introduced to at the end of Season 1; the other half is wearing a suit and tie and holding a briefcase. There's a little bit of a glowy line cutting down the middle of each character. The background is a swirl of fire and darkness...
