This may come as a shock to most, but I'm actually happy that we haven't heard anything about Tara coming back. With the crossover coming up in Time Of Your Life, I've been worried a little since the beginning of the season that Joss may use this to please the fans, and I think most are pleased by the crossover coming up. (I'm keeping this somewhat Spoiler-Free). But the fact that there isn't talk of Tara coming back proves to me that he is holding back and keeping this season his own instead of giving us everything we want.
So, even though I want Tara back, I'm glad she's not in the comic.
Anyone else?

Hopefully this topic wont spiral out of control like the last Tara topic did, but I'm happy too. Yes, people love Tara, yes, people miss her, but she's dead, it's time to move on to new things and not dwell in the past.

A flashback or a dream wouldn't bother me as long as its not her ghost in Willow's dream saying she'll see her soon. Hopefully this topic wont spiral out of control like the last Tara topic did, but I'm happy too. Yes, people love Tara, yes, people miss her, but she's dead, it's time to move on to new things and not dwell in the past. I hesitated before posting this because of worries of it becoming out of control.

Let's just say this, I would switch her for Amy, Warren, Groo, Kate, Wesley, Fred, Gwen, Nina, Gunn, etcetc. but since we got all of them back in Buffy and Angel, another returning character would be too much.
I would like to have Tara back, but I it wouldn't be realistic or fair to the Buffyverse. I've always respected that Joss isn't crowd-pleasing(although that Joss kept Spike after What's My Line because fans liked him doesn't sound good in my ears) and i don't want it to be a perfect world.

Right, but it's okay to bring back any other character. Gunn, Wesley, Fred, Warren.
It's not matter of deaths being meaningful. Fred and Wesley's death were both memorable, tragic, and meaningful.
Joss had plans to bring Tara back in season 7. Hopefully he'll bring her back for season 8 or 9.

But I think it was Chris that told me he's not interested in writing for the comic he's not reading (although it may have been Jeff Mariotte).

But Tara was and remains The Most Wanted (we had a poll) and I'm glad that hasn't made a difference to him. And, BTW, Wesley is a huge part of ATF. Read Issue 7.

Besides they each have very good reasons for returning in the first place (as well as Fred since the events leading to her death were never explained by a credible source on the show). Wesley signed a contract when joining Wolfram & Hart, and Gunn became a vampire. Their situations are entirely different than Tara's. She was shot. She's dead, and the Scoobies have moved on.

I never said Wes isn't a huge part of ATF. I have read issue 7 And yes: the situations are completely different. But that doesn;t necessarily mean anything. Darla's death was totally different than anyone else's but that didn't stop writers from bringing her back.

So, even though I want Tara back, I'm glad she's not in the comic. Anyone else? Yes. I love Tara, but, at some point, wish-fulfillment needs to give way to letting writers actually write a story. All of the shout-outs to fans, and the attempt to write every single character that ever appeared is why I'm glad that - so far - neither Golden nor Holder are signed to write an arc for the comic. I'm happy for them that they have a following, but I can't see their work as anything but glorified fan-fiction.

I don't want Tara back to the land of the living. Simple as that. However I wouldn't mind seeing her in a few issues as a spirit guide for someone, well anyone but Willow. Tara is the exact thing that Willow doesn't need right now. Willow is happy without her and having Tara come see her would eat her up inside. Not a good thing for a VERY powerful witch! I love Tara but I think she is better off gone.

I just never really could got into their stories at all. I know though that so many people hold them in a pretty high regard as the best Buffyverse novelists ever.

I've already come to terms with the fact that I may never see Tara again.
One thing that I hope for, is that Tara doesn't get forgotten by the gang, like Jenny Calender did.
