They are making a remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street". And they are casting a new actor to play the "Springwood Slasher". I personally think Edward Norton would do a great job as Freddy. Who do you guys think should play Freddy Krueger?

Honestly--
At this stage, I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm very closed minded and do not want to see anyone except Robert Englund as Freddy. Maybe when the movie is out and I see it for myself, I might open up a little bit and see that whichever actor is chosen has done a good job. I'll have to wait for time to tell the tale on that one, though.

Robert Englund.
Oh wait...
Honestly I don't care. A Nightmare on Elm St. is one of my favorite horror movies, and I don't see anyone playing Freddy but Robert. I won't be seeing the remake, because I just don't see any way that it could work.

It will be strange to have anybody but Robert Englund play Freddy. But if I had to pick somebody, I think the actor from Saw(Tobin Bell) could be Freddy.

Yeah, Robert Englund is awesome. I don’t know why they just don’t cast him for the role. I know that he is aging and all, but they can do pretty nifty things to make you look younger. And besides you wont be able to see how old he is with the burnt skin makeup on. The new one is going to suck. They will probably use CGI and all that high tech stuff. Which will make the movie look crappy.

NO ONE could replace Robert! IF they make the remake then I will see it just to make fun of how crappy it is!

You don't know why they won't cast Englund? lol it's supposed to be a reimagining... can't do that with the exact same cast really can you?

I heard that Billy Bob Thornton might be playing Freddy. While I LOVE Billy Bob, not even he can replace Robert. I do think however that Billy Bob may do a decant job and just might just save that movie.

Billy Bob could do it, but its a bad idea to remake the movie in the first place. I mean I watch it and its still relevent so why remake it?
The hallway scene is just about as creepy as creepy can be

Ben Affleck. End of story. Id soo be watching it if he was in it:P I guess its gotta be someone slim and tall. I guess it will be nice for the new generation having these remakes just as they did Halloween.

Apparently there's a rumor that Billy Bob Thornton is in talks to play Freddy. While Billy Bob is a damn fine actor, I would still rather not see this movie even made.

hahahaah. I never liked these movies. Always thought they were stupid looking. A new cast and actor for Freddy sounds like a good idea.

The first one is the best hands down. and set itself apart from the other slasher flicks like Friday the 13th. I remember begging my mom to take me to see Freddy's Dead (which was like the 6th one lol) when I was like 5. What a morbid child I was, right?

hahahha. Yeah I've seen them. I personally don't see the appeal of these old scary movies. Yeah they're classic and all that but really they just don't interest me. Maybe it's my age or something...

The hallway scene is just about as creepy as creepy can be Do you mean the alleyway scene? OMG! That was so scary when his arms stretched out. I loved how they didn't use CGI when stretching his arms. Was CGI even out then? W/E, it doesn't matter. In regards to Billy Bob Thorton portraying Freddy, he would be way better than Ben Afflect. lol. I'm finding the new/re-imagined movies somewhat insulting to the originals. But I'm an open minded guy so Ill just have to wait and see how everything goes down.

The change of mood as she goes from a bright lit classroom to a dim basement is great! its so funny that there's a lot of buzz going about now, because not only is the OG nightmare on all the time, but Chiller network (the horror channel) has begun airing Freddy's Nightmares! Rebel without a car is on right now. its a hoot
