I kinda liked the fairy ep. It had a lot of good Jack info! I think the worst ep in season one was the one with the alien meat and the giant slug thing! Ugg.... Only one episode of Torchwood lefft this season!!

MAJOR SPOILERS: Okay big serious WOW. I have just put it all together. I read a spoiler a while back showing a picture of a woman with a sonic screw driver and it said who is she and how does she have the device. This was for the first few episodes of series 4 now i have just watched Torchwood: Series 2 episode 12, Fragments. And I saw the same woman again and guess who built the Screw Driver.......Toshiko. This woman who ever she is kidnapped Toshiko's mum and made her make it for whatever reason I'm sure we'll find out in Doctor Who. If I didn't read the spoiler on Doctor Who I wouldn't have been able to put the connection together. So this woman who ever she is goes onto Doctor Who and must try to take down the Doctor and Donna. Can't wait I'm weirdly excited that I got the spoiler the first time, my fiiends didn't know what I was talking about. Also James Marsters is now back as Captain John Hart and is the new bad guy for the next episode which I think is the finale. Oh and Grey's back:D Read this go to episode 1: Partners in Crime www.sylvestermccoy.com/newdoctorwho/You can watch it here: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b009kqfq.shtml?q=torchwood&start=1&scope=iplayersearch&version_pid=b009kqf6

Thought it was time to resurrect this thread after the FANTASTIC third season Children of Earth. I think it's safe to say that Torchwood has finally lived up to the potential it's always had. Anyone else see it?

I haven't, since I never made it past the first three episodes of the first season. But... After hearing so much positive buzz about Children of Earth, I am thinking about checking the show out again.

I've been a fan of Torchwood since it's first episode, but it's always been a bit frustrating. It's never quite known what it wants to be; the first season was wildly inconsisant in tone and quality. The second season was much better, but still not perfect. The thing is, despite being a bit rough around the edges, it's always been very emotionally powerful television, just like Doctor Who.
I think Children of Earth has benefited from the 5 episode format, because the writers had to really buckle down and create a tight, cohesive storyline. Plus, it was a lot more mature and intelligent; less gratuitous sex and more political subtext. It all came together really well, and the show's raw power and emotion was still present. It was bleak and disturbing and I loved every minute. ;D

I tried to watch the first episode, but never made it past five minutes. I've never seen any other episodes, but I wanna see the James Marsters eps. He looks pretty cool

I LOVE Torchwood!
I thought The children of Earth was bloody brilliant, expertly crafted and had a perfect balance of humour/drama/action through out.
SPOILERS
My only gripe was that they blew cardiff bay up! lol. I work in the bay so I was not happy about watching that...haha.
Gwen was great, loved all her moments. Pregnancy plotlines always seemed tacked onto things just to add a bit more drama etc but it seemed to fit nicely into the 5 parter...a favourite moment of mine being in the lorry of spuds where she tells her husband about the baby.lol. cute.
Cant believe Ianto was killed off, that was very sad and it was in such an almost pointless way...a virus released in the building. I thought hed get a bigger send off than that.
I dont know if theyll make another series though, it just seemed to end with everything disbanded, only 2 members still alive and the HQ blown the hell up, and Jack buggering off back to space. Which by the way, kinda annoyed me as the last 3 minutes, if it is to be the last ep of torchwood, was rather unspectacular, just Jack zapping back up and Gwen walking off.

I saw the episode w/ James Marsters as captain jack hart tonight. It was amazing. But then again, I don't know if I like the show in general, Or because he was in it...lol. We'll have to see!

I finished the 5 part 5 days in a row Children of Earth episodes. I loved it all - but part 5 totally blew me away. I could not sleep, i was crying about Ianto, and then about Jack's grandson, the pain in Jack's face, losing his daughter's love and respect for ever, leaving earth.
I wish they had eliminated the Prime Minister - what a sack of ****!!! Brilliant depiction of politicians and how they use civil sservants as fodder.
Gwen's video saying why the Doctor doesn't always show up -- he must turn away in shame - was priceless.
OMG - Is Torchwood over? I fell in love with this show and cannot believe it may be gone forever. I think the ending is what it would be - depressing, sad, the only glint of hope is Gwen and Reese's baby. I want to know what they have and what they call it.
I'm going to go and surf the net and look for hope that it will return.
