Anyone else a fan? I litterally just started watching it so I don't have much to say yet other than that I am pretty obsessed with it!
Discuss but please mark any spoilers so I don;t have something ruined. I am only on episode 3!

All shades of awful. I can't take it seriously after the Dead Ringers parody so successfully skewered it, either: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKrEnBmST00'So secret that we don't even know our own characters motivations!' MB x

Loved it. Wouldn't say it was better then DrWho but its for the adults with adult themes better monsters and way better eye candy I like it because you see the deaths and such its very rare you see them on DrWho.. plus Jack's whole history is good, how he came and all. Cant wait for season2 XD

Bwah! I love this show! I've watched Dr Who for ages so when this started I was uber excited, and it totally lived up to my expectations! The new season is brilliant, especially the one with our very James Marsters in it as the poodle fancying-ex love interest time agent Plus it's like the only show I get to watch before the americans....

When does it air in the UK? I watch it online and it is on every Thirsday.
I am loving the new season too but I am not loving the whole Gwen/Jack love intrest bit. Where the hell did that come from?? I hate that they just droped in this conventional romance out of nowhere when the whole point of the show is to be unconventional!
PS: I love Jack with Ianto!!

Wednesdays at 9:00, which is annoying cos it's on while I'm at St Johns Ambulance. And theres a repeat without the swearing, violence and gay snogging the next day (which I find pointless, what is Torchwood without the swearing, violence and gay snogging?) The Jack/Gwen thing was a bit sudden, but I wouldn't say it came out of no where, they had a little kiss in the second ep and a bit of UST throughout the season. Can't say I like it though, it pales in comparison to the pure hotness and awsomeness of Jack/Ianto.

I really like Torchwood but it seems to me that everyone there is Bi.... stupid. I don't like the Jack and Gwen thing. It wouldn't work. Maybe in the first season but not the second. Theres something different about this second thats kinda bugging me but i can put my finger one it.

I really like Torchwood but it seems to me that everyone there is Bi.... stupid. Do you really think it's odd? I wouldn't say so at all. In my friendship group theres quite a few openly bi or gay people, one of them being myself, and theres probably nearly as many as there is straight people. I think shows like Lost are waaaaaaay weirder, where they have a cast of about 40 people and not a single one of them is homosexual. And any way, Gwen's not bi, is she? She did kiss that girl who's name I can't remember in the seond episode, but that was just the alien sex pheromones. Oooo... it's on tonight over here! Can't wait! The promo seems to hint at in being Rhys-centric, which is good, I think he's a real sweetie

I agree that it is odd that most huge ensamble shows have ALL straight characters. I don't really think it is all that weird that Torchwood has so many bisexual characters. While it might not exactly be an acurate representation of society, I think it is much more accurate than a show with zero gay characters. Gwen and Owen are not gay/bi so it is not like all the characters are. I don't think that Toshiko is gay or bi either. I know she was with a "woman" in season 1 but I really think she was confusing the attraction she had for the way she felt around that woman for sexual attraction. That woman (who's name I can not remember) brought Toshiko out of her shell and she liked the way she felt when she was with her. I really doubt that she is bi. We know Owen and Gwen are straight and Iano was with a woman before he got with Jack. I assumed Jack was 100% gay but he apparently has feelings for Gwen ( BOO).

IMO it is odd. If they where all brought together by the job its odd thats theres so many Bi characters, I'm not knocking it. Just in normal shows there's not normally so many Bi characters. The whole Jack and Gwen thing is just odd and confusing.
Last nights episode with the alien meat was just all in all stupid. i think Touchwood has gone down hill since season 1. I'm not enjoying it at all lately. I don't think the writing is as good as it has been. I don't understand Jack with Gwen. Or Toshiko sudden attraction to Owen. I mean she just lost some one she seemed like she cared for in the last episode now its like she totally forgot about him. Stupid in my opinion. I hope the show gets better.
I don't think shows like Lost are weird in the slightest. If you take 20 people off the street more often then not the majority of them will be straight. Unless you got to Canal Street then it would be different.

Unless you got to Canal Street then it would be different. I disagree with you there. I can not quote the exact percentage but isn't it fact that something like 1 in 7 people are gay? That is why i think shows like Lost are odd. I am not knocking these shows, I just think it would be really cool and progressive if they would have 1 or 2 gay/bi characters. that way they would accurately represent our population. Last nights episode with the alien meat was just all in all stupid. i think Touchwood has gone down hill since season 1. I'm not enjoying it at all lately. I don't think the writing is as good as it has been. You are not alone. Lately, I have been hearing a lot about people who think the quality of the show has gone down hill...I disagree. I will admit that last weeks episode was pretty lame but it had some good moments in it. I really liked the bits with Gwen and Rhys. I don't understand Jack with Gwen. Or Toshiko sudden attraction to Owen. I mean she just lost some one she seemed like she cared for in the last episode now its like she totally forgot about him. People are also saying that the bit about Toshiko and Owen are coming out of the blue but Toshiko was into Owen from episode one. Remember, she was upset when Gwen slept with him. I think that loosing the guy she was in love with in the last episode made her realize that she does not want to be alone, rekindling her feelings for Owen.

Thats what i was saying though. The majority are not gay. So its only normal for a show like lost to be made up alto of non gay people instead of most of them being gay and junk. Buffy is the same. Charmed, well i cant remember there really being a gay character. But more often then not in TV shows that are not made for just the gay audience the majority of the characters will be straight.

A show does not need to be made for gay people to have a gay character. I am not saying that a show like lost should have all gay characters. just maybe um....one. That would be an accurate representation of our society. Here is a good link to an article about John B and his efforts to end hate crimes. www.towleroad.com/2008/02/john-barrowman.html

It's sad but I think some shows don't feature main gay characters in fear of losing straight/homophobic viewers.

Thats probably the reason. Or that the person who wrote it is homophobic. Torchwood's creator, Russel T. Davies, is openly gay, so he obviously has no problems with it.
Do we have a spoiler policy on this thread? Cos last night's second episode's ending was just....whoa. Followed by a tonne of shouting, crying and Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooos from me and my friends. I need to discuss!

Yay! In which case serious uber-spoilery S P O I L E R S below, in the white, for 2x06 "Reset", and casting spoilers for Doctor Who season 4.
My general fangirly squeeing as the episode went on: YAY!!!!! MARTHA!!!!!!!! I was distraught when she left Doctor Who, so her, on Torchwood is absolutley fantastic. I hope she gets back to DW early on in the season, I don't know how many episode of Catherine Tate I can bear.
NOOOOOOO!!! You can't kill Martha!!!!!! I need her to save me from Catherine Tate!
OMG. OMG. OMG. OWEN. OMG. They seriously can't do that!!!! He was just about to date Tosh like I've been waiting for since the first episode, and then suddenly, he's dead. OMG. OMG. OMG.

highlight to read spoilers. I'm really gutted that Owen didn't really die although when he did come back with death but that soon got silly. Really silly. The writeing just seem to ahve gone down hill since season1. The onyl thing good i think about it was when M-Jone's came into it. but now shes gone :\ i really hope it gets better.

Aside form the Owen plot, I think this season is pretty good. Not as good as the fisrt but not bad either. I really liked the episode with Gwen's wedding. It was silly but I think it was suposed to be. I HOPE that this episode was meant to put an end to the Jack/Gwen thing but we all know she is ok with cheeting on Rhyes so maybe not...
Is James coming back this season?
Also, did I miss something...I do not remmeber Gwen getting proposed to or her telling Jack that she was going to marry Rhyes becouse no one else would have her. What episode was that?
