I don't know man, the style looks just like Runge's from Angel #14. Maybe it's because I saw it person, or maybe I'm just wrong, but it looks very very Runge to me.

Well, we'll have to wait and see!
But just to explain myself a little further...While I agree, it does look similar to Runge's #14 his style for the Aftermath covers has been quite different - the composition and style looked more like Rodriguez to me. So, then, looking at it the details they seemed so similar to Rodriguez's #22 that that is how I ended up at that conclusion.
<snip, redundant>
Anyhow, that's just to try and explain my thought process. Like you said, you did see it...
Moving on, but still looking at the image - it looks like there are two of those battle angels - one in the background protecting Angel & co. and on in the foreground being all loomy and looking like it's going to attack, so perhaps we're going to see quite a few of these characters? Interesting.

It IS indeed my cover for Angel: Aftermath #22. I'm going to ask Ryall tomorrow if it's ok for me to post it here, or at least have him possibly release it on the net. I don't see why that would be a problem, since it's obviously already been show at NYCC. I'll be launching a blog soon too, where I'll have all my covers (IDW) and anything else. I'll post the address when I can.
The characters on this cover are Angel, Gwen, Kate, and two warrior angels. I personally don't know weather or not these angel dudes are good or evil. I wanted to show Angel and gang surrounded by these dark figures. I used Gabe's cover for reference. he's done an amazing job on his covers!
I decided to do #22's cover in my regular style, just like my covers for ATF #9, 12, 13, and 14. I really enjoyed being able to show my painting style for covers 18-21, but I was itchin to get back to the regular style for a few covers. I'm glad you guys are interested though. I really appreciate the kind words from everyone who has ever commented about my art. Means a lot, so thank you.

Definitely cool that you're showing your different talents with the "Aftermath" covers. I really like those, very dark and gritty stuff. I love your regular style though, especially this most recent cover, the Angel/Connor cover, and the entire Wes story from "First Night." Can't wait to see some more Runge-ish covers.

Wow, thanks for joining Nick! And posting!
I think it is great that you played around with your style some for your new covers, as I think they all turned out great (#19 and #20 being personal favorites). I also love your past work in After the Fall as well, especially your Wesley cover for #12 and Wesley story in First Night. Thanks again for being a part of this series, I can't wait to see your cover for #22.

Well, Chris Ryall said it was ok for me to post Angel #22's cover, so now I'm trying to do so. I've never really used this forum yet to post images though. Sounds kind of silly, but how do I attach images to my replies? Can anyone help me? Besides photoshop and a couple other programs, I'm terrible with computers. Ha ha! *EDIT* Here is the cover, courtesy of Nick Runge/Chris Ryall! Thanks Nick!

We don't support direct file attachments anymore, you'd need to upload it to a filehost such as Photobucket, etc. Then direct link the image. Or if you want, you can email it to me and I will post it for you in this thread. The forum email is: forum@slayalive.com

Wow, amazing cover! I really love how the warrior angel's are surrounding Kate, Gwen, and Angel. I wonder if perhaps one will be good, and the other bad? Either way, really great cover, thanks for letting us see it Nick.

Sweet! Probably my favorite Aftermath cover. The warrior angel looks pretty badass and I love the setup of the three characters, they all look great, especially Kate. Hmm... I wonder why Connor isn't included, he's suppose to be a major player in Aftermath.

I wonder why Connor isn't included, he's suppose to be a major player in Aftermath. My guess is simply because of space. Having Connor on the cover would mean 6 characters on the cover (including the 2 warrior angel's). It is not uncommon to see that many on a cover (Urru's #17 cover, for example), but I think for this cover it would have been too much. Besides, Angel looks pretty awesome flanked by Kate and Gwen. ;D

And again, I can only see a little red cross. But two angels, nice ... I can't wait to find more about those angels. And Connor is not on it? Maybe he is kidnapped (again *sigh*) or lost? And that Angel needs to find him back with the help of Kate and Gwen?
