I'm getting really sick of Tim Burton at this point. All his movies look exactly the same, and I'm really getting sick of seeing Johnny Depp in his movies. I'm not looking forward to this at all. Don't get me wrong Tim Burton has done some amazing films, but the last few were nothing special, and just felt like you were watching the same movie over and over again. I wish they were still doing the film version of American Mcgee's Alice, that they announced like four years ago. That sounded much better than this. So disappointed that that movie isn't happening. Sarah Michelle Gellar was gonna play Alice, and Marcus Nispel (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE & FRIDAY THE 13TH remakes) was going to direct. Would've been much better than another generic Tim Burton piece of shit. Yeah!... and... yeah!

I agree about the Johnny Depp thing. He's a good actor, and I like his older work, but I am just so sick of him at this point. This movie does still look pretty cool though. Just hoping The Mad Hatter won't be featured for that long.

I'm a massive Depp fan but I can see why some people may get sick of the Tim/Johnny pairing. As for all Burton's films being same/similar, well I personally like it. He's got a style and he stays true to it - while still bringing newness and creativity to his role.
On the flipside - Tim Burton is a very PARTICULAR type of movie label, and his films aren't for everyone so I'm understanding of the haters and all that.

I am really excited for this movie. Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Danny Elfman = win. I think this movie looks awesome and I can't wait to see it!

Arrrggghhh. How did I not see this thread. I cant wait for this film. I have been looking forward too it since it was first announced I love Tim Burton films, I am a massive fan. Plus the bonus of Helena as the Red Queen and Johnny as the Mad Hatter, nothing can go wrong. And Matt Lucas is playing Tweedledum and Tweedledee And Anne Hathaway is playing the White Queen Michael Sheen as the white rabbit. (Plus Michael Sheen is staring in the next three Twilight films as Aro) Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar. Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat. (Tim Burton is adding alot of random British actors into the film London must be getting to his head) Barbara Windsor as the Dormouse This is going to be one random film . Plus Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter's children will have cameos in the film.

Looks pretty cool. Although I admit I did groan when it showed Johnny Depp acting... crazy. He plays The Mad Hater, it's expected, but all I could think was: "Again?"
But still, looks stylish and fun.

I can't wait to see this! I'm not sick of the Tim/Johnny pairing yet. In fact, I just watched Edward Scissorhands again recently. If anything, I wish they would pull back on the CGI effects. I sort of miss the old style of Burton films like in Edward Scissorhands or Beetlejuice. To me, they made bigger statements without the obvious grandeur.

Meh. I find this very predictable. I'd rather see Burton take on something that the whole world hasn't been expecting him to take on his whole career. I'm sure it will be fine, but I'll be waiting for the DVD.

This looks like one Tim Burton film I can sit through. Honestly, his style turns me off, but for this particular project it fits beautifully.
I love what he did with the red queen, Helen Bonham-Carter is his obvious cast, but she looks amazing. Johnny Depp, also an obvious cast, is definitely channeling Jack Sparrow a bit, and his acting may serve as a distraction to me in theaters. Anne Hathaway was a surprise, and the lead is a new name to me. I'm definitely interested in watching this.

What's with all the Tim Burton hate? I loveee him. He always makes interesting movies. I think he's a pretty bangin' director and he'll do alice in wonderland justice

I'm not a fan of Tim Burton at all, imo his movies are too creepy when they have no cause to and he needs to lay off on the Johnny Depp for once. But Alice in Wonderland would be the one movie that Tim Burton would be perfect for! Burton's style suits the style of Alice in Wonderland perfectly and I'm massively excited for this one.

Burton only wrote and produced The Nightmare Before Christmas though. It does bear his stamp of quirkiness, but he wasn't the director.

The Corpse Bride was also amazing. I loved Sweeny Todd and don't get me started with Edward Scissor Hands. I'm so hyped, can't wait. I love almost all his movies, im so hyped. I mean Beetlejuice, Batman, Sleepy Hollow, Planet of the Apes and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are also all amazing. Looking forward to his 2011 releases also with Frankenweenie and Dark Shadows
