She probably has nightmares about being a Catherine Madison type mother rather than a Joyce Summers type. . Never thought about this before but good point, she probably does.

I'm fairly certain that Willow won't keep this no-magic lifestyle. Perhaps she won't end up as FDW and die by Buffy's hand, but I still don't think it will go well for her. There's too much momentum building based solely in magic for her to not use it anymore.

I have a feeling Buffy & Co's survival in the upcoming battle may depend on the fact that Willow wasn't able to suppress her magic.

Wouldn't that defeat the message? If Buffy & Co are to stay magic-less, they should still be able to defeat Twilight without the aid of magic-wielders.

I don't think there's any point to them wanting to stay magic-less now. The whole idea was a mistake on Buffy's part, based on a desire to run rather than fight... which is not what Slayers do. For the Slayers to lay down their powers is like a singer cutting his own vocal cords. They can't defeat Twilight without the aid of magic. He's got armies of professional soldiers, demons, plus magic wielders and high tech. The Slayers, right now, have a bunch of guns they have no idea how to use, and Willow. They may eventually find a way to beat Twilight without their powers, but Twilight is attacking them NOW, and their only defenses are things that they aren't familiar with, but Twilight's people are. The best they can hope for is to escape, at this point. With no magic, they will all be killed or captured in the next 2 issues. (Which may very, very well happen.)

Just read this comic and I really enjoyed it! I really like the character one on ones, very in theme with the whole impending battle next issue.
Although, I'm not a supporter of the whole loosing magic thing. I mean, I think it's a really good plot device and I like it's use in the series. I'm just putting myself in the scooby's shoes. I think Buffy should EMBRACE the slayer with in her. Look at the other Slayers - they're not happy.
Although, I did like the significance of Buffy and Faith not being able to move the rock, so they use their heads instead. Clever.
But like I said. The waning Slayer strength is getting to me. I think they should all embrace what they are.
EDIT: Also! Oz and Willow moment. Dude, you really saw the power in Willow in this issue. It's bubbling over and starting to seep into her none-magic times, which is new. And aww! You guys! The moment where he hands the baby to Willow, lion kind style. Very symbolic, I think.

Great observations. I agree regarding the embracing of their Slayer-ness. I thought Buffy was past her period of doubting her place and her power. Regarding the magic THING; my understanding is that its not so much in that they want to give up using magic but that they are being forced to give it up because the trail of it being used could lead Twilight to them. I also found the scene between Willow and Oz quite interesting. Willows reaction to his "new" life is quite telling.

That's one reason. Another was Buffy's moral certainty. She wasn't sure which side of the tracks they were on. I'm not sure which direction the writers are going to take this, be it "we can fight evil without magic" or "embrace our strength, magical or otherwise", but I do know that Buffy is mentally precisely where Twilight wants her.

Well, comics have always been gratuitous. Sex sells, my friends.

Pst, no double-posting. Use the edit function.
And Twilight can be revealed anytime. There's going to be 40 issues, so we might get to wait a while longer.

I'll be surprised if the mask doesn't come off in issue #30.

I think #31 is going to be more of an epilogue to #30... dealing with the immediate aftermath of the stuff that happened in that issue. The big climactic stuff will probably be in #30.

I think it'll come of at the end of 29, just to leave us hanging with jaws on the floor for a month.

Well, comics have always been gratuitous. Sex sells, my friends. That's not a fair statement. The "Sex sells" generalization can be applied to just about EVERYTHING.

So, my question is: When is this season going to end? When will Twilight be revealed? I'm getting twitchy, here guys. Agreed. It's starting to get me to a good bit as well. I made some new friends this last month and Buffy was brought up, and they are fanatics of the television show. They didn't realize there was a Season 8 in comics. So I went out, and bought the entire set of trades available. In a couple of days, they're asking me for more. They've loved it. "How long have you been reading?" "Eh, a couple of years now...." These guys got a Big Gulp dose and seemed to enjoy it fanatically. And it only took a day or two. I, on the other hand, am comparing it to CRISIS and 52 and starting to get a little weary. Maybe after this "season" is done, someone could suggest that Buffy just be "on-going" and have arcs limited to a year? I appreciate longevity and depth, but...
