With Oz married and a father, and Willow not showing any interest in men in over 5 years, I just don't see any future for Oz and Willow. Well, sure. If you're going to try to use logic and good storytelling in order to predict future events, then you would come to this sort of conclusion. Weirdo.

Yeah. Logic and Whedonverse are like... unmixy things.

Only a two page preview, BUT, that must mean the other three pages are chock full of information goodness! chock is a word right...?

I believe chock is a word. If not, it should be.
Oh, and welcome modifiedblind!

"Chock" is a word, as "chock full" is an expression. However, I'm not sure if I'm as convinced as you are about the worth of the next few pages; "Safe" pretty much wasted a lot of pages, and we only received a 2-page preview for that too. I hope that's not the case here, and that rather, the entire issue is chock full of goodies.

I'm ever hopeful this issue is chock full of AWESOME. I need to do a reread tonight of the first two issues of this arc. Looking forward to tomorrow as always. Buffy Wednesdays are good days to have.
Heh. Notice how when Buffy first started airing it was on Mondays. Then it moved to Tuesdays. Now it's a comic on Wednesdays. Maybe someday in the far off future, there'll be a rebooted Buffyverse show of some kind that will air on Thursdays.

Sometime in the early afternoon the realization creeps up on me that people are out there reading the story right at this very moment, and I'm missing it because I'm stuck at work until 6 p.m. And then the feedback posts start appearing, and I have to enforce Buffy Site Blackout to avoid getting spoiled. And after I've gone to the comics shop (walking distance from my house), I am in grave danger of walking into telephone poles because I can't wait until I get home to read it, so I'm walking down the street with my nose in a damned comic book. I've already decided I'm taking the day off from work the day #30 comes out. I think I may need counseling.

My Buffy Wednesday goes like this:
Wake up. Possibly go to work. Possibly sleep in. Upon waking, Buffy Site Blackout mode engaged. Wait until 1pm to go to comics store to buy latest issue. Must wait till 1pm because they refuse to sell it to you before then even though they have it in their hands and they taunt you with the comic so viciously you can practically smell the ink on the paper. Buy immediately, bag and board, and walk out to the car, literally vibrating with anticipation at reading the issue. Tell yourself you don't care that people look at you funny when they see you reading a comic book in the parking lot. Laugh and enjoy. Engrossed fully. Drive home, thinking about the comic on the way. At each stoplight, open the comic to look at your favorite parts and reread. Try not to murderize innocent people while reading and driving because the light turned green and you figure if you're just sort of glancing at the comic out of the corner of your eye you can still drive. Arrive home safely, thereby proving there is a God.
And his name is Joss.

Except on the day #24 came out, when the other drivers at the stop light were wondering why you were yelling at something unseen in the passenger seat next to you. (It sucks when an issue disappoints you and you have to wait a whole month to try again.) At my comics shop, they don't put the comics out until 3-4 pm. First they put the issues in all of the pull boxes (of which I have one), but they have to finish filling all the pull boxes before they'll give me my comics. The issues will be sitting right there on a cart, but I can't touch them until they go officially on sale. Back when I was unemployed 7 or 8 years ago and could stop by the comics store every Wednesday at mid-afternoon, there would be a dozen nerds standing around salivating, waiting to descend on the new comics. But nowadays, I'm often the only one in the store.

Legally, they are allowed to sell starting at midnight (I used to work at a comic book store, and we had midnight events for huge releases).

Except on the day #24 came out, when the other drivers at the stop light were wondering why you were yelling at something unseen in the passenger seat next to you. (It sucks when an issue disappoints you and you have to wait a whole month to try again.) Yeah, the disappointment was fierce for that issue. But it lent itself to extreme mockage. And my sights were set kinda low because it was written by a non-Buffyverse author who is not Brian K Vaughan. I just hope to God that Meltzer's arc is being watched by Joss like a feral cat hunting down mice. If mice were Buffyverse characterization, theme-y-ness and Whedon dialogue. First, I love your Buffy Day ritual. Second, I do have a question. Why does your store make you wait until 1? Legally, they are allowed to sell starting at midnight (I used to work at a comic book store, and we had midnight events for huge releases). Haha thanks! I honestly don't know why they do it. They get the comics and open the store at 10am. I once went there right when they opened and they wouldn't let me buy it because they were pulling issues for their subscribers and also putting up the comics out that day on the display. I guess they figure it would be madness if they just let everyone buy them right when the store opened and they'd never get the comics pulled and put up. But it sucks. ****** And I've read this issue! So yes, the big surprise is that Xander and Dawn kiss and Buffy walks in on them. But it was handled brilliantly with so many fake-outs to the other teased relationships that for a minute I honestly thought that it was going to be Buffy/Xander. There's some brilliant Buffy/Xander, Willow/Oz, Willow/Buffy, Buffy/Faith, Xander/Dawn and Andrew/Giles scenes (when I use the slash here, I'm not necessarily implying shippiness, just that they had a scene together just the two of them). The story takes you back through Andrew's POV as he's going around trying to find the spy in their midst and documents everything with his camcorder. That nosy little weasel.

So I just read the issue. This was low-action, more about dialog and character development, as well as setting up for a big battle. I'm not a huge fan of Andrew's "Storyteller" persona, but is was kinda funny that he used his past to his advantage is try to find the mole.
I really enjoyed Oz and Willow's interaction, and also loved how Buffy and Faith had a nice moment, their first in a while. I was surprised how well Willow took the news that Buffy kills her in the future; I don't think we've seen the last of this issue between them.
Last but not least, we finally have Dander confirmation. They teased us to make it seem like we might get some Bander, but in the end Buffy catches them together. Too bad they are going to make us wait to see how she really feels about it.
I knew there was something fishy about that cat...

I really liked this issue. It felt alot like an actual episode. And just like storyteller its got that sort of over the hump feeling like we knew the end of the season is coming and the confrontation is going to be just that....the beat all end all.
I was kind of curious about the whole Dander thing. I havent really been rooting for or against but the way Jane kind of led into it was handled nicely and I think they could definetly be good for each other. I dont know if it was ever mentioned here, on whedonesque, or anything of the like but after I saw the episodes "Him" and "Potential" I was fairly sure that if they oppertunity ever arose it would happen...
