Watched it on DVR last night. I'm sorry to say I didn't much like it. I thought it was predictable, and the dialog was all too on-the-nose with not much character or wit. It seemed like they were just trying to move the plot along, but in so doing they forgot to give me reasons to care if the plot moves along. My interest in this show was based on the fact that Morena Baccarin, Alan Tudyk and Elizabeth Mitchell were in it. They all did fine with what they were given to work with (and Morena looks amazing in a short skirt ), but I don't know as I'll be making time to watch it. If I hear good things about it in the future, maybe I'll catch up.

I watched it when it premiered on ABC. I loved it. Great casting... except for the son, I really dislike him for some odd reason. I was really surprised on how much they revealed in the pilot episode such as their reptilian skin and their true motives. I was really looking forward to Alan's character being a lost interest for that cop mom. Oh well. lol. I haven't seen a single episode from the old series so this is all fresh. Can't wait for next Tuesday.

Just finished it. It's polished, perfectly produced, slick, but as AC3PO said, predictable. I get that not every show will have witty one-liners, zingers, poignant dialogue, etc (even Dollhouse is quite lacking in this dept), so I won't hold that against the show too much. The first thing that popped to mind was just how stunning Morena Baccarin's face is. Well, her figure's nothing to sneeze at either, but the new short hairdo shows off her face so well. I may just give this a try, since 90210 is getting on my nerves with the drama about drama that kids create to fill their empty lives.

I watched it today as well. It has loads of potential, but then so did Flashforward and that has only gotten great very recently (with this week's episode, in fact). I'm gonna watch, certainly, but I'm skeptical.

I agree with everything you just said. It was good, but a bit predicatable. But it's such a glossy show and well-produced, that itself is entertaining to watch. And also - Morena is so gorgeous! Her short haircut is definitely a win. Morena Baccarin's Haircut > Olivia William's Haircut

Morena Baccarin's Haircut > Olivia William's Haircut That's for sure, Olivia's haircut makes her look so old now. Her old length was sexy.

Em... we've had hive mind since we virtual met. As for hair length, it's not so much the length that makes Olivia look old but the style. If they had gone with an edgy cut, like Morena's, it would have totally upped Olivia's sex appeal. It takes a special confidence to pull off short hair in women, and that itself is sexy. However, since they went with that bob-like thing, they should just have stuck with the old hair.

Hope this gets to Oz soon, and free-to-air would be nice! I'm at a lapse for good things to watch on TV right now and I'd love to give this a shot. Mixed reviews from you guys but I pretty much would love to watch it just for Morena, Alan and Elizabeth.

I watched the pilot. Looking forward to this week's ep. I think the show is interesting with a lot of potential. Will definitely be tuning in each week. Plus it's great to see Morena and Alan working together again. What could be better?! I think the show has promise if executed properly. Hope it sticks around!

Thought tonight's episode was pretty solid. I expected a big drop quality because of all the behind the scenes problems, but I still enjoyed it. The writing was pretty weak at some parts. Glad they kept moving the story forward though, and some characters became more interesting.

Yeah, I agree with you hitnrun.
I hope the show is not going down because of all this behind-the-scenes Mambo-jambo.
Has Jeffrey Bell quit officially? I just read that Scott Peters was replaced by Scott Rosenbaum and that Bell is likely to leave, but nothing else beyond that.

What behind the scenes issues are they having?
I think this show is pretty awesome and has great potential. Morena is great and I have loved Elizabeth Mitchell since she was in the movie GIA.

I'm not really sure what the problems have been. I remember Ausiello reporting that ABC wasn't happy with the quality and rate the scripts were being delivered, so they replaced Jeffrey Bell as showrunner. And then it was just announced a week or two ago that they switched showrunners again, like Neil just mentioned. Might not be a big deal. They've only filmed the first four episodes, and don't go back until January.
And I agree about Elizabeth Mitchell, she killed me in Gia.

I have seen a bit of the original and I always wanted to see more. So with Elizabeth Mitchell, Laura Vandervoort and Morena Baccarin I can't wait.

I'm watching this show, and rather enjoying it so far. I like how they got all the original story elements out of the way in the first ep so they could focus on the new story elements. But I just have this feeling it will be a show that ABC drops midway. Which then makes me seriously wonder if I should even put the time into it in the first place. And it can't be a good sign that ABC will show 4 eps, then go on a 3 maybe 4 month hiatus. Also read where production was halted to help retool the show some already.
But once again I'm enjoying it. The second ep did kinda feel slow and of filler capacity. Morena Baccarin as leader of the visitors is kinda hot and creepy at the same time.

*le sigh*. I pretty much called every single twist of the night. That's my biggest issue with this show... so far, it's so paint by the numbers that I'm left underwhelmed. The only twist I found remotely interesting was the V doc being a traitor. But the "shooter"... yeah, called that one. Lisa being Anna's daughter was much suspected. I'm also suspecting that Lisa will indeed fall in love with Ty, and that she will betray her mother. It won't be the first time something like that has happened. What I'm loving so far is the desperation of the people who know the truth. Feeling lost, alone, and totally overwhelmed. Next week's looks to be explosive. Quite literally. Anna is such a delightful little villainess.

I loved the twist with the doctor, that was really neat. Looks like Alan is probably done though, which is a bummer. I was looking forward to Dale and Erica having another showdown after last week's cliffhanger. Oh well. Can't say I didn't hate seeing Laura Vandervoort in her undies either...
