"V is an upcoming television series remake to be broadcast on ABC during the mid season of the 2009-2010 television season. It is executive produced by The 4400 creator Scott Peters, Jace Hall, Steve Pearlman and Jeffrey Bell and is based on the science-fiction franchise created by Kenneth Johnson. The series will premiere on November 3, 2009." I just saw the trailer for this show, and it looks pretty interesting. Looked it up, and saw Jeffrey Bell's name involved too! <3 Bell wrote Angel episodes, like Magic Bullet.

Most anticipated new show of the season. Morena Baccarin is a series regular, and Alan Tudyk guest stars. Way more important than Jeffrey Bell.

Haha it's fine. According to Ausiello, the network didn't like what Jeffrey Bell was doing and knocked him down from showrunner.
Regardless, this show just looks incredible. I've never seen the original series, but everything from the cast to the story just seems ace. Cannot wait.

Oooh - looks great! I'll almost certainly excitedly anticipate this for about a month, then forget all about it, and start watching when reminded halfway through season 3. It's my own special way.

Just watched the Pilot tonight. I'll try to give a long review for this, because I really enjoyed it.
This is the best opening episode I have ever seen. It's that easy to say, because it is true. I loved it. They did a lot in this episode, but it was easy to follow, and it moved the major plot forward. The beginning jumped around a bit to show all of the main characters, but it was done nicely.
The two characters, Erica Evans and Tyler Evans(Her son), were much fun. I got to like both of them within the very beginning of this Pilot. Erica is the main main of this show(As I can tell), and has a fun personality. She is played by Elizabeth Mitchell, and this girl seems to have some serious acting skills(I've never watched anything else with her in it, so I was happy that she was such a good actress).
Tyler, played by Logan Huffman, is the handsome 'bad boy' of the show. It would only seem traditional to make him the main character's son. They wrote some fun dialog with Tyler, and Huffman made the lines come to life. I think he has the character down, for sure. I also like that they are having this kid side with the 'V's, unlike his mother(Who is now against them).
Another character, Ryan Nichols(Played by Morris Chestnut), didn't have me interested until the very ending of the Pilot. They just kind of dragged on the question, "What is his past?" I didn't like that they pulled it that far into the episode, but I think the answer to the question is pretty neat. On the other hand, I didn't like how they revealed the big shocker.
Father Jack Landry(Played by Joel Gretsch) is an okay character so far. I like that they are showing a person who questions the 'V's. I'm sure he will play a bigger part in more episodes coming. They showed him quite a bit in this opener, but it didn't take you into his character enough to know him. It also looks like he will be teaming up with Erica, so that's good that they have him interacting with another main character.
Valerie Stevens(Played by Lourdes Benedicto) didn't do too much. She seems like an okay actress so far, but I didn't get to like her character at all. She didn't do enough for me to see her as an interesting character. It looked like the dull dragging of Ryan's past was pushing her aside from the spotlight.
Chad Decker(Played by Scott Wolf) made me smirk at a few things he said. This guy wasn't seen very much outside of his interviews, but that was okay. That's his main play in the plot right now. He knows that these 'V's aren't as humble as they appear to be, but he didn't do anything about it, because the fame that these interviews are getting with Anna(Played by Morena Baccarin) is too great. The situation is helping his career, and I think he took the path most humans would.
Like I said, Anna is played by Morena Baccain, and she did a great job. Some of her lines reminded me of Dolls in Dollhouse. She seems like an interesting character, and a great villain for 'V'. Lisa(Played by Laura Vandervoort) is another 'V'. She is very beautiful, and looks to be a love interest to Tyler. It could be neat to see Lissa and Tyler get together; How would a V and a human romanic relationship play out? Would Lissa be using him?
Overall, this was amazing. It had a few things that weren't too great, but they weren't bad either. I would give it a 4.8 out of 5.0. I will be looking forward to next Tuesday, because 'V' was a great watch.
P.S. For anyone wondering about Alan Tudyk(he played Dale Maddox). He appeared to be Erica's partner of some sort, and possibly even a romanic interest... Is that all? I won't spoil, so go watch this show!

First episode was really great, I hope everyone checks it out! The camera work alone was some of the best I have seen on TV (except for in Lost perhaps). Great cast, writing, direction, pacing, etc. I hope this show sticks around because it has the best chance of replacing Lost (FlashForward is decent but no Lost).

I've got the episode recorded so I didn't read your summary VampSlayer. I'm pretty stoked to watch this though! I haven't had good television to watch since Fox stopped Dollhouse and Glee. (oh that sounds sad...I need new shows to watch)

Yeah, the first episode was excellent. Probably the best first episode of the new season. I can't really think of anything negative about it, everything worked perfectly. Cast rocks, already invested in some characters, and twists galore. Maybe the best special effects I've seen on television too.
Definitely can't miss out on this, especially if you're a Whedon fan. Come on! Morena plays a freaking alien.

It was really, really good.
Elizabeth Mitchell and Morena Baccarin were definitely the stand outs, as I think they probably should be, Elizabeth as the main main, she seemed cool and reserved in most scenarios, but not to a hokey quality, as when the main plot twist happened she was definitely in shock, and played it realistically.
Morena on the other hand is too cool and reserved in all scenarios. She was delightfully creepy. From her physical actions of blinking in a strange manner to the way she poses herself too professionally. I loved it. It was definitely an interesting juxtaposition between two leads. Can't wait to see them meet each other.

At first I wasn't so sure, but by the end of the pilot I am left very intrigued and will be giving 'V' a chance. It kind of started slowly, but the build was great and wow... The reveal that they are reptilian alien life-forms is straight up sci-fi, I love it!

EDIT - if the show is going to be discusses more so than the cast shouldn't it be placed in TV board? Shows that star Whedon alumni are discussed here. Woah, it absolutely killed in the ratings. Highest rated new show this season. Source. Hope it keeps it up!

Now that they are taken care of, hopefully they can get the behind the scenes issues taken care of and we can enjoy this show for a long time.

I loved it. I was a big fan of the original when iit came out and wondered how they would approach it with a blend of a new audience and the old audience.
It was marvelous. They did for V what J.J. Abrahams did for Star Trek.
Looking forward to next week!
