10 second copulation... Anna wasn't kidding when she said that their race was efficient. The praying mantis thing is so passe though... seriously. And the woman contemplating the mouse... I think that was supposed to be a nod back at the original series, where the queen of the Vs actually ate a mouse. Wasn't that impressed by the ep... I kept checking my watch, which doesn't bode well.

Just please make the human characters more interesting. I can't disagree with this. And the woman contemplating the mouse... I think that was supposed to be a nod back at the original series, where the queen of the Vs actually ate a mouse. I know. I was actually hoping we'd get to see Morena Baccarin eat one! :P

And the woman contemplating the mouse... I think that was supposed to be a nod back at the original series, where the queen of the Vs actually ate a mouse. Actually, it was a guinea pig. I agree with Ethan, this episode felt the same as the previous four. No good "Oohs" and "Ahs" in this episode. Bummer. Although I still really enjoyed it. Snap! Anna's got some fangs on her. In the past I thought John May was Anna's husband, King of the V's but the "praying mantis" act as Xi put it, I doubt it. Perhaps her son? I can't wait to see a V in its true form (whole body). I'm curious as to if the V's made Chad's brain aneurysm or whatever up so he would get injected with the vaccine (which would then gain the trust of others since he's a big media figure). I'm intrigued on Valerie's and Ryan's baby, I can't wait to see how that develops. I wonder what this destiny that Anna wants Lisa to fulfill is. Did Anna and that V dude even... you know, *does the finger in the hole hand gesture/motion* do it? Like humans? The whole hand on the face thing confused the heck out of me. Wow, I feel like a total perv now.

Wow, I feel like a total perv now. I hope I don't cross a line with this. I tried to make my point without being too graphic. I think there was, erm, *puts finger in hole*, but I don't think there was any *puts finger in hole, moves it in and out*. Gosh, Ben, you're not the only perv.
Anyway, Anna said the Vs don't experience emotions the humans do, so it makes sense that sex, which is supposed to be a physically and emotionally satisfying for humans, is just "wham bam, thank you ma'am" for them.
Anna putting her hand over the male's face merely seemed to be a way of expressing dominance, rather than part of their actually mating.

What did people think about tonight's ep.? I thought it was a lot better than last week's and I'm very intrigued by the "pregnant by a V" story-line.

Very entertaining episode. Ryan up on the ship was great, as was Georgie getting caught. I'm also intrigued about this sudden mystery about Tyler (I'm guessing adopted?). Baby V should be exciting, maybe we'll get an Alien scenario at birth.

While adoption seems the most likely, I'll be kind of disappointed if that's the big secret. When there are reptile-like aliens running around looking like humans trying to kill the real humans... Adoption just doesn't seem like a big deal.

I think it was the best episode yet. Great pacing, and some actual good development for the human characters. The story gets more entertaining with every episode too.

Pound of Flesh.
Another great episode. I totally knew the V tailing Ryan was from the Fifth Column. As for the Alien fetus, I'm wondering if they'll use the Red Dust storyline from the original V series. And a chestburster scene would be pretty bad-ass, Wyndam. I'm curious as to if Georgie actually killed the V going after Ryan since their hearts are on the right side of the V's chest. Also, you'd think Valerie would notice the smell of phosphorus (I'm just sayin'). It was great to see Nicholas Lea on V. I guess her just couldn't stay away from Aliens (he was on the X-Files). I wonder how long he'll stay around. I'm pumped about next week's episode. Its titles "John May" so I'm hoping we'll actually meet the V that started the Fifth Column.

Oh yeah, would anyone mind reminding me what the phosphorous was supposed to do to Valerie? I missed a few minutes around a commercial and it wasn't made all that clear.

Basically V women have loads of Phosphorous in them to nourish their young. Humans don't have enough. Valerie won't survive her pregnancy without a lot of it. Seems like it'll have some consequences.

So, I fell asleep in the episode before last, and also missed the current episode...
Should I catch up? I really haven't enjoyed the show so far, so just wondering if the recent happenings have been more impressive.

Well damn. After last week's improvement I was hoping it'd keep up, but tonight's episode was definitely the worst. Just pretty much awful from start to finish, save one surprising scene near the end.

I thought V was pretty good tonight. I've been getting kind of tired of it lately, so I almost didn't watch, but I'm glad I did. What did everyone else think?

I have been really enjoying it, as has my boyfriend. We recorded last night's episode as I was too tired to stay up, but we will watch it tonight. I think the writing is great, and they give you just enough each week to keep watching. I am not usually a big fan of alien spaceship type scifi things, but this is very good so far. My brother used to watch the original series in the 80's according to my mom, and he was addicted to it!
Are you on series two in the States then?

No, we're still on "series" one, but we've only got two episodes left. In fact, io9.com has recently revealed some info about the upcoming season finale, but because they were in their "Morning Spoiler" posts and contain spoilers for other shows and movies (such as Lost, Dr. Who, Iron Man 2, etc.), I'll do a C&P along with links.

Fruition.
Oh snap, the V soldiers are about to hatch! I bet one of the members of the Fifth Column (either Lisa, Joshua, or Erica) will drop the petri dish filled with that deadly algae (the new Red Dust?) into where the eggs are being kept, ruining Anna's plans at destroying the Fifth Column. I'm really not liking that Chad Decker fellow. Move over Marcus, a new lap dog is in town. Sheesh. I hope that Dr. Leah Pearlman doesn't die in the season finale, that would suck. Oh crap, Valerie's water broke. Its a shame we won't see the baby, at least not until the second season if it survives that long. I wonder if Hobbes will take the money and run or if he'll turn around and use the weapon against the V's. I don't care either way, I didn't really find his character that useful. Well, maybe just a little bit but he served his purpose so he can die now. Ugh. Tyler is so annoying and oblivious to the truth. Why does Anna even want him? To get to Erica? Anyone become a Joshua/Lisa shipper at the end of this episode? I know I did. lol.
