I dont know if this hads been metioned but: Noooooooooo!!!! "On the rumors. The latest one is that Megan Fox is in talks to star as Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Cinefools say she is a FOX's choice for the remake which is going to make its debut sometime in 2012." www.horror-movies.ca/horror_15510.html Gosh, I hope not. She's not exactly what I would call an actress.

I'm pretty sure Vertigo does not consider existing Buffy fans their target audience for this movie. They know we already have our Buffy. They're going after the younger kids in hopes of cashing in on the vampire fad. (The punchline being that the movie isn't projected to come out until 2012, by which time that fad will be long gone.) Actually, there are four Twilight books. Assuming that they pump out one film per year, they'll have only finished those in 2011, and I doubt they'll want to make the last one into just one film, so that may knock things back to 2012. Not to mention that there is a strong rumor running about that there will be a series of House of Night movies, which have a lot of potential to really catch on. The House of Night books were much better written than Twilight. I don't see the vampire "fad" going down for a while, unless somebody really slaughters something important. Frankly, I don't see the Buffy movie as a major player in this market, but it's possible profit could trickle over in that direction. We as a fanbase should agree that we never give this film any of our money. No Whedon, No Deal. That's fine for individuals to decide. I admire your conviction, but personally, I will see this movie (if it ever makes it to theaters). I've heard people say, "Let's picket the premier," I've heard people say they wanted a total boycott. I'm just going to wait and see. If the movie sucks, I'll say so, and I'll refer people to the good stuff. If not, I'll buy the action figures/t-shirts/collectible trading cards, and I'll refer the other people who liked it to the old stuff. I refuse to look at this as a total loss before it's even cast.

Does anybody who bought this game want to review it or post some pictures of the packaging/cartridge?

I think the movie could work fine without the Sunnydale scoobies, making certain assumptions:
The actor who plays Pike is young, hot, and funny.
The actor who plays Merrick is very well rounded and not quite as creepy as the last one was.
They re write at least some of her friends as being less one dimensional and superficial.
The vampires are both scarier and sexier.
The girl they pick for Buffy has to be a tremendous actress as well as being pretty and athletic in order to carry those snappy lines while still seeming vulnerable.

Why would they put her there? She's already in one vampire franchise, surely she wouldn't want to be in another one.

I know you guys are against it, but I'm going to see it. I wouldn't want to miss my best friend's hanging, and I wouldn't miss Buffy's either.
It's not necessarily going to suck as a film, it's just not going to be the Buffy we know and love. I'm going to reserve my judgment until I hear some of the names they get involved. And who knows? Joss has been relatively quiet about this, maybe they'll come around to involving him.
Besides that, Marvel does this sort of thing all the time. They create alternate story lines and place them in parallel universes. That doesn't mean that any of them are really canceled out, only separated.

Today is Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Here are my predictions for the Buffyverse. The comic books will continue for another five years, until Joss is too busy to oversee much and the comics have left cannon. We will continue to get comics as long as we buy them, but they won't be as exciting as Season 8 or After the Fall because they won't have Joss's cannon stamp. Dr. Horrible will become a pop culture icon, and will possibly get a full length big screen film. We will never get our Ripper movie, and we will eventually give up. We'll be sad about it, but after a certain point, optimism will proove moot. Until... Ten years from now, Fox will decide to reboot Buffy in a 12 episode miniseries. It will flop, but we'll find it kind of oddly interesting. Twenty years from now, the Johnny Depp of the day will come out that he's always wanted to play Angel, and because he's enormously popular and more than slightly rich, there will be a modern Buffy movie. We, the old fans, will come out in droves and have mixed feelings about it, but over all we'll be happy to see Buffy again. The success of the film cues another revival series within five years. This version will be much better than the 2018 version. Not as good as the original, but still much better than anything else on TV at the time. The new show goes on for five years and has two big screen sequels. 30 years from now, another new series will start, based on Buffy's world but with another Slayer as the main character. This version is very popular with a brand new bunch of fans. 35 years from now, the series will die again, but still be very popular. 40 years from now, most of the actors we liked from the show will either have died or be very old. The ones who are left do a radio show, straight to datafile version of the original show, which is pretty entertaining to the diehard fans that are left. We're approaching the ten year mark, only it'll be earlier than I imagined, and rather than rebooting via miniseries, we're doing it via film. What does this mean for the future of the Buffyverse?

Hi Scott! Killing a Slayer is a pretty big achievement in the vampire community, as we know from Spike's experiences. Has Harmony gained some street cred with other vampires, or do they have a problem with the whole outing them to the whole world thing?

I loved the first three books, but Breaking Dawn was horrible. I'm doing a series of comparisons between Buffy and Twilight for fun now, if any of you would like to look at them. www.youtube.com/user/xMadxScientistx

Well, I'm glad to hear I won't have to endure 5 issues of Harmony. If it's just one issue, it might even be a good thing. Maybe this could get interesting. Anybody else think this is the sort of thing that would *really* annoy Dracula?

They're losing me more all the time. I have really loved the comics all the way up till the Fray arch, but now I'm having doubts. The Fray arch is hard to follow (and frankly I don't care about Fray at all), and now we're going to have a "Harm's Way" style arch?
Don't get me wrong, I like Harmony in a background character way, but really? And another bad pun about her name? Gah. Willow's no longer a relateable character and I have to waste four issues on Harmony?
Ah, well. If this is what they're focusing on, I can't complain. Buffy is Buffy. I'm not pleased with the direction things have taken, but maybe it'll even out later on. I think I'll reread Wolves at the Gate and cheer myself up.

I really loved season 8, all the way up to the Fray arch. I feel kinda lost, because I really don't get what's going on with any of these characters except Xander and Dracula. And Dawn, but that's assuming she'll eventually be back to (relatively) normal.

I'm not a huge fan of Spider-man, but I'm kinda glad they're still doing it. After all, that's more opportunities for great Marvel crossovers and team ups. Marvel makes the best comic book movies.

I'd pay monthly for a Buffy game, especially if they kept the quality up and/or did expansions.
