It leaked online Sunday, Nicholas. I would advise anyone who hasn't yet watched it to wait, since the DVD will be out next Tuesday. If you absolutely feel the need to download it, buy the DVD and the episode's theme song "Remains" by Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon.
Personally, I couldn't help myself that Sunday, but I'm still quite excited to see it on my TV. DEFINITELY recommend buying "Remains" as well.

The song that Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon composed for Epitaph One is now available for download at Amazon (soon to be on iTunes as well) and is called "Remains." Click here to download "Remains" from AmazonI've had it on my head for the last couple of hours. It's very beautifully performed and perfectly fits the episode and the series. Would love to see this on an official Dollhouse soundtrack release someday.

SPIN OFF SHOW!!!) Though I'd love this story to continue, I'm quite sure Joss already has some intricate plan of bringing both continuities together gradually like he's begun to do with Buffy and Fray. As I mentioned before, I believe Epitaph One will be the groundwork for the Dollhouse series finale, which I truly hope we won't be seeing any time soon.

I'm in complete awe. I couldn't help myself and watched both Epitaph One and Echo.
Without spoiling anything, I will say that the strangest thing, in my opinion, about Epitaph One is that it seems like the first part of a two or three part series finale. When Dollhouse does start to come to an end, and I REALLY hope it won't be any where near from now, Epitaph One will be the foundation for the finale, I think, and what an amazing story it's going to be.
The episode as a whole is extremely emotional, dark, and all sorts of awesome. Amy Acker is an unbelievably amazing actress, and now I know for sure why Eliza Dushku is the only and perfect actress for Echo/Caroline.
As a series finale though had the show been cancelled, Epitaph One certainly would've been a massive cliffhanger. Even more so than the series finale of Angel.
I couldn't be more excited for Season 2. What the Dollverse is heading towards are some seriously disturbing and enigmatic storylines.

It was definitely a sight to see when they were together. I don't mind Anette either, and as I mentioned before, Nightwish are still a very catchy band with nice melodies, but I just don't find any of the emotion there was back in the Tarja "era."
I think Tarja's best solo work thus far have been songs like "Oasis" and "The Reign" where she has gone as far away from the metal/rock as possible and into that film score sound. Is it nice to hear her with guitars every now and then? Yes, but not so much as hearing her accompanied by beautiful orchestras, tribal drums, and lyrics which really suit her voice much better. The symphonic rock thing can get old really fast. She needs to start trusting herself more and composing/writing songs on her own like she did with "Oasis" as I truly believe that it is the best song on the first album.

Great work everyone! I chose the one that aesthetically I liked the most, but also because I agreed with the character choice. Also surprised there were no Dollhouse banners!

I believe in ghosts, bigfoot, telepaths, but i don't believe in actual magic... i believe that there are people who think they are witches, gypsies, high priestesses, but i think they're (for the most part) crazy. For the most part, no, we are not mentally unstable. Some of us are sucessful lawyers, doctors, blue-collar workers, writers, activists, professors, counselors, and you get the idea. Calling any religious group crazy because you don't believe in what they do shows a serious lack of compassion and tolerance. Before giving an opinion on whether or not anyone's faith is "true", why not just read about it from their perspective? Before completely discrediting magic as mental instability, why not read about what magic really is? We do not create fireballs and shoot them at people. We don't sparkle, or teleport, or change time...we are healers. For the most part, magic does not contradict or reverse the laws of nature, rather it takes these laws into serious consideration so that with clear intent and understanding, the energy can used productively to accomplish a particular goal. One of the major philosophical debates in the Pagan community, as well as outside of it, is whether magic works empirically or psychologically. There are many answers to this question, among which is that the psychological and empirical aren't entirely exclusive from one another. Our working definition of magic in my personal tradition is "the art of changing consciousness at will," which means many things, but one that I will point out is that as an art, as a craft, it requires practice, time, and intent, so it will not always work perfectly, especially when one considers that there are opposing forces to will, there is resistance in nature. Magic works as much under that resistance law, as it does around it. Hard to grasp, huh? Bottom line is that magic is to be experienced. Do not disregard or discredit something because it does not work for you. Now, I can't speak for every witch, Pagan, gypsy, wiccan, sage, mage, druid, shaman, because our traditions differ in many aspects, but I can say that magic is a large and important part of Pagan beliefs, many which predate Judeo-Christian teachings. As a modern religion based on Old Traditions, a lot of Pagan practice has become infused with not only folklore and mythology, but also newer concepts from science and academia. Magic does not mean simply doing a ritual and waiting for it to happen. The Reclaiming Tradition fully acknowledges the importance of action and physical work combined with spirituality. Since many of us believe in a world that is always changing, and we believe that we have the responsibility and the ability to help and direct those changes, we do not see ourselves as having the full knowledge of the Divine. So, do I believe in a supernatural? Yes, for the most part. I do not believe it to be separate ("super"), however, but rather another facet of our universe. Angels, demons, fairies, and other common folklore and mythological beings are simply personal and universal visual representations of that deeper energy current which people experience very differently. A Christian from New Hampshire will experience the Divine, or that energy current which holds the universe together, very differently from an indigenous shaman in the Amazon. There's obviously much more I could say, but I'm just going to end this by asking that if you don't believe in something, at least learn what it truly means before discrediting its possibility and demeaning the fact that there are many people who do believe. We all experience life differently, so be open to others' ideas. Some of the posts in this thread have been contradictory and even a tad ignorant really. If you're interested in my personal tradition or learning what I believe, feel free to ask me or READ! There are numerous Pagan authors from all different Pagan traditions (and believe me, there are many. Every day I find more and more.), and some have published numerous books, not excluding fictional works. Read what academics have to say, some are even Pagan themselves. Here's a link to the official Reclaiming website: www.reclaiming.org"Every religion is true one way or another. It is true when understood metaphorically. But when it gets stuck in its own metaphors, interpreting them as facts, then you are in trouble." - Joseph Campbell

I still wonder why she keeps turning every party into some weird orgy type thing. There's really no answer to this that wouldn't be a spoiler. So, I'll tease, without telling, and say that her character is based on Greek mythology. A fact which was quite surprising for me because I had originally guessed it without knowing for sure, and since I haven't read the books yet, it definitely made me want to. Anyways, these first episodes have been really great. The series is really starting to peak.

Beautiful woman, great voice, and I really appreciate that I was able to see her live with Nightwish before the band tarnished its respectability and lost the fire they had back in the day. I also saw them with Anette, and was able to meet her as well, but the feel was completely different. With Tarja they were a great collaboration, and with Anette they're a tight pop-metal band with bad lyrics, but decent music.
Her solo work thus far has been quite nice, but she's definitely been playing semi-safe rather than trying to stand completely on her own two feet. She does seem happier than before, so I'm quite glad that the break happened. Nightwish have continued to progress towards massive, money hoarding, commercial cow, but still make catchy melodies with overtly pretentious lyrics.

Illyria, hands down, but a Willow (S8) vs. Illyria battle would certainly be a close close call, not to mention a sight to see.

This is good news, although from reading what Amy says, I'm gonna say we'll expect changes. She says So I'd like to know whats changing, I like Evanescence as they were, if she starts singing pop I'm totally going off the rails. And that hair! I mean... wow... I don't think thats what she meant. I think mainly she is referring to the lyrics being stronger, better and more interesting. By stronger I think she is referring to the kind of change that happened between Fallen and TOD. Im pretty sure they arnt changing genre lol. Hmm, neither actually. Primarily, I believe, that particular sentence, as the entire post itself, was meant as a response to Ben Moody's current project "We Are the Fallen" with Rocky and John, two former members of Evanescence's original 2003 debut line-up. Ben Moody and the two other former members have mentioned that We Are the Fallen is supposed to pickup where Evanescence's "Fallen" album ended, which is why Amy talks about not wanting to do the same album twice. There's been some massive back and forth between the two different "camps" as of late. I assume Evanescence is going to continue from The Open Door, with a couple newer elements, including, but not limited to, Amy Lee's newfound harp playing abilities. As for Ben's new band, they seem to really be continuing with the 2003 Evanescence persona, but a bit edgier.

It wasn't dark yet when Julian pulled up in front of his mountainside home. He drove a used black Prius which his fiance had left him, along with the house they were supposed to have shared, to have seen their first child walk for the first time, to have enjoyed night and day in the woods, in their garden. The house was secluded enough from the rest of Harper's Valley. The acreage around it, which Julian had bought, and where a still unassembled playset remained, was now where Julian spent most of his time meditating, listing plants and trees, among all the other things Alice would have done with him.
There was something uneasy about the town as he had passed through. Usually he would stop and go into one of the shoppes, or convenience stores, anywhere, just to not seem impolite, or give the impression that the house remained uninhabited, especially on days like this where he'd spent the last couple of hours away. This time, it had been his publisher, still at a loss for words as to when Julian would turn in his next draft. Today, he did not stop once he got back. Most of the stores seemed to have closed early, or maybe they had not been opened at all.
Samhain Eve. The end of the harvest, as per the Irish. Julian thought about previous celebrations of the day. In San Francisco, they would have celebrated in the Spiral Dance, a theatrical combination of ritual, music, feasting, and vigil. Harper's Valley was anything but celebratory today. I should know what's going on.
He left the book proposals on the nearest end table and headed out towards the town.

Congrats xaphania! Beautiful cover, and it really looks like something I'd pick up as guilty pleasure reading. Well deserved win! (Where is that Sarah photo from, by the way? Hadn't seen it!) Great work everyone else; the entries were all quite awesome. Oh, and Skytteflickan88, the original image I used was actually a promotional shot for The Tudors series on Showtime.

*Name: Julian Lambert *Age: 38 *Sex: Male *Appearance: Julian stands around 6’2” and has fair skin, short medium brown hair, and blue eyes. He's of a medium build - wide shoulders, strong arms, definitely an outdoorsman. Usually seen in casual and somewhat dated attire, due to his mostly loner permacuturalist lifestyle near the mountains; thus, his clothes usually consist of dark-colored hiking boots, an assortment of worn button up shirts, and dark jeans. Julian also maintains his beard, only occasionally trimming it for errands out of town. *Personality: Julian is the town hermit, to say the least. He keeps to himself and is completely dedicated to maintaining his garden as well as exploring the town's surrounding land. Although reserved, Julian is never rude or socially inept. He is, instead, a highly educated individual with a caring and respectful personality whenever he does speak. His seeming introversion is a thin veil to his deep concern towards the well-being of others around him. Julian is also a natural born leader who's just lost his way and shut others out since the death of his fiance. He is an avid reader, writer, and hunter (for food, not sport, and only occasionally, as he is very conscious of life and maintains a mostly organic diet.) Julian is very spiritual and spends a lot of his time meditating and hiking up the mountains. *Profession: Writer (although he hasn't been writing effectively since his loss), and he commonly sells some of his produce to the local market. *Strengths: Julian has extensive knowledge on the history of the town and the surrounding land. He is precise and focused at what he does and can find his way efficiently through the mountains. He is convincing and firm as a leader, being true to his activist past. As a hunter and outdoorsman, he has natural skill in handling weapons, as well as getting out of precarious situations. *Weaknesses: Julian can be impulsive in his fear of letting down those around him. Although he mostly maintains his asthma condition under control, it can sometimes set off due to exertion, anxiety, etc. His concern for others' safety rather than much of his own, can be fatal. *Family: Mother, Agatha Simos (living in Europe as a writer, motivational speaker, and professor); Father, Mark Lambert (deceased) *History/Background: Julian was born in California, but raised in different parts of the world because of his father's work as an anthropologist and writer. His father was dedicated to his son emotionally and in regards to his education. His mother, although also devoted to her son and husband, traveled quite often, but still managed to leave a lasting impression on Julian, especially after his father's heart-related death when the young man was just 26. Julian has a PhD in Literature, and was an avid activist for most of his life until the death of his pregnant fiance, Alice Mather, during a police shootout. Julian had recently bought a home in Harper's Valley, in which he planned to live with Alice and raise their child. Before Alice, Julian had been in several relationships, but had never found what he was looking for until he met her in one of his permaculture classes where they both shared a love for nature, literature, and spirituality among other things. Julian had been a published author but hasn't been able to complete his writings, or felt confident in them, since Alice's death last year.
