When did Taffy become the main character and Echo's permanent imprint? Ha! That's kind of what I thought to myself when out of those 4 awesome posters, this one is obviously the one FOX officially signed off on. Higher quality poster ahead: Personally, I would've gone with this one:

half way through American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Its SO incredible and one of the most imaginative and creative pieces of literature Ive EVER read. Its just amazing and is structured so beautifully. Cant explain how much Im loving this book. I thought NeverWhere was awesome but American Gods is gradually pushing it off the top spot... Glad to see Gaiman readers at Slayalive. American Gods is quite the masterpiece.

This episode was absolutely killer. I'm really digging Hoyt/Jessica (best couple in the series by far) and glad the Maryann storyline will finally be something for Bill and Sookie to contend with.
Godric's death scene was probably my favorite dramatic scene in the series since Sookie's dealing with Gran's death in "Cold Ground."

Fox President Kevin Reilly spoke to iFMagazine and there was one really cool part that stuck out: Definitely awesome news. I'm really hoping the series picks up some more viewers what with all the amazing guest stars and all the buzz about "Epitaph One."

This is really awesome work, TabulaRasa. VampEmmie is quite the stunner, unsurprisingly.

I'm pushing through some serious reading for the next couple of days:
A Passage to India - E. M. Forster Witching Culture: Folklore and Neo-Paganism in America (Contemporary Ethnography) - Sabina Magliocco The Death of Nature: Women, Ecology, and the Scientific Revolution- Carolyn Merchant The Metamorphosis - Franz Kafka
I also just finished (finally!) Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men Vol. 1: Gifted, and absolutely loved it.
Looming on the horizon:
Soulcraft: Crossing into the Mysteries of Nature and Psyche - Bill Plotkin The Spell of the Sensuous: Perception and Language in a More-Than-Human World - David Abram The Stranger - Albert Camus

"No way, BTVS was so much more entertaining."
Honestly, I see both series as being beautifully flawed in different ways, but BTVS played such a major part in my childhood and adolescence, that to this day I still find it far more engaging than Angel. Both had problems at times with writing and plot direction. Personally, I find the Angel/Cordy/Connor plot line to be one of the weakest and most problematic arcs of any Whedon series. Both, I believe, had weak first seasons, even though they're hard to compare in terms of length, as BTVS Season 1 was much shorter, but Angel's first season had the amazing Faith arc and tighter writing and quality overall. (Sidenote: Most may disagree with me, but I'm quite sure that Dollhouse Season 1 was Whedon's finest first season, despite a muddy beginning, and Firefly ranks at a close second.)
If I had to rank the seasons, it would go something like:
1. BTVS Season 2 2. BTVS Season 3 3. Angel Season 5 4. Angel Season 3 5. BTVS Season 4 6. BTVS Season 5 7. Angel Season 2 8. BTVS Season 7 9. Angel Season 1 10. Angel Season 4/BTVS Season 6 11. BTVS Season 1
As another sidenote, I see BTVS as much more a series about the power of the individual, recognizing that power and using it to empower others, than I see it as a "growing pains" story, whereas Angel for me is a story about coming to term with your past and taking your place in a world that's against you. Both are stories of champions, but I see BTVS as far more directed towards issues of inequality, otherness, and community, and Angel towards justice, redemption, and society.
As far as the comics go, I really haven't liked where Angel has headed, and though I've had some isssues with the writing in both continuations, BTVS: Season Eight has been so much more exciting for me thematically. Twilight is by far Whedon's best villain in the Buffy/Angel verse, IMHO.

Thank you so much to everyone! Wow, I'm really glad you liked my cover. Serious shout-out to TabulaRasa for that beautiful Anya piece as well. The entries were awesome as always, so let's keep it up! We have some very talented individuals here.

1. Willow 2. The Beast/Illyria (Pre-Time Bomb) 3. Buffy 4. Hamilton/Caleb/Glory (at full strength)/Twilight (possibly? He's clearly physically stronger than Buffy, but it's doubtful the Slayer won't eventually overpower him as she did with Caleb and Glory.) 5. Faith (hard to rank, but my personal, and possibly biased, impression is that she is almost as strong as Buffy physically, but doesn't have the Buff's über-willpower, years of training, and super-friends to help.) 6. Illyria (de-powered) 7. Glory (only weaker than the above once de-powered) 8. Angel/Spike (Hard to rank, but I have to admit my bet is on Spike) 9. Connor 10. Groosalugg

o ok. She'll probably make some random appearance in the future since her story isn't an integrel one. It could work, but I'm quite sure the writers are heavily concentrating on the main established cast right now, including more essential slayers like Satsu and Kennedy. I wouldn't mind a Dana one-shot though, but with almost 2000 slayers on our hands, it will probably be a while until that happens, if it ever does. Issue Five, "The Chain," opened that possibility up as much as it closed it by emphasizing the slayer as a shared power, a shared responsibility. The power of the individual is important and beautiful in its own right, but right now Joss is just starting to hone in on the bigger picture of the season.

Who didn't see it coming though? It didn't make me as angry as hearing Bow Wow saying "They need sapce" a few days ago. No that's not what's needed, Chris Brown needs his dick kicked in. He really does. Then again, the rampant misogyny and objectification in popular media equally needs to be given a decent kick in its balls. He should give up huge proportions of future profit to charities dedicated to domestic abuse. He really should.

Sounds interesting, to say the least, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a post-engagement "recurring memories/feelings" deal, and not a full on lesbian affair. Especially considering Caroline is heterosexual, for all we know, and Echo is still basically a child mentally.

I edited my post above in order to expand on what magic is considered to be in my personal tradition, where I felt I had been too vague previously. It seems the majority of us believe in the "supernatural", which is interesting in regards to the series that has brought us together. I remember not being able to breathe from laughing so hard at Willow's response to her college Wiccan group which was a very realistic depiction of college Wiccans despite being an obvious caricature made to juxtapose reality ("Talk. All talk. Blah, blah, Gaia. Blah, blah, moon. Menstrual life-force power thingy.") and fiction (Willow's impressive witchy array of floating pencils, fireballs, locator spells). I've also enjoyed reading everyone's ghostly encounters. Keep them coming!

Joe, I got these two and a couple of others, but I believe these were the most appropriate. I've also put them in the a spoiler tag so that those who haven't seen the episode aren't, well, spoiled. Victor as Clive Ambrose Echo as Russian Girl
