I think the reason the writers' chose Kennedy for Willow is because she is the complete antithesis of Tara. Many fans (myself included) found their relationship jarring in Season 7. Willow kills for the woman she loves and then find herself in a relationship the very next season? it just doesn't make sense, and frankly it's a slap in the face to fans. I think the right thing to do would have been to give Willow the season to mourn her relationship. Honestly, it blows my mind that she and Kennedy are STILL together in season 8. Is this like the longest running relationship in the Whedonverse or what?! I don't necessarily wish for Kennedy to die, I just wish the two would break up already!

^^ I wonder what kind of special features there will be? I'm hoping for commentaries but I know that's a long shot. I do hope we get something extra. Something's gotta make it worth my while to buy these twice.

Just finished watching Wolves at the Gate part III that was released today. Overall, I really enjoyed this ep and thought it was well done. I am sooooooo glad they fixed the pronunciation of scythe (in a preview from a few months back they were saying it as "sith"). Gotta say that giant Dawn is even more annoying in motion. lol. And Renee's death is that much harder.

I finally got a chance to begin watching my S2 Blu-ray last night and love it, love it, love it! Watched Vows and Instincts (a fave ep of mine). Haven't gotten to all the special goodies (besides the Vows commentary from Joss - interesting stuff) but can't wait to see them!
The only down side to watching S2 all over again is that is really makes me miss the show even more. Then I become bitter that it was canceled looooooong before its time. The show had such great potential, its a shame FOX was too stupid to realize that. It deserves to still be on!

Wow. I really hope Dawnie isn't dead but it sure doesn't look good for her right now does it? I really don't think Xander could take another loss. I truly am worried what will happen to him/what he will do if he loses yet another woman he cares about. Not to mention the endless ways Dawn's demise could send Buffy off the deep end. Hopefully this is just a mislead and she is simply knocked out or something...

Read this issue twice already and love it! The Buffy/Spike interaction is awesome (definitely the best part of the issue for me. The voices were in character and everything was great), and Buffy's daydream about Spike -hilarious! I thought it was really happening until I realized it wasn't! Haha. Nice mislead there. The Dawn/Xander stuff was cute, but it makes me worry even more for Dawn's safety.

I love the covers, especially the Jo Chen one. Buffy just looks so heartbroken and defeated and the scythe is all beaten up and broken. Looks like its been through quite a battle. I also love how this cover is a mirror to the first issue cover. Seems fitting, imo. I really like Jeanty's cover. Is there a reason they're wearing all black or is this just coincidence? (I've heard some speculation of mourning but boy I hoe not). Also, judging by the appearance of the crater and the sign (which I love, btw) we can assume they are returning to Sunnydale? And How is Angel standing in the sun. Maybe it is a sunset and not a sunrise? Can't wait for this issue!

The Yoko Factor. I love the interaction between Riley and Angel and Angel's pettiness. Plus the haha smirk he gives Riley as he is leaving the room to talk with Buffy - Priceless. I also love the scene where all the scoobies are bickering with each other. Such a funny episode. : :

I think it's hard to say which "Buffy" I identify with the most. I know it's not really seasons 1-3 Buffy anymore, because I have long moved past that phase in my life and am in a very different place now. I still enjoy seasons 1-3 Buffy though, for the nostalgic feelings it brings me. If I had to choose, I would probably say I identify most with seasons 5-7 Buffy. In S5 when she is just beginning to take on more responsibility in life, becoming a mother to her sister, etc., and especially S7 when she becomes mentor, teacher, mother figure, not only to Dawn but to a bunch of other girls as well. Yep. I would say that is pretty much where I am in life right now, feeling the pull of that "maternal instinct," or what have you. Although, I admit there are more than a few days when I still feel like Buffy in S6, wondering where my life is going, etc.

I don't know if this has been mentioned...but in Surprise, Buffy and Dru were wearing the same dress in Buffy's dream. I've always wondered if this was simply an oversight by the costume department, or if it supposed to mean something? Maybe it was because in her dreams Buffy kept envisioning Dru killing Angel, when really Buffy herself "killed" Angel, in a sense, by taking his soul away, and then would later have to kill him for real.. Anyway, I am sure you were looking for a much more deeper and philosophical answer to this question, but I just don't have one right now.

Replace sexiest with repulsive and we're good to go. I'll give you this though - I am much fonder of season 6 now than ever before. Right there with ya. Seeing the two of them go at it this ep really just doesn't do anything for me. I know a lot of people get excited about it but for me it's just, meh. I do like S6 overall, though. And it's not that I'm a spuffy hater, but there are aspects of their relationship I did not like during this season.

For me, it was the idea that for the Slayer, the presence of nearby vampires manifests as menstrual cramps. Seriously, what the fuck? Haha, gotta agree with you on this one.

Another point that made them feel like a family was when Willow came home she felt like out of place a little. Xander/Buffy/Dawn were this little family unit and were living life with out her and she felt misplaced. Here's a screen cap showing the "Family Numbers" And has Buffy, Xander, and Dawn's number written down. Not Giles, not willow, not even her father's number, just B/X/D. Great finds here, sosalola. I think Willow finding the address book was a deliberate move by the writers to highlight Willow's sense of isolation from the group. She had been gone for a while and came back wondering what her place was and where she fit in with the group. Willow: For some reason, I really have trouble seeing her as a mother figure, even though she and Tara were Dawn's primary caregivers while Buffy was dead. Maybe it's because of what happened in subsequent episodes, where Willow became more and more reckless, leaving Tara as the responsible one who was actually looking out for Dawn. I share your feelings in regards to Willow. If anything, it seems that Tara was more the mother figure for Dawn. But if you recall, earlier in S8 Dawn confides to Buffy that Willow is like a mom to her, so it's obvious that this is how Dawn sees Willow. I would agree that out of everyone, Buffy is arguably the one who is the most motherly to Dawn, having stepped in and filled that role when Joyce died. She then became both sister and mother to Dawn. As for Xander, I never really saw him in the father role, but definitely the older-brother type role. Of course, given recent events in S8, even that is disturbing.

Oh, this is a tough one. So many great flashback eps in Angel. Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been and Destiny or definitely two of my faves. I also love any of the ones with Darla. And TGIQ and Orpheus as well. Like I said, great flashback eps.

Out of these: Selfless and Fool for Love definitely fall at the top of my list. Becoming Part I comes in a veeery close second.
