And Deathisyourgift: I just started reading the Sword of Truth series of books that the Legend of the Seeker is based off of. My boyfriend has them, and i asked him for something good to read... I am on the 5th book now, and they are amazing! The Wizard's rules are definately rules to live by. I watched one episode of the show which had absolutely nothing to do with the books, so i don't know if i will be watching anymore of them, but as a standalone show it was ok. I had heard Sam Raimi was supposed to make it into a movie, and then a t.v. show but then it somehow ended up with Disney, which explains why they can't put some stuff out of the books in it i guess, cause it has to be wholesome and all. But i highly reccomend the books if you haven't read them, you won't be dissapointed. I think in all, there are 11 or 12. Yeah I've been wanting the books for a while now, but I have like 7 books that I already own that are currently on my waiting-to-read-list, so I guess that can wait:) As for Disney ruining the story: so typical. The show is well shot though, and the acting isn't bad, so for someone who hasn't read the books as you have, siredbyspike, I can say I find it enjoyable, however I do not doubt you opinion that the books are better and the show now has nothing to do with them. They probably are way better haha. Thanks for the input, I'll definitely get around to the books now!

Most of all I just love the typical Buffy ending of "oh no! eggs in the closet!!" And then we never deal with that again haha, thanks a lot Joss!! There's a line cut from "First Date" when Xander asks Lissa/Lyssa: “Did you hatch out of a preying mantis egg in the old high school?” I always just kind of kept that connection in my head. No way!! Damn you Joss you are too clever for the likes of me!! Thanks for that, I'll keep my ears at the ready when I get to that ep.

I've never heard anyone bash Zoolander. It's a favourite amongst my friends lol. It must be a regional thing haha. Where I live no one really appreciates the genius that is Zoolander Southland Tales. Does that count? It was an amazing film, it upsets me a great deal knowing that Southland Tales wasn't given a chance. It only grossed around $350.000.00, perhaps if the film was promoted more, it would have received the credit it deserved. TRUE THAT

I really enjoy watching Fringe. It's like X-Files but more based in real world science. There's a lot going on already and its' just midway through the first season, I'm hooked. Do you watch House? If not, then I recommend it. If yes and you hate it, then never mind. There's a pretty interesting show called Legends of the Seeker on pretty late Sunday nights (for me anyways) and it's on ABC. It's fantasy and reminds me of Buffy at times. Here's a link to the show's site: www.legendoftheseeker.com/That's all I can think of for now, good luck I hope you find something that satisfies your need for fresh new GOOD tv..hard to find lately :broody:

I'm a sucker for S1, and I love this episode. Probably because it is Xander-centric.
I love that the boys who brag about how many times they've "done it" are really virgins. I love that the first thing Buffy uses against the giant monster praying mantis is two cans of insect repellent. I love that Giles is constantly doubting Buffy's guesses, and then when she's right he usually slams his hand on the desk/table and shouts "Of course!"
Most of all I just love the typical Buffy ending of "oh no! eggs in the closet!!" And then we never deal with that again haha, thanks a lot Joss!!
I give it 4/5

I've never played, but I watched my friend play a lot and it looks SO fun. I like how they tied in the Disney aspect, and the plot is usually pretty sweet. I must get a gaming system and play it!!

I have to agree with you on "Fifth Element", ElDiabloRobotico, that movie is such an experience. The "future" they created was quirky and yet still real. Plus I'm so in love with Bruce Willis AND Milla Jovovich...I'd do it with both of them..sorry if that was vulgar.. Another movie that I love that most people diss is "Zoolander". Ben Stiller is great in it, but the reason I watch it is Owen Wilson and of course, more Milla Jovovich. hahaha, The first time I saw this movie, I hated it. Then I saw it again somehow, and I liked it, and the more I watch it, the more I love it. I pick up on little jokes that go under the radar the first couple viewings. And then there's just the blatant one liners that are so priceless. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the walk-off judged by David Bowie, and the Orange-Mocha-Frappuccino scene set to "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go", AND the cameos by Andy Dick as the creepy Swedish massage lady in Mugatu's day spa/sleeper cell training center, Jon Voight and Vince Vaughn as Derek's father and brother, and David Duchovny as the ex-hand model. If I think of any more, I'll post them, but for now here's a few Zoolander quotes "I have negotiated my butt off, Giorgio." "Sting would be another person who 's a hero. The music that he's created...I don 't really listen to it...But the fact that he's making it, I respect that..." "Hey there, Derek. My name is Lil' Kleatus. I'm just a kid who wants you to know the truth about child labor laws. They're silly and outdated. In the good old days kids as young as five could work as they pleased, from textile factories to iron smelts. Yippee! Hooray! But today, the age-old right of children to work is under attack. From the Philippines to Bangladesh, in China and India, and South America too. But you can help these children, Derek, by killing the prime minister of Malaysia!!" "I can "dere-lick" my own balls, thank you very much. You think you're too cool for school. But I got a news flash for you, Walter Cronkite..You aren't." "Derek and Matilda are hiding 'cause some dudes brainwashed Derek to off the prime minister of Micronesia. - Malaysia. - Right. So, they're gonna be hiding here. Let's show them a good time." "When suddenly I remember, "Holy shit. Hansel...haven't you been smoking peyote for six straight days? And couldn't some of this, maybe, be in your mind??' -And? -It was. I was totally fine." "For Christ's sake, it's a casserole, Sheila! It'll stay!"

Wowie Zowie, kudos to everyone for all the great quotes, I am now all out of my faves!
I LOVE the Anya quote from "The Body"..gets me every time.
Pretty much any Xander quote ever is a favorite of mine.."bitca?"
Faith's got some really good ones, on both shows.
Wesley, oh Wesley..his entire script in "Spin the Bottle" is genius.
The only quotes I can think of that haven't been stated yet are from "Restless":
Willow's Dream- (stage. Buffy is haranguing Riley while Harmony cries in the background) BUFFY: (with contempt) But what else could I expect from a bunch of low-rent, no-account hoodlums like you? Hoodlums, yes, I mean you and your friends, your whole sex, throw 'em in the sea for all I care, throw 'em in and wait for the bubbles, men with your groping and spitting all groin no brain three billion of you passing around the same worn-out urge. Men! With your ... sales!
Xander's Dream- SPIKE: Giles here is gonna teach me to be a Watcher. Says I got the stuff. GILES: Spike's like a son to me. XANDER: That's good. I was into that for a while, but... I got other stuff goin' on. You gotta have something. Gotta be with movin' forward. BUFFY: (like a proud little kid) Like a shark. XANDER: Like a shark with feet and ... much less fins. SPIKE: (like a proud little kid) And on land! GILES: Very good!
Giles' Dream- WILLOW: Rupert. You've gotta focus. You must have some kind of explanation. If we don't know what we're fighting, I don't think we stand a chance. (Giles frowns, goes to the stage and begins to sing.) GILES: (sings) It's strange, it's not like anything we've faced before. It seems familiar somehow. Of course! The spell we cast with Buffy Must have released Some primal evil that's come back seeking... I'm not sure what... Willow, look through the chronicles For some reference To a warrior beast I've got to warn Buffy There's every chance she might be next Xander, help Willow (Shot of Willow and Xander holding up cigarette lighters while reading the books.) GILES: (sings) And try not to bleed on my couch I've just had it steam-cleaned. No, wait...
Buffy's Dream- RILEY: Oh. We're drawing up a plan for world domination. The key element? Coffeemakers that think. BUFFY: World domination? I-is that a good? RILEY: Baby, we're the government. It's what we do. ADAM: She's uncomfortable with certain concepts. It's understandable. Aggression is a natural human tendency. (Looks at Buffy) Though you and me come by it another way. BUFFY: We're not demons. ADAM: Is that a fact? RILEY: Buffy, we've got important work here. A lot of filing, giving things names. COMPUTER VOICE: The demons have escaped. Please run for your lives. ADAM: This could be trouble. RILEY: We better make a fort. ADAM: (nodding) I'll get some pillows.
So those are the only ones I can think of for now..Great quotes you guys. *bows and backs away*

I would have prefered Hank visiting. Hank Summers? haha I happen to enjoy Andrew, throughout his stay in Sunny-D and LA. I think that AtS has a very different tone, one that is much more sober and, as skytteflickan88 also said, more "doom-and-gloom." Andrew's appearance in S5 of Angel also allows us to know that he is still involved with the slayers, which we now see played out fully in the S8 Buffy comics. He has moved from lackey to fully-fledged member of the slayer army. He trains the newly called slayers, and helps command the legions out of Buffy's range. I think seeing Xander on Angel would've been weird, to be honest, because Xander is so entirely Buffy's domain, whereas someone like Andrew is not as permanently connected to Buffy, i.m.o.
