I completely disagree! Angel has been my number 1 suspect for ages now. I think it fits his characterisation perfectly and will be really happy if this cover turns out to be true. It's not the concept of Angel being Twilight that bothers me, although I would find it puzzling and completely out of left field. What bothers me is a) that Dark Horse would completely undercut the reveal in #33 with a commercial solicit. It would be like putting out a poster for "The Sixth Sense" that says THE SIXTH SENSE: BRUCE WILLIS IS DEAD THE WHOLE TIME. And b) After what he's done to her and her friends, if Buffy is making out with him just because he's *siiiiigh* Angel, my soulmate, then she's a blithering idiot. If I want to see a story where the hero is a blithering idiot, I'll rent "Dumb & Dumberer." |

i dont think that twi would be angel... unlike a lot of you... i just dont think itrs angel... i know angel would anything to end with evil...(see season 4, qhen he killed jasmine?) but i dont think he would cheat on buffy like that... why end the magic and kill a lot of slayers on the process?  not angel... he woudnt kill so many innocent people... angelus on the other hand... could do.... about jumpimg the shark.... when i frist watch season 6 i thought " why they killing the series like that???" and just like the series finale, after i watched a few times, i begun too see the beautiful behind it... i think season 8 its going the same way.... the predators and prey arc was a stain in the season for me... but after the retreat i think joss is well aware of what his doing... i think its gonna be legendary, an epic season towards the end... just like when she begins to fly... it was there all the time, but NO ONE expected.... and the twilight identity gonna be like that... so for me... the cover menas 2 things... one angels gonna appears in season 8... two, they messing with us.... about the kiss... i think they will kiss... and that kiss its gonna be a way to show to buffy if she really want xander or not... |

I wouldn't take the covers so literally. They're probably shown kissing and in romantic poses because B/A is about romance. It's being ironic. If Angel is Twilight (and Twilight is the betrayer) than it makes so much sense in regards to the Buffy/Angel/Spike threesome panel. Joss instructed Jeanty to have Buffy lean “ closer to Angel” and the betrayal is by “the closest, the most unexpected.” He’s going for what would hurt Buffy the most and that’s why the covers are showing how in love they were because it’s going to hurt Buffy terribly. It doesn't mean that Buffy and Angel do actually kiss anymore than Faith really burnt her dress in #9. It's just symbolic. |

OK I'll be honest, to me this just screams of fake out. I highly doubt that Joss would allow such a huge reveal to be on the front cover and sent out before the comic itself was, he might've been a little off with some of the stories this season but he's not that off. I'm guessing these are with fake covers to build up talk about the comic before the real ones hit the shelves, it's either that or it's just a giant joke on us and twilght'll be someone else completely... or Warren built a robot Angel and he got out of hand.
All I know is that Buffy season 8 is in the same time frame as either Season 5 of Angel or even the Angel comics, which is the same reason why Spike hasn't been in season 8 because Spikes in LA with Angel. I seriously think this has to be a fakeout, because logically there's no way they could have a timline issue this big and not notice it... OK so now i'm having blind hope on this one, embrace

It makes no story sense for her to be kissing him, symbolic or otherwise.
There is simply no way to spin Twilight's actions in this season as anything other than evil. If Angel is Twilight, then Angel is evil.
The only plausible response for Buffy, upon discovering that Twilight is Angel, would be killing rage. A betrayal of this magnitude, at this point, puts things far beyond the realm of claddagh rings or Sunnydale snowfall or cookie dough speeches to put right. Buffy needs to wipe him from the face of the earth, forever.
But it doesn't matter, because these covers are not real. It's an April Fools joke (albeit a somewhat cruel one for Bangel fans) that's designed to keep the secret of Twilight while still allowing Dark Horse to put something in the solicits.
I'd lay even money that Angel doesn't even appear in the season at all.
I'm not a very trusting person, but I trust that the creative team on this comic have not all collectively become idiots. Because releasing the real covers in this way would be idiotic.

The Dark Horse site is always a little slow. Comics Continuum always gets the solicits out first, usually followed by Comic Book Resources the next day. CBR is the one with the hi-res covers, so the covers will be updated with the hi-res versions when made available. Of course, they could merely be hi-res versions of the fake covers...

WTF? O.o Angel is Twilight??? If this is true i am totally at a loss, I'm laughing at the sheer confusion of it all. I was suspecting it to be a future Giles or Xander, but Angel? What sense does that make? The whole cover could be a hoax to keep us in suspense so the real Twilight would be a total shocker, and that in this issue Angel will just appear and this is Joss's way of telling us that Angel's back. But that's just my personal speculation if Angel isn't Twilight. If he is...i seriously want a great explanation for it, and if it's from Joss the man himself than i know it will be. I just want to add for my personal questions, I'm hoping that with Angel coming back that Spike isnt far behind, i forgot which interview i had read but the question was if Spike and Angel would appear again?The answer was "when things get really bad" Unless I'm miss informed or read it wrong. I mean if Angel's back then Spike can't be far behind right? But till this issue is out this is all i can do |

But really whAt had Twilight done. All i have seen him do is stand around. He fought Buffy but he wasnt really there to fight but to talk. To me at this point Twilight doesnt even seem like the big bad. We dont know him enough to be sure of anything, we dont know that hes actually even giving the orders, could be just as harmless as Riley. Infact Twilight could be the mole. Angel would go majorly undercover to protect Buffy. Just a thought, they better pull something good outta their hats thoe cause so far (for me) this season is a stinker

Just throwing it out there, someone mentioned about how the cover may not actually represent WHAT happens in the comic. and would be horrifically ironic to have the covers depicting how buffy and angel were/should be on a comic where Buffy and Angel are at war.
Think, the dinner scene in the body, before were brought back to reality. Or when Buffy dreams that they save her mother in time, they are in the ambulance, everything is fine...BAM reality.
Selfless, you get to see a unseen Anya song, them BAM back to reality and Anya with a sword through her chest.
This could be Joss' version of this in the comic world. If its Angel, i trust Joss, im just dissapointed the cover ruined it for me before i got to the reveal.

Angel would do anything to keep Buffy safe, he's proven that time and time again. |

Like i said we dont know who ordered ther scottland base to be blown up and it probley was Twilight but something has always seemed...i guess lame, about him. Not that i could really get behind Angel standing around and watching as slayers are killed but i think he would for the greater good.I just think as epic as this season is that there just has to be more, i just dont think we are there yet. |

Well one thing i can say for sure is that they are evil for showing us these covers, and thats why they did it. Joss knew he could and that we still wouldnt be any closer to knowing anything! Tricky tricky!
