Actually Amber only backed out of coming back as The First, Joss decided not to go with the wish thing, he never asked her back that way.
i would want Cordy back though. Season 5 of Angel just wasn't right without her. She really grew over the time on Angel. I would love to see how they would work her back into Buffy, not being the bitch she was when she left.
My second choice would be Anya though.
I wouldn't like Tara to come back. I loved Tara, but her story ended well. If they brought her back then it would ruin Seeing Red. Coming back from the dead wouldn't work I don't think. I just wouldn't like that to happen.

Why ? 'Cos you don't really like any character that is dead ? Or you're not so into "resurrestion thing" ?

There's a quote out there somewhere by Joss saying that they couldn't arrange for Amber to come back, to do the wish episode. It was a matter of not being able to do it, not a matter of changing his mind.

I picked anya, but ideally i hope they all stay dead.
If someone who is dead keeps coming back to life, then their death loses its meaning, its impact. If a character gets resurrected, then that means every time a character dies we wouldn't care because we'd just think they can be brought back to life later on. There would be no big emotional impact on the audience.
Buffy was an exception, she is after all the star of the show and her death was supernatural. Spike too. But beyond those two, no one should be brought back.
I was just thinking about this very thing while watching charmed. I mean, how many times have the sisters died? When it ----possible spoiler-----------happened yet again in the finale, i didn't give a shit because i knew they'd just be brought back to life somehow.
Life would have no meaning if there was no death.

I want Fred to come back to life. I heard that was the plan, anyway. But Fred wasn't an option, so I picked Jenny.
Cordelia would be good too. I really hated how her character was destroyed by everyone thinking that evil Jasmine possessing her body was really her. Then she was dead. She had one good day after that, but overall, the heart of the show destroyed and abandoned. It sucked.

It seems like there's a lot more room for crossovers in a comic. Have you heard if Spike will be in Season 8? Obviously, you're saying that Angel won't, since it won't have any Angel characters. That's too bad, as well.

There aren't going to be any Angel characters in Buffy Season 8. Does it mean that they all died in the final fight ??

There aren't going to be any Angel characters in Buffy Season 8. Does it mean that they all died in the final fight ?? I don't think Joss ever said that they weren't going to appear. Only that a different comic book company owns the license to Angel, and while he can use the characters if he wants too, it would be sparingly/minimal. However it would be pretty daft not to use Spike and Angel at least once, they were pretty big hits with fans. Don't quote me on that though, because I read it on an online interview somewhere, which would take me a little while to refind and ultimately prove the above. EDIT: Actually, not as hard as I thought. The interview can be seen here: (Copy and paste url into new window) www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Interviews-Features/Article/default.aspx?posting=%7B0C084F89-5673-43B9-9FFC-022578DAA927%7DOr, here's a section from there that mentions the Angel news:

Here is a more RECENT interview with Joss, where what he says backs up my original statement somewhat.
"GEEKMONTHY.COM: I read your comments about how you’re going to use Spike and Angel sparingly for the big moments, but does the Angel deal with IDW interfere at all with the use of those characters or any of the characters from Angel?
JOSS: It’s very simply that I feel that IDW is doing a good job, working hard and we shouldn’t confuse readers or take business away from them. They took the license and ran with it. Legally I could use anybody I want to, but I feel like, in the way the shows became their own universes, it makes sense for the comics to do the same. I won’t be using the ancillary characters from Angel unless I absolutely think that nobody else can fit this bill. Spike and Angel I will definitely use, but sparingly. But I would do that anyway. You don’t want to use it up by having Spike standing around in the background of every frame. He means so much to Buffy, so did Angel, that you want to save them for the big hits."

So as of right now, it doesn't look like there are any Angel characters planned so far.

Um, that's really no different from anything I said, only I seem to consider Angel and Spike to be "Angel" characters (because they were when the Buffyverse came to an end) yet you seem to not. There's really no difference at all between the two articles... But to answer Northernstar, the fact that there will be use of Angel and Spike implies that they did survive the final fight

I do not count Angel and Spike as "Angel characters". They began on Buffy, and have been on both shows. Also, they're love interests of Buffy. None of the original Angel characters have a connection to the Scooby Gang.
"I won’t be using the ancillary characters from Angel unless I absolutely think that nobody else can fit this bill." -- sures sounds to me like Fred won't be appearing. :-P Don't get me wrong, I like Fred. But with all that will be going on in Season 8, I doubt they're going to pause the story to bring in some Angel cameos and be like "Yay, Fred's alive! *10 pages later* Okay, bye now everyone!". LOL

None of the original Angel characters have a connection to the Scooby Gang. No offence (since I know you're going to smite me for this) but how can you not consider Angel to be an "Angel" character? He's the star of the show? I'm fairly sure if you asked the majority of the board, most people would think of him as more of an "Angel" character than a "Buffy" character anyday. I mean, look at Girl Power's last post above. You even confused people by your statement that there'd be no Angel characters in Season 8.

Angel is a Buffy character. Wesley is a Buffy character. Spike is a Buffy character. Cordy, Harmony, etc.
Fred, Lorne, Conner, etc...are Angel characters, made specifically for that universe.

I think for the stories sake all the main characters that have died need to stay that way (as much as I miss them...). I agree with the other user that said it would make their deaths meaningless and each death had meaning and took the remaining characters to another place in their lives. This includes characters like Anya, Cordy, Fred and Tara (sniff).
However it may be fun and interesting to have some minor characters come back. I vote for Johnathan cause he was their from the beginning and he cracked me up!
