im just curious to see some of your answers.... im kinda getting discouraged about my grades, and my potential future. I have a 2.7 GPA right now, and my grades are not great (A's, B's, C's). My mom is REALLY stressing over me getting in to college and what im going to do for the rest of my life. So getting back to the question, how well did you do (or are you doing) in high school?

Aw, PJ, I'm sure you'll do great on your exams! Do you have any after school study class things? Are these your final exams? For my standard grades I got 2's in five subjects, and in the other three I got a 3 and two 4's. (1 is high, 7 is low) I know, weird Scottish school system. The only thing I regret about my SG's is not getting a 1 in music because I'm too nervous to play infront of an examiner. For my highers I didn't do so good. I got a B, C, D, and a B. I'm happy with my B's but with the other's I really put no effort into the classes or into studying because I didn't really take them seriously. Because of that my teacher told me to leave the school, and it was too late to apply for college then so I've had a year out looking for work and I'm going to college in a few months to do a HNC/HND. It's probably good that you're worried about your grades, because now you can really try your best. You don't want to end up not caring.

Um, generally I get a mix of A's and B's in English. Math I used to consistently go A-B-C-B, but this year it was straight Cs. Most of the time in my other classes I get As, but that's because they're academic classes... or art. Which I'm taking for the fifth time with the same teacher this semester, so yeah.
I'm sure your mom doesn't need to be stressing about college though. You won't be going to Princeton, but I bet you'll be able to make it to a state school. If not, you can always go to a community college for a year to save money, and then transfer.

I didn't do as well as I would've liked. I was just all over the place. Freshman year I would get an A in a class one quarter and an F the next. Sophomore year I screwed up big time, just stopped caring. Failed nearly every class, had to go to summer school, and if I failed one more time I wouldn't graduate so that was real wake up call. Finished off my final two years with A-Cs with a final GPA of 82 (C). So I was an "average" student. Grades are lame, measured by how much work you do instead of knowledge, but just do the work and you'll get by. Maybe take some AP classes your senior year and that'll really help with colleges.

I was pretty much average making A's, B's and C's. Whenever I had to do presentations or anything in front of the class. Almost every time I'd averaged it out and took the F. Yes I was that shy and because of this usually brought my final grade down to and C or a D. I had that attitude of at least I passed. I'd probably can count how many presentations I had to do on my hand that I either rushed through or stayed in the background. Which by the way I now realized I really should have got over it. Oh well. I was also the one that everybody wanted to "work" with in a group. Lol.

At my second school my biology teacher let me do a power point presentation because he knew I was more into computers than some of the other students, and instead having to present it he just printed it out and put it on his wall. In an English class a teacher agreed to let me just hand him an essay instead.

^^Yeah there were a couple times I got away with just handing in my project or whatever instead of presenting it. Now that I am thinking back on it I think it was probably 2 or 3 times I took a failing or half a grade otherwise some teachers let me off too.

I think I graduated with around a 3.8 GPA in High School, which basically means I was a B+ student. In college I dipped a bit, finishing with around a 3.0 GPA, or B average.

Offer to clean the lab supplies for your science teacher, I got an extra point out of that. Child labor? Maybe. But my one and only Honor Roll pin thinks it's worth it.

I get that you want to please parents and not disappoint them, but when it comes down to it do what's best for yourself without feeling pressure. If you don't you might crack like I did. I was that golden child to everybody that was suppose to go straight to college and all that good stuff. This was at a time where I wasn't ready to go straight to college. One day I realized I was doing what everyone expected or wanted me to do. In other words I was wasting a lot of money. Finally I stopped caring about what everybody else think and starting caring about what I wanted to do. Believe me when I realized that it made school, work and life a lot easier. As long as you do your best from here on out there's nothing anyone should be stressing over.

Her older sister is at UPenn now, which is Ivy League. So for a while she felt like she needed to live up to her sister, but she really just couldn't. Who could? Even though it's hard, I would suggest just accepting your own limitations and just be your own person. If you're happy with yourself I'm sure your parents will be content too.

Currently, I have about a 3.4 GPA, which is quite a leap up from my 2.2 sophomore year... that year, I completely stopped caring about grades. But this year, my ambition is back, and I have all A's except for a C- in math. I had a B-, but I failed a test a few weeks ago and I think I failed another one on Friday, so I'm expecting it to go down to a D. I know, I know, no one's fault but my own. And I'm sure you'll be just fine getting into college! Just keep trying hard, and focus on what you want.

Ooh, I forgot about D's. My school district got rid of them when I was in middle school, so all throughout calculus I was teetering on the edge of failing, and completely freaking out. I'm jealous.

I failed high school, only passed one subject when I graduated. Got D's for everything except for Drama, in which I got a C, though I was averaging B-C in that subject. Half way through my final year, I just stopped caring about school. Hated it
