My shop doesn't even get the new comics out until about 3 PM, so even if it was practical for me to get there at lunch, it would do me no good. And I don't get off work until 6 PM, so it's an extra long wait.

They are in-line outside my shop at 10AM on Wednesday!

I don't think it matters even if you have hardcore readers. Most stores are subject to delivery times. My store doesn't get their delivery until about 1pm, and the new books are out till about 2pm. It really can't be helped at all.

I believe my shop gets its delivery in early afternoon. Then they have to go through and separate out the copies that belong to pull-box subscribers (like me) and fill the boxes. There are about 200 of those. Then the remaining issues have to be sorted in alphabetical order and put out on the shelves.
There are a LOT fewer people waiting around for their comics than there were 7 or 8 years ago, when I first got into comics. There used to be a dozen nerds standing around, and the store guy would have to keep telling them to back up and give him room to stock the shelves before they descended on it like locusts. Now there's hardly anyone there.

Luckily for me I have Newbury comics shop within 5 min drive from my office - and the team of colleagues who understand what nerdish obsessions are all about. Needless to say I was jesting with you, AC. I am so happy my NC gets their copies on Tuesdays though...

There are plenty around there, but don't know how easy they would be for you to get to. www.comicshoplocator.com/Only one more day to go! I miss the Allie Q&A's. Normally around this time I'd be writing down questions on a piece of scrap paper.

^^I do still live in the Bay Area, just in a farther, funkier, stinkier, lamer city than before. Ooo. Thanks to your link, though I found one in a city next to mine. Karmas!

Today's the day! New Buffy! We should have planned some kind of party or something to celebrate the end of the drought. Maybe go out and dance around in the rain with glasses of champagne? Can't wait to see if Marcie Ross turns up in this issue.

The guest appearance is not Marcie, but Whistler.

The guest appearance is not Marcie, but Whistler. While I can't say I've ever had a burning desire to see Whistler again, I do wonder what he has to do with all this Twilight stuff... is he pro or anti, and will he be talking to Angel or to Riley?

Oh, you have to read it to believe it... Whistler is sent by the PtBs and it is them indeed that made Angel to become Twilight. Whistler is also saying that he had 'seen many possible futures' and the only one in which the war is not lost and the world is save would be the one in which Angel does not say anything to Buffy and basically follow the path that he had followed as Twilight

I always knew the Powers That Be weren't the "good guys."
I think this is all setting up what I've suspected for quite some time... that Buffy's ultimate battle will be against the PtB's themselves.

Btw... I think we can drop the spoiler tags now. If people already have the book in their hands, then discussion about spoilers should become fair game. So spoil away without the cumbersome spoiler tags.
