Didn't Georges say he already had the first couple of scripts for the arc? He must have, since he'd better be well on his way for an issue that's due out in 5 weeks.
So Scott can only be co-writing the last 2 or 3 issues.

I dunno. I guess Whedon is talking about the past in Scott co-writing. Jeanty was already finished with #37 at this point a month ago, and he has all the scripts now. So I'm guessing this trip to LA that Scott took was quite a while ago.

From what I remembered, I thought Georges already had all the scripts. Granted, that was my impression when I was editing his responses. That sentence was a little garbled (you know when you switch thoughts mid-sentence, but forget to correct the earlier part so that it flows properly), but I thought that was what he meant... in fact, there was no other way that I could interpret it. I know Joss' statement was kinda present/future tense-y, but I'm also entertaining the idea that the scripts have already been written, and there's just some fine tuning left to do, if even. This is a direct quote of what Georges sent me, before I edited it: So I don't think I took any serious liberties in interpreting that. Which means, that Georges does have all the scripts already. Last time I checked a while back, Georges was already working on #37. #36 will come out on time. At least it has no reason not to.

Emmie- PMed!
I probably agree that Scott only co-wrote a few issues. He isn't credited in the first two solicits.

lol... remember when we used to do this ALL the time (not that long ago... and yet, it seems ages)? About stuff that couldn't be said in the cbox. About Mikey. About pink. About each other. Wait... am I the new Mikey?

Pat, when you have the time, please PM me your script too. Would love to read it. Won't be able to get back to you for a while... currently in grad school hell (aka qualifying exams), but I'll need non-science shite to clear my head in a few days, so that'll be a nice distraction. God, you know we're old when we're the retro references of the forum.

I'd really love some confirmation if the rumor is true that FOX isn't paying the artists or writers for taking, altering and redistributing their work.

I'd really love some confirmation if the rumor is true that FOX isn't paying the artists or writers for redistributing their work. Would it surprise you if it were true? Though, they would have to be bleeping stupid if they thought something so underhanded would go undetected. Hello, 21st century... once word gets out, it gets OUT! Like if I say I go swinging commando today, tomorrow, any perve who likes nubile 25 year old Asian boys with a dirty mind will know. For the record... oh whatever, the truth is out. Game over, man. Game OVER!

Yeah, but I'd love the official go-ahead so that my vile spewings can go unchecked. Right now I'm breaking a lot of bottles holding it back and I'd love to LET FORTH THE RAGE! (I don't suppose we should go about confirming it on our end...? I've heard nothing solid officially on the dastardly doings. I'm assuming it's true because that's SO FOX, as their ad slogan says. Okay, network and not 20th century, but they're both bloodsuckers so yeah. SO FOX.) Phil, I live for these GIFs, too! This is what pure joy looks like! Oh snap, I'm bringing back name bolding!

Ooo, Cordy totally looks topless in this. So this info about Scott co-writing the arc wasn't from ComicCon? Or was Joss just saying that Scott took his half-assed scripts and whipped them into shape? Re: the artists and writers not getting paid for the motion comics... I don't think this is something unique to Fox. I think it's probably business as usual. They get paid for producing the material, and then Fox uses that material however they wish. I'm not sure how other companies do it. Didn't Scott say Dark Horse would unveil something at ComicCon that would be the next generation in motion comics or something? Anybody know what he might have been talking about? Was he referring to "The Goon" animated feature?

Marvel produces original material for motion comics as well as converting comics to motion comics. It's much better to produce the stuff FOR motion comic-ness, instead of converting from print. But then, Marvel is an actual comics publisher. Because FOX owns the rights to Buffy, not Dark Horse, there was perhaps a disagreement and FOX went ahead with it anyway.
I'm not much for speculating though. I wish we knew more. *champion of knowledge across the interwebz*

The info about Allie co-writing "Last Gleaming" was from SDCC, during Joss' individual panel. If you check out Buffyfest's video coverage of the panel, it comes up within the first 5 minutes of the video, right after Joss takes the stage and cracks a few jokes. Joss didn't really offer any concrete details as to the degree of which Allie co-wrote. But as I said earlier, despite the present/future tense, it's previously been reported that Georges already has all the scripts. Note that Joss also said that Allie came down to LA to work with him... not San Diego, where SDCC is held (duh!). As far as I know, Allie was still at the Dark Horse offices on Wednesday (according to his blog), and so the trip Joss mentioned was not the SDCC trip, since they've both been busy on the floor, and definitely not locked up in a room writing/drafting. So this trip had to be from a while back. Allie was also on vacation for quite a while, around the time I started the S8 art contest, and was busy touring the northwest with his son, so logically, this jam session with Joss had to be either before June, or quite recent. Given Georges' statement that he has all the scripts, I'm going to guess it was before June.
And I realize that I may have a career in cyberstalking people. God, I need a life.
