Yay! More Spikey for me. He's my 2nd fave, after Buffy. And the only way Angel even
got a 5th season was because of Spike. I loved Angel but they were gonna cancel it
after Season 4 unless Spike was brought on.

I loved Angel but they were gonna cancel it after Season 4 unless Spike was brought on. I don't think that's entirely accurate. While it is true that Spike = ratings, that wasn't the sole reason Angel got a 5th season. The final episode "Home" in Season 4 was more or less what helped get Angel a 5th season. They even said that "Home" was like a pilot for a new direction, and it worked. Angel was certainly in some danger prior to Season 5, but with a reduced budget and Joss getting more involved, Angel received its final season. |
