I think the real problem is how Willingham fails to capture the characters' voices and motives. The story itself is compelling and enjoyable for me.
For instance, I liked the idea of Angel getting kidnapped so his blood can turn the rich and famous into vampires like himself. I think it's very realistic. If Angel existed in real life, I would not put it past Oprah to jump on that immortality train.
I'm also very intrigued by the Sisterhood of Jaro Hull and, more currently, the Soul Eater.

That completely sums up what I was thinking during reading BW's arc. I'm so glad that at least the plot and events currently in progress are developing greatly. The thing is people are so focused on Spike, that everything else pales in comparison. I am not an avid fan of Spike so it doesn't upset me as much but it's better to see how this all plays out before getting out the pitch forks (I think it's a little late for that ). Spike will always be 2nd to Angel in these comics and will be treated as such. Luckily for fans he'll get his time to shine with his own proper series. Be grateful their favorite chracter didn't create a new identity while wearing a mask, to which he was administering misery to his friends and loved ones, when in actuality he's trying to create a new and better exisitence, yet in return it's causing chaos which really....see what I mean? Hahaha

Ok this issue is definitely out isn't it? I know I'm in the UK but my local comic shop always gets their comics the day after the USA at the latest and I went in today to get Angel #35 and they tell me it isn't out for another week? I'm very confused. Has IDW mucked up again or is this just an error on my shop's part?
And regardless of why I'm now very upset. I really wanted to read this issue and it's a long journey to my nearest store, that I travelled just to be disappointed. I spent my comic money on chocolates instead to console myself, so I also blame my comic shop for any subsequent weight I put on.

Thanks, I will maybe draft a very polite email. I don't want to offend them because I really do love that place.

I finally got this issue this week.
Once again I really enjoyed it. I didn't have any issue with any of the dialogue this time round.
There was a bit too much off the 'connors army' girl but that was my only real complaint. I liked how Connor didn't know what to do when the soul eater wouldn't leave until both Angel and Spike arrived-he still has a bit to learn:-)
Now...as for Spike, I have a theory.we see him ringing his 'partner' and talks about 'burying all the other prophecies'. Now what if everyone is wrong thinking that he is doing this for himself, but doing it to protect Angel?Maybe he is trying to create a crapload of prophecies... more than the world can handle in order to delay the Shanshu prophecy?...or something else altogether.
I really hope it is something which paints him in a god light to prove the naysaying Spike fans wrong:)
There was also another intriguing Eddie Hope story.I wonder if the person ringing Eddie is from the 'about to reappear' Wolfram and Hart?
Glad Gunn got out ok...I knew he would, but I wanted to see it:)

The subtitle for this issue is called Prophet for Profit. Can someone update this into the topic title?
