Oh, God. Illyria + Babies = Me wanting to see! This issue looks great! I wonder if we'll get to see Illyria's thoughts after this opening scene... I hope! One thing that bothers me: The colorer colors one half of Illyria's body suit blue... It's not a big issue, but it just kind irritates me whenever I see that on her. Her armor is mainly red, with maybe a few smudges of blue mixed in, not a whole portion!

Wow...she killed them so easily...which is expected really. Now, wonder what Illyria is gonna do with the babies. I think it'll be interesting to see

The art looks great-I always liked Casagrandes work, but it's amazing what a colourist can add isn't it.

Very very good storytelling. I really enjoy getting insight into illyrias head and Mariah does a good job at that. Not only that but I like where the story is going with the deeper well thing.

Really great 1st issue-I really enjoyed the characterisation of all the characters.
My favourite section was the conversation between Angel and Illyria. There was so much history in it, despite Illyria being a new member of the gang(in the time continuity of the story). It was painful to see them talk about Wesley-Angel must still be really hurting. And I liked his reaction to the 'Mating with Connor' discussion:-)
The 'dream sequence' was genius-great idea. That scene was originally in Harm's Way-was a great way to see how Spike and Wesleys memories that were given to Illyria in AtF #16 are affecting her.Very nicely done.
And Spike is still going to poetry slams-love it:-)
Can't wait to read the next 3 issues!
With this and #38 it just frustrates me that Mariah and David havnt been writing the title since #28-but we are very lucky to get what we will get from them. _________________

(Naturally) Illyria quickly takes care of the baddies, or, rather, relative baddies - it took four pages (cool!) - and then spends the rest of the book trying to understand humans and crabs, who seem to be quite comparable to her. Makes sense.
I loved how she made Angel uncomfortable. And the Angel-Spike thing too. It feels more right here than in their own titles.
Not much action though. Seems like this is going to be more like Willow's spiritual journey. Not expecting this to be that big but that's probably why I liked it so much. Characterisation. Lots of "I" statements.
Also, on a separate note, my comic book guy thinks Spike is the same thing as Spike: The Devil You Know. Second time it's happened. I'll have to have a serious conversation with him sometime! (Although, TBF, I think he got confused by the change in release dates.)
