I loved the fashion for the most part. Especially Willow's in the early seasons (well, barring those really hideous sweaters she wore at times. Although, they always seemed to put Xander in horrible sweaters as well). Here is an example of one of my fave Willow outfits from the early years: I think purple looks good on her. Plus it's my fave color so maybe that's why I like it. Buffy's outfit doesn't look too bad there either, imo. I also liked a lot of Buffy's Jackets and coats. She had some really stylish ones.

I love Tara's outfit, but wish she had a waist when wearing it... Corsets don't like right without a waist

I hate Willow and Tara's outfits in Once More, With Feeling. They were hideous. "Guys were checking you out, Tara!" "Nah. They were just staring at the ugliness that we're wearing." I love those outfits! Ok, regardless of potential ugliness, you must admit they were double take worthy... Much more than Tara is, anyway.

Well, Tara's was unsual. Not exactly something you'd see on the streets of Sweden. Or in the American shows and movies I watch.

This is probably one of the worst outfits used on the show.

This is probably one of the worst outfits used on the show. Can't see it. ): EDIT: Never mind. And yes. It's ugly.

Oh god. The Fashion. Half the time I watch the show I can't help but think "OH GOD WHY ARE YOU WEARING THAT?" Mostly with Tara (seriously the most unflattering clothes) and Willow (THE PINK FUZZY SHIRT OF AWFUL).
Buffy looks good sometimes, but only in the later seasons. I'm glad they let Sarah just wear her own wardrobe in season 7 because that's definitely when she looked best.
Cordelia looked good most of the time though. Except for Season 3 of Angel-awfulness. From her weird lesbian mom hair (please don't be offended by this but c'mon, it's such a fitting description) and greek goddess drapes as clothing. Why would you wear a white see-through bath robe/lingerie robe thing on top of a white dress. WHY? Augh. Awful.
I thought Fred also looked good a lot of the time. I mean her clothes were never amazing, but I thought they really suited her and didn't look godawful.
In summary, the fashion on Angel > Buffy. Except for that weird cheetah-red shirt thing that Drusilla wears in ...Reunion? That was also terrible.
As for Tara and Willow's dresses on OMWF, augh terrible. Go back to freaking Middle Earth please.

for realz. Ok when I think of bad wardrobe choices in Buffy the first thing that comes to mind is this dress that's like white with huge green sploches all over it that Buffy wears in... never kill a boy on the first date.. I think? Anyways it looks like she got slimed at Nickelodeon. Who gave that dress the ok? Seriously.

Many of the dresses Buffy wore in the first season weren't very flattering, imo.

I'm not actually sure anything they wore was really that fashionable then either. Sure most of it has a certain flair of it's time, but I don't think that it was all that "popular" aside from Cordelia's outfits maybe.
If that is true though, I think it helped the show more than hurt, because I never felt that the show was all that dated. Sure the clothes were ugly, but when you watch the pilot you aren't like "ouch, I sure am in 1997 aren't I" as opposed to the Alias pilot where you are like "Damn, I sure feel like I'm reliving 2001"

I pretty much love all of what Buffy wears (excluding season 1), even some of the outdated ones! Cordy has good outfits too, so does willow.

They look like something a teenage Audrey Hepburn might wear. And she rocked a lot of spaghetti strap tank tops that season. I thought they were really cute and age appropriate. But for the most part, yeah... S1-- thumbs down. Season 2 was my absolute favorite.

Sorry can't remember which episodes, pretty sure two of them, Buffy had on this maroon blouse with sparkles. It was sleeveless and had a great neckline. It was way too old for her but I loved that blouse! It looked like it was maybe a light silk or chiffon. Yeah Cordy should never have cut her hair. It was like losing part of her personality. Change is good, just not in this case. And don't get me started on willow S4. Ughh!! Oh and how did Xander afford $175.00 Nat Nast shirts. My hubby owns one. Great look but sooo expensive. No wonder Anya was all about making money, Xandr was spending it all on clothes!!!!

Really? I thought Willow looked really cute circa season 4. I think she looked best in Season 7, but I liked her flippy hair in that season.

^^ Agreed. I love Willow's "flippy hair" in S4. So much so, in fact, that I have even got my hair cut in that style before.

Her hair was cute but her clothes...
Sometimes when watching Buffy or Angel (altohugh, Angel is usaully better) I ask myself. Why do the wardrobe people hate the actors? Is it a power thing. Did the wardrobe people once want to be actors but were never wanted? Why?

Did the wardrobe people once want to be actors but were never wanted? Why? I do that when I watch charmed but it's more along the lines of 'what did they do to piss off wardrobe?'
