I hate Willow's season four hair. I hate the hairstyle so much. Veronica Mars had it a few times in season one. It's so bad. Everytime I see it all I can think about is how much everyone looks like a cat.

It was either "The Gift" or "Forever" or "The Body," but someone was wearing a skirt high up and their shirt was tucked in under it with a belt...Gotta say I didn't feel that outfit.

I liked most of what Anya wore, she always looked cute. And I love Willow's early episode outfits, the fluffy jumpers and bright tights and the whole geek thing, it was so cute and so her. Cordy and Buffy's 'Homecoming' dresses were always a favourite of mine, as was the 'Prophecy Girl' white dress and leather jacket. Buffy had some pretty awful fashion mistakes, but also some good choices too. I just love her red leather pants, and also Faith's black leather pants. Riley in his initiative uniform *swoon* makes me weak at the knees every time I see him. Xander always looked kind of sweet but sexy

I can't believe I forgot about the bridesmaids dresses. I was actually able to deal with Buffy and Dawn's but not with Willow and Tara's dress. The dresses were ugly, but they were hideous with the sleeves.

I always love Buffy wearing a hat and a leather jacket. "story teller". With the crossbow hanging of her, she looked bad-ass.

I always loved Joyce's outfits. She always had the cutests 'Mom outfits' on. Anya's fashion was very good aswell. I loved the dress she wore at the beginning of selfless. Although I never cared much for the top with the butterfly on it that she had in once more with feeling.
A fashion mistake that instantly comes to mind is Buffy's green trousers at the end of whats my line part two. They were horrible!
I liked Kennedy's dark brown leather jacket and Buffy's red top in once more with feelings was lovely! (:

I <3 this thread!
I think the fashion holds up very well, especially when compared to the other shows that were on the same time as Buffy...Dawsons Creek...enough said!!
I would even go as far as saying that Buffy's fashion has become iconic. I have seen "Vampire Hunter" or "Evil Vampire Lady" costumes at the halloween shops that are clones of BUffy/Dru outfits!
I personally LOVE almost everything Anya wears. Her outfits in Selfless especially. She also looked very nice in The Body. She wore a Pink skirt with a blue button up top and an oversized grey sweater. I <3 it!
The only time I really dis-liked Buffy's outfits were in season 3 when she dressed like a boy/thug. The knit hats and HUGE jackets with boots were NOT cute!!! AT ALL!
As for season 1 and 2 with the "silly" outfits, I think they really fit the character Buffy in those early years. She was being forced to grow up and take on all these responsibilities when all she wanted to do was be a part of the in-crowd and be a cheerleader like she was before her calling. I think her fashion sence was maybe a way of rebelling and trying to hold on to her youth by dressing in "cute" girly/hyper feminine cloths.

I hate Willow's season four hair. I hate the hairstyle so much. Veronica Mars had it a few times in season one. It's so bad. Everytime I see it all I can think about is how much everyone looks like a cat. I, on the other hand, loved her S4 hair. I loved how daring it was, for Willow to chop it all off. It spoke of her growing up. Her fashion sense also improved, with her blossoming in college. I'm usually not a fan of long skirts, but Willow actually made them work for her look, instead of looking matronly. Also, I loved most of Buffy's outfits in S7. If I remember correctly, in the later seasons, SMG brought her own wardrobe in, which I approve of. I especially loved her jackets in the latter half of S7, with their rather structured shoulders, but very feminine silhouette. For that matter, I think I loved her S7 hair the most too. The loose waves were very becoming.

Totally agree about OMWF outfits for Willow and Tara. Who would wear that? I loved all of Willow's knitted sweaters. I knit, and I would love to get my hands on the patterns.

I feel like the fashion in the high school years was pretty much just downright awful. Once they went to college there was a noticeable shift in fashion getting better and then I think pretty much in the last two seasons the gang has pretty good fashion.

^ I think Joss and Co. were trying to get the late 90's hip-cool look but failed. Lol, like the very first episode on the commentary Joss said something like trying to write how the teenagers would talk slang but it ended up failing.
(In the locker room) Aphrodisia: Oh, Hey! Aura: Well, the chatter in the caf is that she got kicked out, and that's why her mom had to get a new job. Aphrodisia: Neg! Aura: Pos! She was starting fights! Aphrodisia: Neg-ly!
It took me awhile to decipher what they were talking about. With subtitles! Lol, I think that could be applied to the fashion mishaps in the beginning of the series. They were trying to grasp a high school sub-culture that didn't even exist (or at least i wasn't aware of growing up in the 90's) which made it like Tea-Total said "odd but unique".
Truthfully though, it made me love the series more!

That cowgirl hat that Buffy wore at the beginning of Pangs was completely random. No it wasn't. It represented that Buffy may in fact by a "black hat" instead of a "white hat" by being insensitive to the Native Americans in the episode. That was there for a symbolism thing.

Buffy's outfits in Season 1 sometimes make her look like she just stepped out of the 1970's- because of the long boots and minidresses.

Anya's hair during the middle of season 4, when it was really short. Can't stand it. It didn't really suit her imo. Always prefer her with long hair. Loved her look in OMWF

I second the awfulness that is Anya's beginning outfit in Hush. If I remember correctly it is just horribly unflattering, makes her look ... well... saggy. And she isn't. So that shirt is just awful.
