Clearly we all love Buffy, and are very happy that this show entered our lives. But what madeyou decide to watch it the first time you ever watched it? Was it reccomended by a friend? Did you happen to catch an episode on tv and think it was pretty good?

Apparently my brother came accross a season one video box set in a charity shop for 50p and thought he'd give it a go. After watching that and enjoying it he decided to buy all seven seasons on dvd, at which point I come home from school and discover him watching Buffy. So I sit down and watch with him. And then over the summer we watched all seven seasons. But with them being his dvds and him being very stubborn he watched a few episodes without me. If I remember correctly, the episodes I didn't see until my second time round through the series are: The Witch, the beginning of Teachers Pet, Never Kill a Boy On The First Date, Lie To Me, and the end of Fear Itself. I remember being quite upset that he'd watched the end of Fear Itself without me, so from then on he didn't watch anymore without me.
I can still remember the look on his face when the credits of Superstar rolled round lol, it was the same expression as he had in OMWF, the sort of WTH?/this-is-pretty-cool look.

I don't know... It was like 1997 or 1998 so I was like 8 years old and it was on TV so I watched it. lol I always loved Horror films as a kid so it stuck and I remember reading in a Mag about "Angel" and that Cordy was going to be in it....

My husband! He was at sea (in the Navy) and he borrowed his friends collection of Buffy. When he got home he still had to watch season 7. So he put it on and I would half watch it, half do something else... eventualy I got interested and fell in love with Spike. So he had to borrow the whole series again so I could watch it.

I didn't see Buffy until earlier this year. I'd already seen an episode or 2 on TV but I never thought much of it. I'd watched Angel earlier in the year too. But then I got sick with a nasty case of the Flu. Since my Bro already had the box set and I had nothing better to do, I though what the hell. And I kept watching it.

I Was about 11 in 2004. I didnt get started on buffy first....angel was first. I remember scrolling through the channels and just stopping when i seen andrew(my first epi was damage). From that moment on i was hooked. I felt so bad getting into the series near the end. So I would stay up late at night on saturdays(fox did reruns years ago) and watch buffy. The first episode i basically remember being scared of was"Helpless". Just the sentiment of it and the big scary veiny guy...oh it was wonderful. Now i had seen it a few times before 2004. The end of "What's my line"part 2 and The promo for omwf. But i'm pretty sure my mom didnt want her baby watching vampires and girls in mini skirts lol.

Started because of a friends recommendation this year. After seeing the first few episodes I was hooked, and ended up watching the whole series in about a month? For some reason its hard for me to remember.

I had some time off from school and was bored so I started looking for shows to watch. I honestly started watching Buffy because of True Blood. I got completely hooked on that show and started looking for other movies and shows related to it. Looked on Amazon and came across Buffy. I started watching Buffy earlier this year and finished in record time. By mid season 2 I was completely hooked. Astray I watched it in even less time. It seriously only took me 2 weeks to finish all 7 seasons lol. Most people can't believe that I finished in such a short time. I don't think I went outside at all during those 2 weeks.

I remeber looking at the TV channel part of the newspaper and I say a title saying "Buffy and the vampires" (that's what the show is called in Sweden, but translated to Swedish).
I was 10-ish and thought the show sounded decent. I might even have thought "vampires, cool".
I can't remember if I was in a monster or vampire phase, or just needed something to watch, but even tough I missed the first episode of season 1, I kept watching, and eventually (around season 2) got hooked.

Lesbian research. ;D lol.....i was in my "coming out" phase and i wanted to know everything LGBT-related....including shows that had gay characters in it. And so i noticed that the show Buffy kept appearing on lists or articles/reviews that praised the show for it's great portrayal of a relationship between two women. So that's when i got curious and started watching. I'm so glad i did!!! I have never been more appreciative of my needy nerdyness to know gay knowledge. lol

I don't remember what age I was, but it was in the 8-10 age brackett. It was in the middle of the afternoon and I had gotten home from school, seen my mother watching TV on the couch, and she had said, (and these are the EXACT WORDS), "Hey, Bud! Come watch this for a minute."

Although I had seen some previews before for BtVS I didn't tune in until I saw the preview for Surprise. It was that two-night event where BtVS was switching from Mondays to Tuesdays. And I'm fairly certain the whole reason or at least most of the reason I tuned in was because there was a hot guy on the show (DB).

An article in Afterellen.com that claimed that Buffy was better than the L-Word was the first spark. I read the article and thought: what the frak, a show on VAMPIRES and DEMONS is supposed to be better than my beloved L-Word? I couldn't take that seriously.
Then I read that Jennifer Beals was a Buffy junkie. That during the time they produced the L-Word she always tried to be home on time to watch Buffy reruns. I adore Jennifer Beals. Not only is she beautiful beyond words, she's also smart. So I gave Buffy a try. Basically I did so only to watch the Willow-Tara love story, but since I am a neurotic lawyer I always need to start everything from the beginning, so I started with season 1 on DVD. And that was in ... 2005, I think.

My parents actually introduced me to it. I still remember Homecoming was the first episode i watched. also i honestly think, without Buffy and Angel i wouldn't be the same person i am today.

My best friend got me into it. We were around 15-16 at the time. I saw some episodes she had recorded of S1, and by mid S2 with the whole Buffy/Angel storyline I was hooked! From then on I have been in love with this show. Nothing will ever replace it in my heart.

(Which i found shocking as well because I just started watching the L Word and i thought nothing could be better. And just like you, i'm pretty neurotic when it comes from starting everything from the beginning even though my first reason to watch was the Willow/Tara story that wouldn't take place till seasons later, i had to start from the beginning. karmas for having a very similar story like mine....and most importantly the Jennifer Beals love! I had no idea she was a Buffy junkie!

My wife was a huge fan of the movie and forced me to watch it. Then later we decided to give the show a try and bought the first season on DVD. Fell in love with it and bought the rest of them on DVD after that. I unfortunately never got to watch it when it was on TV.

After dismissing the who based on the fact that it was on the WB and UPN (For some reason I had decided before watching anything on those channels, tat they didn't have anything good on.) My friend Meaghan asked me for season 7 on DVD for Christmas as it was the only season she had never seen. So we got to talking about it and I told her it looked stupid. She reminded me of what a dumb decision it was to dismiss something you have never seen and didn't really know much about, so I agreed to watch it with her. Then I got hooked. I ended up buying her season 7 for christmas and watching it before she had a chance to.

One night i was being a brat and refused to go to bed so my sister sat me down and told me that if I talked through her show she would make me stand in the corner through the rest of it and explain to my parents why I wasn't in bed when they got home. I silently sat through my first Buffy like the obedient little 7 year old my sister demanded. And that was that.

The first time I watched Buffy was possibly because nothing else was on or I couldn't find the remote. The first episode I saw was The Gift when it originally aired on WB network. What really made me watch BTVS was Spike and Buffy in Smashed. Plus it's where I got my user-name from.
