"Buffy's most fearsome enemy." That's saying a lot. And we still don't know who it is, really. I assume it's not just The Master.
Giles with crossbow and stake in the ruined Bronze... there certainly are a lot of intact buildings in that crater, aren't there?
And we will be faced with casualties (plural) not soon forgotten. Definitely time to assume crash positions with this one.
(Shouldn't we have a sub-forum for Last Gleaming, BTW?)

The sub-board for "Last Gleaming" will probably be added once the TPB info is released. Phil likes to have an image for the sub-board when he puts it up.

No Chen cover? It's likely too spoilery to release just yet.

Chen's cover will most likely be in the solicitations for December. If it's too spoilerish, it'll probably be cropped as the other ones have been.

Not much of a solict and the cover isn't too bad. Nice to see that something survived the Big Crunch at least. Wonder who the greatest enemy is

I truly hope the greatest enemy is not the master. That would be such an anticlimax.

Probably unimportant, but did anyone else notice that Giles' pose is pretty identical to the iconic moment in "Prophecy Girl", with Buffy in the sewers with her crossbow?

Probably unimportant, but did anyone else notice that Giles' pose is pretty identical to the iconic moment in "Prophecy Girl", with Buffy in the sewers with her crossbow? He would have gone to meet the master and died in her place back then if Buffy hadn't knocked him out, maybe this time she won't stop him? I'm crying already! Poor Giles

Judging from the "BRONZE" sign being the old school version (since from the Triangle eps the club was trashed so after that the "new" Bronze logo was introduced). I'm thinking this really does mean a trip back to the past, but a really weird past where apparently everything went to hell in a hand basket? Judging by S1 Buffy, Willow and Xander on next months issue and the old Bronze logo, I think we'll be at a time where the master still exists.
I do think Giles will be the one to die. Although Scott Allie said more Giles and Faith comics next year, that could be a huge throw off... but again, Willow getting not wanting to give up magic with this seed being destroyed might mean she turns against Buffy. There are many possibilities to who could betray Buffy because honestly she has not had the greatest track record in S8... Buffy being upset with Giles for him being with Faith plus his suspicion to find that weapon to kill a god, Buffy going all heartthrob on Xander after he hooks up with Dawn (and if Dawn does die – then Xander will really be pissed at Buffy), Willow from Anywhere But Here when she looked all glum at the idea of the “end of magic” plus the fact the she IS dark in the future… and Buffy boinking Twangeldidn’t please anyone… so it might be the idea of who can betray her first. I think Joss did good building to really influence a strong side being anti-Buffy this season so out of all the possibilities I have my money on Giles to the betraying.
I always thought that it would hurt the most if Twilight was Buffy’s father or Giles because it’d be the idea of a father figure going against the child, and that is a deep kind of pain so I wouldn’t be surprised if Joss is planning something that heartbreaking.

I thought Scott said there would be no more time travel this season, but it's hard to tell whether he meant that, or that there hasn't been any up to this point apart from ToYL (that is, Twilight isn't a future version of Angel).
Jane Espenson off-handedly mentioned something about separate timelines in her Buffyfest interview.

Official Dark Horse solicitations have been released HERE. Interestingly enough, neither cover for this issue is included. Curiouser and curiouser. Perhaps DH is building up anticipation for this issue... or maybe the damn covers are just that spoiler-ish.

I think the Giles cover is cropped. Because the word "BRONZE" is in the spot where the "Buffy" title and logo would be. You wouldn't want to put words on top of words when laying out your cover.

I agree that the Giles cover is probably cropped. It always seemed that way to me... could be wrong, but I'm riding the "It must be cropped" train. Which then begs the question... what's being hidden? Other than the rest of the Bronze sign, that is.

It wouldn't be an enemy that's being hidden, because Giles's pose doesn't indicate he's reacting to an immediate threat.

If it's the Bronze they're trying to hide... well, they should have cropped tighter, or edited it a little to remove the obvious signage. They did that for the #37 Chen cover, where they not only cropped out the Master, but also edited the image slightly to suggest that Buffy was the lone figure on the cover. But back to random speculation about what else could possibly be hidden... hmm... the Seed of Wonder? A portal?
