I highly doubt any main characters will die, or at least not Buffy, Giles, Xander and Willow. Joss said in the commentary for Chosen that he couldn't kill any of the core four because fans would freak on him. Imagine what fans would do if he ended the series, brought it back in comic form and then killed one of the core four.... not pretty.

Nice to have you! Also I want to add that Faith mentions Amy Winehouse, who only gained popularity stateside in 2007. I think this story is more or less current to present day. Which is fine by me. ur right! season 8 probably takes place present day 2007-2008, HOWEVER in buffy-time, it only been 1.5-2 years and buffy is only 25 and not 27... so somehow 2 years were kinda lost. lol

As of right now January 2008 Buffy would be 27 and Dawn 20/21
As I said it would have to be occuring in at least late 2006, putting Buffy at 25 and Dawn at 19/20 Dawn's supposed to be in College, which if done normally she would have started attending in late 2005 (she was in her 2nd year of High School in Season 7, 2002-03)
Although I don't think it'll ever really make sense. As Whedon said, the flow of time in comics are quite hard to pin down, as six issues may go by with six months for us, for all those issues could take place in one night, so it'll never sync up exactly

It would be cool if Buffy did that, but there would probably be even more errors than there are now.

If its at least a year and a half away from Chosen, then I take it as The Long Way Home taking place in November 2004, so Wolves At The Gate will probably take place in December 2004/January 2005. Dawn wouldn't be in college then but she may have skipped a year because Sunnydale went under. Her junior year she was getting settled, so senior year should be the start of her college, but she's currently a giant so who knows what will happen.

Theories: I don't think any of the four core will die.
Maybe Drac bites it (And not necks)
Or maybe...Andrew (sorry Andrew lovers)
Maybe Renee...who knows?
Also I am really confused about the time of the comics. It says it takes place a year and a half after Chosen. But they make all these 2006-2007 pop culture references, maybe they're all JUST MISTAKES?

I would say that "at least a year and a half" means AT LEAST. It doesn't mean it's only been a year and half... it only means that we definitely know a year and a half passed, but it could be more.

Then I wonder what happened during that two years before Season Eight?

Where does this "Year and a half after Chosen" calculation come from? I don't recall it being mentioned in the comics

It's from a Joss interview, maybe the one in the Buffy/Angel magazine? Can't remember. But he said that it had been "at least a year and a half". At least being the two most important words there.
The context was just discussing that he couldn't just put it a few months after Season 7 like usual, since so much more time had gone by for the audience. As more issues go by, the more I personally suspect he has leaned toward pulling Season 8 closer to present day.

Well she's barely been in it. Maybe you will grow to like her?
Seems like they can. Kidnapping Willow so Buffy will follow? Poor Willow, that'd be the second time this season.

Willow is the new Dawn, lol.
Anyway I was getting all hyped for a Bander ship to set sail. Guess my dream has been shattered, haha. Oh well.

Maybe it still will. Could be a surpise that Joss is hiding.
Seeing A Beautiful Sunset's preview and now this one, it seems like Georges's art has improved a lot, not that it was bad before, but now it looks amazing. I think he captured Andrew a lot better, whom I can't wait to see more of.
