Something I noticed with Issue 12 and Issue 13 is that Willow's hair looks much more natural. In the first/second arcs, it's almost crayon-red. I love that Michelle has made it more orange-y like Aly's hair is in real life (or was pre-HIMYM Season 2)

I really liked this one, specially the scene between Willow and Satsu. Dracula was also hilarious.

I loved this issue!!! I LOVED the convo on the plane between Willow and Satsu, freaking hilarious. Also very sad about Aiko, she seemed really cool. I really want her hair, reminds me of Amy from Futurama just a little I think the de-slayering spell works by hitting the red gem with the scythe and it will hit all slayers in the vicinity of the blast. If that happens while Buffy is in Tokyo, she could be de-powered for a time as well. I completely agree that the coloring is much better in this issue.I also think Georges is getting better with his likenesses. They were a *little* spotty at first, but he seems to be getting the knack for it now. BTW... in the second frame with Aiko, in the upper left hand corner there are some english letters on a cane of some sort, any relevance anyone can think of? I'm drawing a blank. Also, does anyone speak Japanese and can translate the spell/word that Kumiko cast?? Ok, for real, one last question to pose to you guys: who is the brunette next to (presumably Willow) on the regular cover? Is it Satsu??

Does anyone else think the red gym has anything to do with those half red egg things that were shown in "Anywhere But Here"? In the panel where Buffy asks, "What happens to me here?"

I'm gonna go ahead and say no, IMO. The only resemblance I can see is it's red. The gem in this issue was circular, not spherical, and also transparent, which the red-eggs don't seem to be.

I like this issue, I don't know if I like it more than part one of Wolves at the Gate though. Willow was finally in character (*see Willow/Satsu talk LOL..). But it seems like Buffy oddly wasn't. I just had a hard time imagining Buffy's voice saying those words.

Brilliant issue, best line for me was between Xander, Dracula and Renee Dracula: Tell your Moor to watch her tone manservant Xabder replies whilst casually drinking tea Xander: Watch your tone Moor, I mean she's not a moor.......... Brilliant likeness and the scene with Willow and Satsu was great. Though it would seem Xander was wrong when he told Anya back in season 5 that Willow does not think of Buffy in 'that' way. Also if somebody does not write a Aiko fan fic, I will. If I do write it I will add it into my Faith spin off. She seemed really cool. Did NOT like that she looked so much like Satsu, a ,ittle confusing. One thing that really put me off this issue was Dracula's dialogue, they seemed very off. Remember Drac has a strong accent and it was hard to imagine him saying the things he said, he seemed too polite.

While it may seem mean, her Scythe's just been stolen, and that's gotta mean something to her, even if she doesn't know about the spell reversal mojo the Japanese vampire witch is working. To already have suffered a blow like that, a public one notwithstanding, and to have her orders questioned (no matter how wise and well-intentioned), it all adds up. edit: I feel that I should qualify this by saying that by no means am I saying that Buffy was right. But it's probably why she acted the way she did.

after reading this, my prediction is that they are going to be aiming the de-slayer-izer at Buffy, and Satsu is gonna jump in the way and take the 'bullet' for her. Then Buffy will kill the vampires and theyll try to get Satsu her power back but they wont and that will be the end of Satsu. This can be the massive hit they were talking about for issue 15 I was thinking something like this, though I doubt one slayer (even Buffy's supposed best fighter) would be a massive hit... I do love the idea of Satsu taking the hit. This has so much potential, how do you deal with having so much power and then losing it, just like that. I reckon we could have some depression if the effects are permanent and a lot of girls get hit. Another thing for Buffy to blame herself about.. meh!

This is the best one yet! I thought it was totally amazing! My favorite scene is between Drac and Xander ....and Willow and Satsu. "Did she make that high-pitch squeal?" XD. I loved it. I also can't wait to see how this deslayerizer plays out even more once the Scoobies arrive... *Foams at the mouth until issue 14 comes out*

i am actually pretty glad they have decided to make Dracula comical. His homo erotic relationship with Xander is so fantastically bizzare. Did anyone else LOVE the fumming expression on Renee's face when she walked inside the mansion?

This issue was a really good follow up to #12. It really feels like the comics are starting to hit their stride. Plus, this looks like a really cool plot, and something that needs to be dealt with, if you can grant people all that power, it needs to be able to be taken away. And the Willow/Satsu scene: classic.

Did anyone else LOVE the fumming expression on Renee's face when she walked inside the mansion? Totally agree. I hated Dracula in his one episode of the show. He was lame, and campy, and just didn't belong in the Buffy-verse at all. But I love what Drew has done with him by making him a comical figure while still staying in-character with what we saw of him before. But now we also get a peek "behind the scenes" at him as a washed-out, over-the-hill, lonely old coot, trying desperately to maintain his outward image of the dark, brooding, most-famous-vampire-ever. He's actually interesting now.

Very... disappointed. Insubstatntial, as issues go; lots of plot wrapped up in bad comedy. I was never too enamoured with the idea of Drac' being back, and this has only confirmed my fears. Not to mention the fact that he was written completely differently to the way he was in the show. In addition, Buffy has a patchy enough history with race issues, and some of Dracula's jokes were in poor taste, and nowhere near funny enough to get away with it; yes, I understand that Bram Stoker's character can be interpreted as a metaphor for colonial anxieties, but I'm not sure that a Buffy comic is the right place to play them for humour. Elsewhere, I found the humour really lacking; Andrew's scene was really clumsily written, and the Willow/Satsu exchange was way out of character that - coupled with Jeanty's poor realisation of, well, the human form - it could have been someone else entirely.
I hate that they've made Antique canon, too.
The thing that frustrates me the most? I know I'm going to keep reading this. I'm finding it increasingly disappointing, with the odd bright spot here and there, but overall it's really soured me to the series. It's fair-to-middling fanfiction, at the most, and doesn't even begin to meet the legacy of the show.
But I want to see how it ends.

I Like when she's peppy and other happy things.

Aiko was awesome. Very graphic and obscene way to kill her off! I thought it was heart-wrenching. I felt for her. She must have been terrified.
I bet Dawn gets pissed and simply runs around Toyko and smashes the shit out of those crazy vampires! Also, do we know for certain Kumiko is a vampire? All that was said was that she is a witch...
Buffy really cannot be de-powered as we have seen the preview of her in Issue 16. I feel it is too early in the game for this story, they haven't done much with the new slayers yet! Where is Twilight?!

As excited as I am to see Dawnzilla, I am slightly anxious that 'Giant Dawn smooshes the bad guys [The End]' is going to be the resolution to too many of these arcs. MB x

Decent issue; art was stronger in this one than in the past, and I agree with other posters, Michelle Madsen's coloring is very nice.
Not thrilled about Dracula, but I missed the Buffy episode he was in as well as whatever comic book or whatever they did about him, so I sort of feel like I'm at a party where everyone gets the joke but me. To me, he just seems kind of extraneous and campy, and they way they quickly shoehorn in the extra backstory in for Xander just doesn't flow very well--the dialogue in that scene feels very "crammed in."
I think personally, I'd rather see a story about a bunch of clever vamps who stole the scythe and everyone had to chase them to Japan--that by itself is a pretty interesting story, and we don't need to throw in Dracula of all things to make it work.

I would be happy to see Dawnzilla dispatch the vampires. Since they want to depower slayers, it would be a wise idea to allow a giant to just smash them instead of risking slayers' lives. Plus I am mad at how haughty they act and how they disposed of Aiko! So arrogant!
Seems that Willow's power is being played down now, since she clearly was kicked around by that Kumiko broad.

That kind of annoyed me, if they are going to big her up as some super power than this Kumiko girl must be mega powerful, untouchable even. If they don't keep that up then I'll be knarcked.
