Just wondering, as Dracula has been pretty much useless throughout this arc, do you think he could in some way save Renee by vampify-ing her? I mean with Willow's power, she could use the curse to re-ensoul her to be like Angel! And in that way, Xander has then to deal with the idea of his love as a vampire, leading to more storylines down the line???Speculations a good'n'

that would be cool and add a new spin to the relationship. Dracula like doing a favour for Xander, well Drac' sees it as a favour anyways.

Yeah, except that as a Slayer, you'd think that the last thing you want to be is a vampire, albeit an ensouled one. Self-loathing on a very high level is what that would result in. That is assuming that the rest of them allow Drac to do it in the first place.
And why would they? Death is a death, and Xander hates vampires.
It's creative, but the plausibility factor's just not there.

A vampire is a demon hybrid, an ensouled one is no different. However, Xander really hates vampires. Even the "good" ones.
My point is, why would be want that for Renee? Or since the woman's vote is equally important, why the heck would Renee want that for herself? She's a Slayer. She kills vampires. Death is a big part of the Vampire Slayer's life.

I understand everything that you are saying but I just don't see the point in bringing back Dracula if he isn't going to do anything useful in the arc. I hate the idea that Joss keeps bringing back characters from the past, a reason why I don't want that to be Drusilla on the variant cover for issue 17. It just doesn't help to make the new season a 'new season'. Dwelling in the past and not moving forward. I cannot honestly see the point in bringing back Dracula when all he does is make stupid racist remarks and jealous critisism to the arc, which to me, is completey pointless and a waste of story. Vamping Renee will progress the Xanee relationship story whilst adding maybe a darker side to Xander that we have never really seen in the past, except for season 6, but lets face it, that happened to everyone back then! Sorry about the humongous rant but I just had to get my opinion across! Now if only we could get that preview we so desparately need!

So far, Drac's the one who's come up with the whole Carolina's grip thingamajig, so I'll chalk that up as a contribution for him.
And hey, he's old and learned in the ways of the mystical... could be something else that the Scoobies could learn from him. Heck, this is just something wild I tossed in a conversation with Emmie a while ago, but he could very well be the hot tipper that throws us into the events of #16.
I don't know, but it would be another way to move the story forward.
Vamping Renee will be a way of progressing the Xander story, but not the only one. I'm excited to see what happens in this issue. Especially since we're supposed to be waiting with baited breath for the last page.

Methinks Xander would probably not view the sex as a reward. Not that Drac's not attractive and all, but Xander... kinda straighter than the bee-line I make for peanut M&Ms.

I do see where you're coming from. Although, Dracula was initially sought out cause these vamps powers were similar and turned out to be stolen off him. Hopefully Wolves At The Gate part 4 is a really big issue which will be bigger and better than the others, which will be pretty hard to achieve as this arc has been fantastic!

Hmm... Xander and Dracula having sex... Hope the mindcontrolling spell Dracula used in season 5 is completely gone. Then I'd like that. Otherwise, brrrrr.

I'm going to venture a guess and say that if Dracula and Xander were getting it on, the spell would probably still be on.
I'm getting very naughty images of Xander, Dracula, a riding crop and lots of "Yes, Master"s. Eek!
