Willows got Kumiko to deal with, i have a feeling willow's gonna get pretty hurt next issue actually. Kennedy's got to have a reason for showing up and my best guess is willow;s fight with Kumiko is a close one and Kennedy refuses to sit at the sidelines anymore. That's an interesting theory. I really hope Willow and Kumiko fight. I would love to see that. Another reason Kennedy could start having a larger role in the season is if the Japanese vamps actually manage to pull off the Slayer reversal spell and depower all the Slayers (excluding Buffy) that are in Tokyo. Then in Time Of Your Life when Buffy goes to New York, she wants to take some Slayers for backup, so she takes Kennedy and Vi. That would also make sense.

I you have problems with ressurections then i imagine that you dont like the fact that Buffy has been ressurectd. On the other hand we read a comic which is set on a modern fantasy/horror background thus making stuff like that not weird. But the one thing a fan has to be careful about is the way the writer handles a situation like this.If they give me a rather plausible explanation and if they handle the situation with cleverness then i'm all for it Maybe she also wants Vi and Kennedy because they're two of the most expirienced slayers and she may value that experience in her new mission .Sure Satsu is her best warrior but both Vi and Kennedyhave much more battlefield time than dear ol' S

I you have problems with ressurections then i imagine that you dont like the fact that Buffy has been ressurectd. Not sure if that was aimed at me, but I'll reply to it, anyway. No, I didn't have a problem with Buffy being resurrected, because it was only the second or third time something like that had happened, between 12 seasons and 254 episodes of the two shows. If it started happening a lot, then I'd have problems with it. But in Renee's case, as I've already said, I don't believe she's dead yet (so resurrection isn't in play in this instance), that Willow has a very brief window where she can try to save her, and that either way it turns out, I potentially have complaints about it. Either she saves her, and reinforces what was already proven in #4: that NO wound or injury is too severe for her to heal. Or she doesn't, and Renee dies, and I'm left asking, "Wait a sec--what about all those super healing powers Willow had in issue #4?"

I'm excited that Kennedy and Vi are back for the next arc. Wow, I'm excited about Kennedy. I guess I've finally accepted her lol. I'm loving the potentials-turned-slayers- from S7 alot more than all the new slayers introduced in the comics. With the exception of Aiko, who was set up as such a cool badass only to be viciously knocked down.
As long as Rona doesn't show up and talk, I'm good.

As long as Rona doesn't show up and talk, I'm good. She already did once, and that was enough for me. I still cringe everytime I think of "Ding dong the witch is dead". I'm also very excited to see Kennedy again. It will be interesting to find out more about what she's been doing.

Would this be an awful thread topic "Who hates Rona with a fiery passion?"

After watching Season 7 all over again, I have a soft spot for Violet. I am so happy she is FINALLY back. And being a part of the story. I just hope nothing bad happens to her, cause I really favor her above all the other new slayers. Eh, Kennedy is alright I suppose. I just hope they do something with her, other than make her the brat.

My only issues in Season 7 with Kennedy were because of Iyari Limon. She was a horrible actress that made Kennedy nearly unwatchable. I've already expressed these issues in another thread though, but I think her return to the comics will actually be good. We won't actually be watching an actress anymore, so I might actually be able to like Kennedy once she does return.

On the subject of Willows powers to heal people; I doubt very much that the writers would intend to take it to a level where she could just heal everyone, for one thing, she can't be everywhere at once, there is gonna come a time soon where it looks like stuff is gonna get real ugly and she wont be Florence Nightingale, they'll have her in the thick of it somhow, also in the show Joss was always really concerned with exploring real fatality and the ways in which it works in this universe, in other words when the death means something, the person stays dead...if you ask me Willows ability to heal could be a very interesting plot device, what happens when she only has enough power to heal one person and has to make a choice...
On a general note, Im loving this arc alot more than I thought I would, mainly coz its the first to feel the closest to an episode, with buffy, willow and xander getting that vamp!!! Although I hope for some good old proper scoobie banter soon, would be nice to just see a panal where the free of them are eating, or doing something really normal, lol

Would this be an awful thread topic "Who hates Rona with a fiery passion?" *raises hand* I'm just watching S7 again right now, and Grr! :vampirebite: It's not just that she says things like the already mentioned, "Ding-dong, the witch is dead." But she rips nearly every decision Buffy tries to make, without ever offering a better alternative. Granted, Buffy makes some pretty crappy choices, but if Rona's the designated dumb-move-pointer-outer, then at least have her also be the one to say (even just occasionally), "Maybe we should do this instead..." She ends up coming off as maybe the whiniest, complainiest character ever--no small feat, considering how little screen-time she got in the overall scheme of things...

I liked Rona's part in The Chain, although I agree with most people that she was without doubt the most annoying Potential.
It's interesting that out of everyone Buffy could have assigned squads of Slayers to, she chose Rona. They are positioned in Chicago, so maybe that's where Rona was originally from and that's why Buffy chose to give her a squad to manage.

Her face likeness was done well enough for me to recognize her. I take issue with the fact that Paul Lee slimmed her down. I mean, what happened to that whole empowering women bit? Suddenly, even the huskier characters look like models? Yeesh... my biggest problem with the art of S8: All the Slayers are hot/attractive/droolable/etc. I mean, I know that Faith said "Thank god we're hot chicks with superpowers" and all, but seriously... one body type for all the girls? Biased much! Not that I'm yelling for a 250 lbs Slayer (let's be realistic... she wouldn't be able to do much beyond waddle), but a wider demographic of body shapes/sizes.

I guess with all the training they do, there wouldn't be much opportunity for them to put on weight. But I get what you're saying, it would be nice to see some variation.

In the scene at the gym in "The Chain", there is one 'wide shot' (the text in the panel begins "I listen; I don't have a choice") showing a slayer who looks like she could hold her own against any of the heftier vamps out there. But I think that's her one and only appearance, so your criticism is still a valid one...

I certainly don't think they're getting lazy. It's only been a week since the last issue, and they probably want to leave some stuff up in the air for the fans. I mean, this is the last issue of the arc--for "No Future For You" we got the preview for part 4 the Monday before the issue came out.

I know when season 8 first started you could expect them a week or two before the issue came out. Now we are getting them 1 day before, on the same day as it's released and sometime well in advance. I just wish we could have some stabality in when the preview pages come out or maybe even a set date or something like at the end of an issue on the back page have the date or a message from Scott Allie letting us know when the newest previews will be up.

Still totally disagree. We got previews for #12 before #11 came out. We got the preview for #13 the day after #12 came out. It makes sense that the further they get into the arc, the later the preview comes out. It's how its been for the entire season thus far.
