I started stephen kings 'desperation' today...holy shit its f**king awesome. unlike most of kings novels which take a while to get into but overall it works to get you emotionally attached to the characters...this one frigging leaps right into the crazy ass action. Hes so brutal...spoilers ahead.... within the first chapter a couple had been taken by the crazed homicidal cop...the husband shot 4 times in the stomach...and a 6yr old girl thrown down a flight of stairs where she breaks her neck! like I said its brutal. With this novel he switches between present with a family/the wife of the shot husband/ and a lone biker all locked up and terrorized by this insane guy and then he switches to the events which led up to the characters getting taken and the back stories of each character etc. Its really fascinating...and oddly enough when the action switches back to the lead up and the backstories I would have thought Id be bored and just wishing to get back to the present where they are all locked up but his skills are so incredible he keeps you interested even with the littlest thing. Started it today and im 200pgs in...couldnt put the bugger down.lol. Next up is The Stand...(cheers scullow for the recommendation. )

To Kill a Mockingbird is my all time favorite book... well, one of them!
I just recently finished The ruins, Stardust, and Come Together.
I started Drownding Ruth.
I want to read Blood is the New Black! It sounds like the perfect book for me. A review i read described it as Buffy meats The Devil Wears Prada!

Against any reasonable judgement I just started Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, which is 1050 pages of tiny, tiny print. I read pretty fast, but this will take me absolutely forever. It's pretty good so far, though.

Over the holidays I went back to Bujold and read the Palladin of Souls, which I'm about to finish. PoS is a followup book to Curse of Challion, and it's not a sequel because very few of the characters from CoC are in PoS, but it's set in the same universe and has the same tone. But it is written as a stand alone and you need not read one to understand the other.

I am reading a few right now.... The Reader, Drowndign Ruth, Here (for a 3rd time) and Atonment.
Some people thing it is weird but I love reading multiple books at one time. It is like watching a good line up of tv shows. You get little pieces of the larger story spread out over time.
Plus, I read freakishly fast so it slows me down a bit if I have more than one going.

The God Of Animals by Aryn Kyle.
So many readers here! I knew us Buffy fans were a smart bunch!
That is interesting BuffyFanOne. I like to read one book at a time. I get very involved in the books I read and while I'm reading it, that world is a part of mine. I think I'd get confused reading more than one at a time.

I finished "The Catcher in the Rye" last week, and it was totally metal. I would never have guessed that I could relate so much to a character from the 1940s. He thinks everyone and everything is "phoney". It's terrifulent.
