Hey I don't post at this forum very often because I only come to see new info about the comics (which are ok...still haven't started the Wolves issues) but have started my summer break and gotten back into reading. I decided to come here to get some ideas of what people are reading. Some of my recent reads are: Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz...one of my favorite books. I think lots of Buffy fans will enjoy it. Going to finish the sequel Forever Odd today. REALLY stuck on World War Z. Reviews were really positive but I find it to be boring as hell. The whole thing is interviews and there is no character development. Every interview lasts no more than 10 pages and then its done. Don't know if I'll be able to suffer through the end. Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay is a fun read, especially if your a fan of Dexter. I enjoy the show more now after reading the book. Jurassic Park was AWESOME. If you like the movie the book is way better. HIGHLY recommend...unfortunately I hear The Lost World isn't so great because it was watered down for Hollywood. Have read some books by Stephen King but not sure how I like his writing. Firestarted and The Dead Zone wern't bad, but It had the worst ending I could have imagined. And after reading 1000 pages to get there I was kind of pissed. Going to start The Gunslinger soon as I hear good things about the Dark Tower series.
Other books on my to read list are: Twilight, Brother Odd, Demon Theory and Sphere. Also am working on the Narnia series (read Magician's Nephew, LWW, and Prince Caspian)...movies are 10x better. Honestly not sure why the books are so popular... Oh and Harry Potter 6 was my favorite of the series.

I'm reading the third installment of the Alex Cross series, and ONE THING OR YOUR MOTHER, and TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD, and if I can get it in paperback I am dying to read the latest in the Alex Rider series.

I'm just about finished with The Shining and I'm reading The Hours in my American Lit. Class. The Shining is epic, but The Hours, despite all of the high praise (it won a Pulitzer) is only fair.

Just finished "The Ruins," by Scott Smith. Really fantastic book. I'd recommend it to any horror/Stephen King fans.

^I'm a huge Stephen King fan, so I think I'll check that book out (The Ruins).
Right now I'm in the process of rereading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I read Gatsby in my lit. class two months ago, and I really liked it.
I finished The Shining, which kicked ass, and now I'm reading a book of Stephen King short stories. "The Mangler" is quite easily the scariest thing I have EVER read.

I thought that "The Great Gatsby" was kind of boring. I just got done reading "Hamlet" (in old english). Shakespeare is the shit. I also recently read "Spike & Dru: Pretty Maids All in a Row". (IT'S A MUST READ!) And now I'm on to "Red" by Jack Ketchum.

My favorite by him is A Midsummer Night's Dream... oh, it's just amazing.
