as much as I liked Buffy and SPike I cant deny Buffy and Angel's love so I went with Angel

I chose Angel.
I liked Spike's character in Season 4 and 5 when he was still relatively evil and then when he first discovered he was in love with Buffy. Those were some of the funniest moments on the show. Once they actually got together....meh.

Spike/Buffy. On a purely practical level, James Marsters was a far better actor than the David Boreanaz we saw in Seasons 1-3 of Buffy, when he said he "didn't know what the hell he was doing" (I'll be the first to admit that he improved a lot when he got his own show). Besides that, I really didn't like the Instant Love that Angel/Buffy was marketed as. First time they spent more than a couple of minutes in each other's presence, you got a kiss and a textual confirmation that Buffy is in love with him, which was never questioned or doubted afterwards. Excuse me if I find that every bit as contrived as any Token Romance in your average movie -- falling in love "because a script told them to", as King of Cretins puts it. And... I was missing the snark, which Spike/Buffy provided in spades.
In fairness to Angel/Buffy, though, its self-important nature did make for some really epic moments (Becoming, Amends, I Will Remember You).

I love both vampires when they aren't with Buffy. They're cool on their own, but the minute they're around her, they become love sick puppies.

I always thought I'd say Angel but then I realized I liked her with Spike. At least I liked them once he had a soul.
It seemed like two adults dealing with the complexities of their lives and what they mean to each other.
Whereas Buffy was 16 when she and Angel got together. I can only take that so seriously.
When I was 16,17 god only 18...I fell in love....many times...too many to really take seriously.
The episode that made me not feel it with Angel and Buffy was the Angel episode"The Girl in Question".
I can believe Spikes emotions where as Angel...it's like she was a child when you had your time.
I found Angel running after her just plain silly.
For Spike...when he had come from that amulet in an earlier episode it was like only moments passed. His feelings were more recent and more adult based in my eyes.
