Regardless of the storylines, what kind of Buffy did you like the most throughout the seven seasons we watched. I just thought it would be interesting to debate on this given that her character changed a lot within those seven years and I was wondering what was the time when the fans enjoyed her personnality the most.
Personnally I had to give it a lot of thought because it's really hard to say but I went with Grown up Buffy when she has to deal with her little sister being a pain in the neck and she has to protect her from Glory. That's also the season when she faced her mother's death and it was something very emotional. I just remember that very scene when she was doing the dishes with the radio on and that mexican music going on and she just has a nervous breakdown and she starts crying. It just made me realize that wow she was going through a lot and we could all relate to that at some point in our lives too.
I too liked Tough Buffy in season 7. I thought the superiority complex was very interesting and true to her character.
I also enjoyed Tormented Buffy in season 2 very much. Her character gets more interesting when she's tortured anyway.
I kinda disliked Buffy being all detached in Season 6. Something was bothering me there. I guess I had a hard time adjusting to the idea of her coming back from Heaven.
I said Righteous Buffy for season 3 for the whole Faith storyline, you know, it's wrooong (to kill humans).

I loved watching Buffy through-out Season 5. She had to grow up, take care of both her sister and mother. It was depressing to watch, especially after Joyce died. She became a stronger woman.

Buffy season 5....so much character development. It was brilliant. Her reltionship with Spike was explored more, same goes with Dawn and she was actually scared of Glory, she knew she couldn't kill her so they ran. Season 5 Buffy was one of the best. Then season 2 Buffy was great still new at everything but she can still kick as just as good!!

I too enjoy season 5 Buffy. Introducing Dawn as Buffy's "love interest" for the season was a master stroke. I much prefer caring Buffy to the everyone-is-expendable arsehole Buffy the "mission" has made her into.

Wow that's weird. I thought most people would vote for the early seasons Buffy, especially Season 2 Buffy. I found her excellent too when she was tormented by the idea of killing Angel.

Season 5 Buffy for me as well. Her fierce loyalty to Dawn after she finds out Dawn is just a normal human girl was really fascinating to watch.

I liked season 5 Buffy she was Strong and still cared and i liked season 2 Buffy that was such an emotional season and also season 1 Buffy because she was always so perky and funny and we dont see her happy that often in the later seasons. i didn't like season 6 Buffy that *I'm all alone* thing got old quick and I'm also not a fan of season 4 Buffy

I'm jumping on the bandwagon. Season 5 Buffy was my favorite. She was never more heroic or more vulnerable than in Season 5. I too love that scene where she's crying over the dishes as the mexican music is playing...I've had moments like that before and that scene struck home.
After 5, I'd say Season 2 for the heroism, vulnerability, humor and spirit she displayed. These are the qualities I admire most in Buffy and she embodied them most in seasons 2 and 5.

I had to go with Season 2 Buffy. The episodes that from this season were the first time I realized that this show was leaps and bounds better than everything on television. What I thought made it great was the interaction between Buffy and Angel and the all of the "secondary" things that were happening that weren't just Buffy slaying another monster (the ironic nature of her love story with Angel, Angel's curse, the sacrifice she was going to have to make in killing Angel, etc.). Mikey, after reading your first post, I have to agree that season 6 Buffy did add a lot to the character. I hadn't thought about it like that before. Thanks for the different perspective.

Season 6 Buffy. Because up until then Buffy was always so pure, so perfect, so UNBELIEVABLE. It wasn't until Season 6 that Buffy began to really show her flaws and some vulnerability. She had to learn how to live again. And that season is what gave us the Buffy we have today. I agree about how season 6 really showed new sides to her character but totally disagree with her being pure and perfect before season 6. no way.

Finally a few votes for Season 2 Buffy. I was so convinced that everybody would go for "tormented Buffy" that I'm surprised so many people enjoyed Season 5 Buffy the most. However I can only agree with them as I picked Season 5 too!
Nobody misses Innocent Buffy or righteous Buffy back in high school times? And nobody enjoyed Tough Buffy in Season 7. I almost picked that one.

I too love that scene where she's crying over the dishes as the mexican music is playing. Probably one of my favorite scenes in the series. I'm not a big fan of Listening to Fear, but this part and the end between Buffy and Joyce make it worth it. Sarah was phenomenal.

I favor Season 3, but I also love Season 5 as well.
The Joyce storyline in Season 5 really resonates with me, my Dad passed away due to a brain aneurysm. I was watching "Forever" yesterday, and I cried my eyes out at the end.

I never knew so many Buffy fans cherished that scene. Listening to Fear is one of my favorite episodes in season 5 because we really see Buffy having to face new responsabilies on her own as her mom's situation is geting worse and worse (she simply goes insane in that very episode, loved the scenes upstairs).

Again, another toughie. I guess I ould go with S5 Buffy though. This is the point where Buffy really began to grow up and become more of an adult. And then after her mom died, she became a mother to Dawn. So, we got to see a whole different side of Buffy we had never seen before.
At the same time, I would go with S7 Buffy, because at that time Buffy became a mother/teacher/mentor/counselor. She took on all of these different roles in one. I believe that S7 was very much about "motherly Buffy," thogh most see S7 as "general Buffy." At that time, Buffy was not only a mother to her sister, but she also became a mother type figure for all the potentials as well. In the end I think S7 gets my vote.

Thanks for giving your vote to Tough Buffy. I think Season 7 deserved that! Almost voted S7 Buffy too. And I agree with what you said. And also I liked the fact her role became more controversial. I was tired of super nice Buffy.

I love the whole ep really, definitely one of my faves of S5, I would say. The whole ep is just creepy, but also very sad. And that demon is just one of the creepiest ever on the show, imo.

She had A LOT to deal with, and I believe that she was doing the best she could under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

I chose S5 Buffy. I actually liked all the "Buffys" for differing reasons, but S5 was the one season where,at times,I didn't find her annoying at times as well

Personally, I like Buffy season 7 the most because, there is more intersting characters, battles, magic, storylines. Buffys moves are more cool. Plus, theres more thrills, and feelings that someone is gonna die. But All the other season rock too. The last episode of Buffy was cool, but it left you hanging!
