Just think though, if this delay is only 3 weeks, that means the gap between #20 and #21 will only be two weeks, if they continue with the first wednesday of the month release! New Arc!

Or, the half-empty, they release the next one later the next month, or, and this could be a somewhat bummer, they take a break into the New Year. Okay, so maybe like 3/4 empty.

I'm not a big fan, but it is a standalone, and since it's supposed to revisit the high school years, I find it rather apt, as the animated series would have taken place back in the high school days (at least that's what I thought, after viewing the short clip on one of the other boards). Late season 1 I think.

Here's my question: Does the grave stone say "Harlet - In Loving Memory?"
With the lack of Faith on the cover... that makes me chuckle a little lol.
And after looking at the cover a few more times, I really miss Cordelia. Which makes me really miss Anya. There's a real major hole that needs filling, these characters were pretty essential from seasons 1-7.

The only thing I can think of is that Faith selected the lipstick called "harl ot"... which can be used in the place of prostitute (they essentially mean the same thing). And if the tombstone you meant is the one behind Dawn, it could just as easily read "Harley".

Here's my question: Does the grave stone say " Harlet - In Loving Memory?" It says " Hurley"--it's a headstone that was seen quite a lot during the graveyard scenes on the show. Same for the "Alpert" crypt. The inclusion of those two details is about the only thing I actually like about this cover...

i'm super excited for this issue but it's so far away!! and I agree with the person who said that the presence of cordelia and anya are sorely missed. Someone needs to take their place as the comic relief b/c Andrew just doesn't cut it.

I'm actually more excited for this issue than #18 and #19, and look forward to the change of pace (even if it's just one issue).

"Hurley" and "Alpert". Hmm.....parallels between Buffy and Lost you say? Hurley Reyes and Richard Alpert are both characters on Lost. Not to mention the same episode titles that both shows share (Tabula Rasa and Homecoming with Buffy and Through The Looking Glass with Angel.)
Just something weird that I've noticed, being a fan of all three.
The variant cover is so cute. It'll be nice to see where they go with this idea. Also, yay for the return of Angel!

yeah i want a big slice of cordy in this issue. I wonder what the point or plot is going to be about. I hope it makes us want the animated show even more so more people will sign the petition, or maybe it's some plan and were doing what they want? Oh and p.s bring back anya

I just hope its somehow connected to S8 storyline like Anywhere but here and A Beautiful Sunset, and not like Chane ( don't get me wrong I loved that issue but we had to wait longer to get the story going again)

Although i would like it to stay connected to the overall story. I dont think it needs it, and if done right, i think i would prefer it as a standalone. If it isnt properly connected i think it will have more sentiment to it, maybe like if the whole thing is unrelated look back at how things used to be, then last page: BOOM, were back to present time, Buffy looking up at willow and saying "we need to talk".

Well I'm sure you've noticed that Lost and Buffy share some writers-David Fury, Drew Goddard, Brian K. Vaughn, so it's not that crazy of a theory.

I just hope its somehow connected to S8 storyline like Anywhere but here and A Beautiful Sunset, and not like Chane ( don't get me wrong I loved that issue but we had to wait longer to get the story going again) Well really 'The Chain' was connected to the overall story of season 8, just not so much Twilight. It was all about the repercussions of the slayer spell for one woman, Buffy's organisation and how it works and what being a slayer means for this particular girl. I think they're all themes that are being explored throughout the season one way or another. So whilst it wasn't Twilight-y or directly involving any of our main cast, it did keep within the themes of the season in my opinion. I'm not sure if this issue will have anything to do with the seasonal arc. I think it'll teach Buffy something important but I'm not sure how much further it will go. I'd be perfectly ok with that myself. In every televised season we got the casual break from the major arc of the season, and I wouldn't mind if this issue was one of those breaks. Especially given what the issue is about, I'd personally be very happy with all the panel time devoted to Cordy, Angel and the High school years as I miss that era terribly sometimes. And we could have some reall awesome Buffy/Xander/Willow time
