i do believe that at some point during her adolescent Will was infatuated with Buffster Technically, Willow wasn't "gay" till she was in college. Before that, it was purely boys: Oz and Xander to be exact. The definition of adolescence is kinda hazy, so unless you define it in a way that includes the college years (of a typical person), I'd say that she was a young adult at that point; i.e. living away from home, being independent, old enough to vote (but not drink, at least not in the US), old enough to be charged as an adult in the court of law, etc). She admired Buffy in high school, and at some points probably wished she was more like Buffy. But I don't know if she was ever infatuated (sexually) with Buffy.

Please, Willow WAS GAY in high school. She just hadn't come to fully realize it until she met Tara. I mean, "Doppelgangland" anyone?! Willow: "I think I'm kind of gay"...Hm...then we have her as the quiet, shy outcast in the earlier seasons..only drawn to the boy that she's known her whole life and is kind of a goofy outcast himself. Then we have her form a relationship with OZ- a quiet, not incredibly masculine guy. In real life a lot of gay people date heterosexually in high school. I think Willow might've liked Buffy at some point because Buffy befriended her and helped her come out of her shell and issue 13 or so even proved that Willow has wondered what Buffy was like in bed. But I don't think that Willow or Buffy even would cross that line with their friendship- or I hope not at least.

*shrug* Take it as you will. I see "Doppelgangland" Willow as a separate entity from Willow, an alternate universe version. Sexuality may, or may not, be genetically encoded, so I fail to see why one entity cannot display a separate preference. And just to note, "I think I'm kinda gay" was said with more than a little anxiety; I took it to mean that Willow was kinda freaked. Sexuality is fluid, at least, that's how I see it, and Joss seems to concur, so I don't see Willow as always being gay. In terms of masculinity, what detracted from Oz's? Nail polish? The fact that he wasn't running around fighting demons bare-fisted? That he lacked somewhat in bravado? That he was sensitive? Again, I'll say that Willow admired Buffy in high school for her spirit, and for who she was. And as for turning "gay", Willow fell in love with Tara as a person first; in other words, she was "Tara-sexual" more than homosexual at that point. Or bi. Whatever.

Without trying to sound mean , remember what angel said at that paricular episode ,before he was hushed by buffy? She might have been in love and not show it or not conbfessing it to anyone , the fact that she didn pursue or show any interest in girls during high school doesnt necessarily mean that she didnt have a crush on Buffy, just that she kept it to herselF. Now if we take into account that the hints created by Goddard are true then i would place that crush during high school and not during college, for as you said at that point she was all over Tara -or Oz earlier in season 4. BTW if one pays close attention in the episode Restless on will see willo readfs her report infront of her high school classmates AND Tara that to me means -well, beside the obvious that she was placed in the only location where she was most uncomfortable during the majority of her life- that she was dealing with her sexuality from early on. Thats my two cents , if we assume that the hints are real which i donnot believe them to be for in my opinion Willow has more chances of sleeping with Angel than with Buffy.

Thats my two cents , if we assume that the hints are real which i donnot believe them to be for in my opinion Willow has more chances of sleeping with Angel than with Buffy. I agree that the possibility is there for Willow to have fancied girls in high school; it's the same argument that can be made for Buffy's moments with Satsu. However, to use your argument, Willow was very devoted to the idea that maybe, just maybe, Xander would like her back. Then she went on to date Oz, whom she loved immensely, until their relationship ended, and then she fell in love with Tara. So up to the point of getting with Tara, she was constantly only wanting to be with boys. Was she curious? Possibly. Can you pinpoint it without reaching? That's subjective. And look, I'm not trying to argue when Willow actually went gay. But I disagree with your interpretation of the dream. I don't think that Willow's ever really been uncomfortable with her sexuality. She's tried both fields, and liked it with Oz, and liked it with Tara, and definitely liked it with Kennedy. Willow's even the one to pursue Oz for some before class nookie, when he comes back from a night with Veruca. And in the dream you're referring to, she's painting calligraphy on Tara's back, in what can only be described as an erotic setting. The segment which you're referring to (being back in high school), I took to be an extension of her being uncomfortable under scrutiny. She hated being in front of a crowd; she was terrified of being on stage in the episode that had Snyder forcing Buffy, Xander, and her to take part in the talent show. This was amplified in the bit of the dream that had her being a part of "Death of a Salesman". That Tara was in that dream was because she was afraid that Tara would ever see what a nobody (Willow's notion of herself in high school) she was in high school. By the time she had entered UC-Sunnydale, she was comfortable in her own skin, and she was excited to be in a whole new academic setting, enjoying college life. Her insecurities were no longer front and center (and who knows if Tara really ever saw Willow for anything other than an adept Wicca, who excelled in college at that point of their relationship), but clearly were still a big part of her, as manifested in the dream. While I'm not saying that your interpretation is wrong (I'm just saying I disagree with it), I think that this explanation has more basis in Willow's characterization. As for bit about the exchange in #15, I took it more as a bit of fun. Yes, we can read into it, but I'm not buying the Buffy/Xander pairing for now either.

I like the idea of Dawn being able to shape-shift. Like maybe her subconscious has turned her into a giant? That would be GREAT. Like she had sex so she feels more grown up. Her subconscious takes this literally and suddenly she's a giant. Now she's that half-horse, half-human thing. Love this idea! Its better then her having Telekinesis. I don't know. I think telekinesis would be kind of interesting to see with Dawn.

I really hope that this issue doesn't deal as much with Dawn and Xander as it does with Buffy and Fray.
The release date is Sept. 3rd, right?

I'm actually hoping for a lot of focus on Xander and Dawn this issue, at least a few pages more than we got in issue 17. I'm really looking forward to seeing where they go and what's gunna happen with the squad. Will the green mideval people follow them? I like this part of the story more than the Buffy/Fray part, surprisingly.

When I thought of Xander and Dawn, I didnt like the thought of it, but reading them together actually seems nice, so I do hope they get together.

I don't mind if they focus somewhat on the Dawn/Xander storyline but I want this to be Fray's moment because she is my favorite slayer. I don't mind if they TOUCH on Xander/Dawn but I feel that each issue is too short to focus a lot on it.

Buffy/Fray-future-vampire-ass-kicking part is the main story of this arc

September couldn't possibly come any sooner. The issue is coming out 2 days after I return from an overseas trip, and I'm really liking where Joss is taking this arc.

These last few issues have really left me hanging. The big reveal with FDW really shocked me and I can't wait to hear more of her story.

Copied from the Q&A with Allie;
25. gooberman: Dawn's so much cooler in these comics, what with the mythical creatures thing and all. The blurb for the next issue says she'll change again. Is that true, or is it just referencing the centaur change from #16?
Also on the subject of Dawn, will her changes have relevance to the overall plot, or are they just a sub plot purely for character development (and the odd city stomping)?
Scott: The way her thing is gonna play out, I don't know if you'd say it relevant to the overall plot, or if it's simply its own subplot. It's a pretty major subplot, and the way Joss weaves it all together, everything's essential. But I guess I'd describe it more as subplot.
See how he avoided to say if Dawn would have another change? I think that means something.

Any word on when the preview should be out? It seems they're been released later with each coming issue.
