I really like both covers.
It's gonna be cool to see some focus on Simone... Too bad we haven't seen her since issue 11 and I kinda forgot about her.
Weird we didn't get a title, though.

Someone on Whedonesque reminded me of what I thought would happen with the Simone storyline, I thought Faith would be the one to reign her in, not Buffy. But considering Buffy is so anti-guns, it does make sense this way too.

Why is everyone hating on Jo's cover !?!, its awsome ! her drawing of Buffy is superb.
The varients always seem to cartoonish to me.

Any chance that we're going to finally lay eyes on the Immortal? *g* - Also: Buffy, Andrew... what about that Spike-and-Angel-shaped elephant in the room, huh? - Simone, as most people predicted. Scott Allie has said that the Immortal will not be making an appearance in S8. It was in his Q&A session a while ago. But I love the expression on Andrew's face just a little bit more... it's so... wannabe James Bond-esque.  I only wish that Jeanty would stop drawing his jawline so square... Tom Lenk's face is not effeminate, but there's a general butchness about Jeanty's rendition that was kinda lacking in Tom's Andrew. |

He said that no plans to bring Fray back were in motion, and after the news about Time of your life was out, he said something like "I'm glad that I can stop pretending that we have no plans for Fray" or something like that. I will check the comics. I'm pretty sure that I didn't imagine it tough. |

I believe he said there were no specific plans, but that just means that there are no plans for Joss to write more Fray any time soon. I don't think it was meant to completely close the book on Fray. Just no plans for the immediate future, which is not surprising considering Joss' incredibly busy schedule of late.

I love both covers, they're both really well done IMO. I've always loved Jeanty's artwork inside the issues, I think he expresses emotion so well and he's my favourite artist we've had in season eight, but I've never liked his covers very much. But he did wonderfully in this cover, he managed to get the emotion across, I just love Buffy's expression. And as usual, the Chen cover is gorgeous, Buffy looks fierce and very pissed off and Simone's one scary chick.
The issue sounds great, can't wait to see how it unfolds. I always suspect Simone would appear in this arc I was just unsure of wether or not it'd be for Buffy/Andrew or Faith/Giles as it'd work either way, though for very different reasons.
Early predictions;
* Simone will point the finger at Buffy, something along the lines of "Hey I know what you've been up to, look who's talking"
* Spike/Angel *could* be mentioned
* Buffy will kill Simone like she nearly did Gigi, sending her on a downward spiral which will bring about her fall this season.

I think this would be a great way for the Buffy/Simone battle to eventually go down. It would bring back a lot of stuff that Buffy had to deal with when she was dealing with Faith in Season 3. If she actually kills Simone, I think that could provide some excellent character development for Buffy. |
