Cool, can't wait to find out more about Simone.
Oh, and is it just me or does that not really look like Buffy? I mean, it does, but at the same time it doesn't...
OOH! What about the other Buffy? The decoy in Rome?

Hmmm, from what I've seen, I doubt Buffy or anyone esle would trust her with that responsibility. And, in case Simone would have been the decoy, that would probably have been mentione in issue 11, when Buffy watched the screen of Simone and the other rouge slayers.
And I doubt she would have taken of her piercings to impersonate someone else.
And I didn't mean to shit all over your theory.

When did he say there was no Fray? My memory is kinda rusty about these things. Thanks in advance. I'm pretty sure that he said it in Slay the critics when people asked about Fray. He said that no plans to bring Fray back were in motion, and after the news about Time of your life was out, he said something like "I'm glad that I can stop pretending that we have no plans for Fray" or something like that. I will check the comics. I'm pretty sure that I didn't imagine it tough. #6 "Finally, we plan to get back to Fray's story some day, I promise. No news of now, though." It's mention in issue 1 as well. I seriosuly doubt ta hat Scott had no idea of Joss' plans...

Skytte,
Joss had the Time of Your Life arc planned before pretty much any other arc. It was plotted way back before Issue 1 was released. Allie was just not wanting to leak news of Fray's return. "No news for now" means no news that he's going to tell us, hence it's not news.
Fray's return was always planned as season 8 was created to bridge the differences between Buffy's and Fray's worlds created by the spell at the end of Chosen. Joss did this initially with the impetus to reconcile these differences. Fray was a huge part of what inspired the creation of season 8.

I know that. Joss most have had a plan outlined for entire season 8 before darkhorse was willing to publish it, which means that Scott knew.
So he had "news" to tell, unless we define the word your way. It's not like that was the only time he led us to believe there would be no Fray. He couldn't tell us, so he avoided the subject/lied.

He said flat out they planned to get back to Fray. First off, most people probably read that as "Fray 2" or whatever rather than Fray in Season 8. Second, "no news for now" doesn't mean much other than 'Even if there is, I'm not telling you'. Johnny Tightlips style. How did what he said lead us to believe there'd be no Fray when it says "we plan to get back to Fray's story some day". That's neutral at worst.

I think we're splitting hairs here. The phrase "no news" to me means that Scott had nothing he could tell us yet; not that he lied because that seems pretty harsh. It's similar to when anyone in PR is asked "Can you tell us anything about so and so?" The person has information on so and so, but cannot release it to the public yet so responds, "No news for now." It's not "news" until it's been released to the public, not in the news, not a news topic yet.
Scott Allie used an ambiguous statement about Fray, which is very different from what he said about the Immortal: "I don't believe the Immortal ever was or will be a part of Season Eight."
That's a pretty definitive statement considering he said this in July when most of the season has been mapped out already and the arcs assigned to individual writers.

It's definitly hairsplitting we're doing, but you can't denie taht he didn't tell us about Joss plans. He was ambigious, which is aprt of his work. And I would not be surprised if we got to see The Immortal considering how he practically said that Joss was to busy for Fray, which was wrong and kinda lying, since he most have known that Fray would come. Issue 1; "None of us would mind a Fray series. Joss is not so much unwilling as busy as all get out. He promises someday, but this series and another Serenity series are taking precedent right now." Not flat out lying, just implying that there is nothing planned for Fray, atleast not in season 8. Exactly, Scott implied that they were going to get to Fray "someday", while he knew that they were getting her back for season 8. So I'm not sure what you misunderstood with my post. I never said that he denied the possibility of Fray in for the future, but he led us to believe that there was no Fray planned for now. Which there was. It's more that neutral, it's hinting.

Skytte,
Allie is saying Joss is too busy for a separate Fray series, something outside of season 8. I'm not exactly sure what you're referencing with him regarding quotes, one is regarding season 8 (which he kept mum about) and the other is saying Joss is too busy for a separate continuation of Fray in her own world outside of Buffy season 8 - which again isn't surprising considering his busy schedule.
I'm a bit lost on what your original point was...

Venus, read the rules of the site. This is not spamming, we are discussing Buffy. And we can talk about TOYL as much as we want in this thread, it's allowed. Skytte, Allie is saying Joss is too busy for a separate Fray series, something outside of season 8. My original point was the even tough Scott said there would be no Immortal, that could be him "lying". Like he did with Fray. And you know what, I'm too tired to look into it, maybe Scott only denied a Fray miniseries, but not that she would show up in season 8. In that case I might be wrong. I just assumed that he denied that we would see Fray anytime soon, wheter it be in season 8 or in her own series. I didn't think about the difference. Either way, he had news about Fray. He just didn't want to tell us. And my original point was; Maybe we'll see the Immortal.

So what, you're surprised that a Buffy-site talks about BuffY??? This thread is so confusing ! *walks around* All you need to know is that I'm right, and everyone else are wrong. I feel like such a wanna-be know-it-all. Or a grumpy old teacher.
