Buffy fans who didn't care for Angel?

My point is that it's not fair to compare Buffy to Angel. Joss had a different vision for Angel.

I never really cared for the whole detective thing on Angel. I really hated season 1, it just seemed like a CSI type of show with monsters of the week, then they brought back Darla and things started to pick up... I was also annoyed that there were so many monsters in LA just wandering on the streets. I mean what the hell? (no pun intended)

Vampires were cool but I never really liked the siliness of certain monsters' appearance. I know it was meant to be funny but it just seemed stupid to me (for example for shark headed monster on Buffy was really aggravating).

^^I agree (although this is going slightly off-point). I watched Tabula Rasa yesterday while stoned in a really good mood and enjoyed it more than I usually do. A highlight was the loan-shark, particularly the attitude he has with Buffy - so polite and respectful!

Yeah sure, Buffy was always a better show for me and especially because of the character Buffy and her journey.
There was only one vampire/person i liked more and that was Spike.

I only buy the Buffy comics now, tried to like a few Idw Spike comics, mostly they were just average at best. I'm gonna give the Spike on-going series a shot when that's released but i fear the Angel shadow will always loom over Spike at Idw.
Buffy always had the more fun and intresting side-characters compared to Angel. Willow,Spike,Giles,Xander,Dawn,Tara,Anya were always more fun then Wesley,Gunn,Cordelia,Fred,Illyria to me.

Wow, I never knew there was so much Angel and Wesley hatred on this board. I love Angel the series. Sure, Buffy will always be number one in my book, but Angel is good in its own right and deserves credit as a great show. I fell in love with the characters on Angel just as with Buffy, especially Lorne, Fred, and Doyle (while he lasted anyway ). I am currently rewatching season 1 of Angel and it really is a pretty solid season, tons of great standalone eps. Season 5 will always be my fave though.

sorry to say this but, i really like buffy. but angel really didn't grab me (as much). i still collect the toys bc of some of the characters on the show, but i don't really even like the season 6 comics (even though im thinking about trying to like them after seeing that dru is coming back in them) but really im more of a buffy fan (i have all the season 8 issues, lol). But im not saying i hate the show, bc i don't, im just saying if i had a choice between what to watch i would definatily pick buffy over angel.
