Well, not all of it, I enjoyed the dialouge between Willow and Parker at The Grotto.Which by the way,The Grotto, was that an attempt at having a new hangout? It seemed like it and then they realized well...we blew up the high school, there's no library so let's keep them at the Bronze so there's SOMETHING being held on to. Anyway,I digress. My beef with Beer Bad is the fact that Buffy looks like she has NO caveman makeup on her. She just looks dirty. Anyone else agree?

I have a feeling they just didn't want to make SMG look ugly. Or perhaps the men just drank more of the beer, causing them to change more? Who knows.
I didn't hate the episode. It had some funny moments, and I agree the dialogue between Willow and Parker was interesting. I'm not really sure what was that bad about it, I just know something was off with that episode.

I rationalized Buffy not going facially neanderthal because she didn't drink as much of the beer as the other college guys. Plus she still had to be pretty, right?
Beer Bad is one of those episodes that I realize is not the greatest, but I still find it entertaining. I'd much rather watch Beer Bad than Doublemeat Palace, but there are a bunch of people on this board who love DP. Go figure <shrugs>

I like Doublemeat Palace more than Beer Bad. It reminded me of The Freshman in that it threw Buffy into this new awkward situation and had her handle things in a very emotional, real way. Plus I thought it had a nice little mystery plot going on. One thing I HATED about that episode though was that rediculous spell Amy cast on Willow. I understand they wanted Willow to grow and develop and sever her ties with Amy, but the spell itself was just stupid.
Why would Amy think it would be "fun" for everything Willow to touch to go all gooey? Plus they only showed her actually doing it two or three times, and then never showed how she got over the little spell either. It was just a really odd side-story that wasn't executed well.

I think I just shudder at the thought of working in a fastfood restaurant.
But I love the scene in Beer Bad where Buffy says "Buffy strong" and Giles just agrees like 'oh god here comes another concussion'. I bet Giles had wicked good health insurance. It's beyond necessary for the Council to offer good med benefits.
Wyndam, I love how we posted the same reasons for the no caveman makeup...I hadn't read your post before til just now lol.

Buffy spinning on the chair is reason enough to watch this episode.

Yeah, Buffy didn't go all Neanderthal because Xander sent her home before she could drink as much of the enchanted beer as the other four guys.
It's actually one of my favorite episodes, just because Sarah is so funny, and I love her and David when they get a chance to break out of their "normal" Buffy & Angel personas and do something different for an episode or two. Buffy as caveslayer, or the Buffybot, or the 18th-century girl in "Halloween". Angel as Jay-Don in "The Shroud of Rahmon", or young Liam in "Spin the Bottle", or the old guy Marcus in "Carpe Noctem". They both have a great talent for just straight-up comedy, so I really enjoy when they get a chance to really show that off...

Well I ot to admit Beer Bad was one of the few episodes in season 4 I actually liked. Sorry but season 4 didnt have alot of good episodes. I mean it was the last season I bought. As far as the makeup goes. Its like what others say above, its due to the fact that Buffy didnt drink as much as they did. Plus Beer Bad had some great one liners
Xander - Buffy I cut you off
Buffy - Did it hurt?

The only episode that I didn't like really was Buffy vs. Dracula, it just seemed way too cheesy and cliche. I would've thought he'd be treated the same way Halloween is in the Buffyverse. It seemed a little shark-jumpy to me.

Another reason that Buffy didn't go neanthertal is that she has slayerpowers and slayerresistance.

I thought Beer Bad was a pretty good comedic episode.Cave Buffy was pretty funny. The Willow/Parker talk was great.Xander attempting to still be a part of his friends lives by working at a bar that they shouldn't even be in due to the fact that they were underage.
No,it wasn't a powerful episode,but I found it consistently humorous.

Beer Bad > Hells Bells... Umm.... that is a surprising claim (lol) As far as both Buffy and Angel episodes, (that is, I think, 254 when added up) "Beer Bad" is easily the worst. It's nearly unwatchable, a quality that none of the other 253 episodes have. There are bad episodes ("The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco," "Superstar," "Doublemeat Palace") but then there is "Beer Bad." It's not even 'bad, but okay because it's BtVS.' It's just... really really awful. There are... people out there who don't like Hells Bells? Would that be from this dimension or the shrimp one?

I loved 'Beer Bad'. I thought it was one of the funniest episodes and also had some good story to it, like Xander trying to fit into a part of the college lifestyle and the Willow and Parker chat. And Buffy falling off the chair and getting angry at it was classic. 'Hell's Bells' and 'Buffy Vs. Dracula' are great episodes too! I find that a lot of people don't like 'Buffy Vs. Dracula' but I thought it was good. It was the start of Buffy showing her dark side and made her want to know more about her power.
