My geekiness showed up when I took a college course on Buffy and started reading fanfic, around the same time that I bought all the dvds. Before that I just watched the show when it aired and that was about it. Lol and my geekiness has increased from this website too

I already knew I was a geek before I started watching Buffy, but I realized I'm a Buffy geek when I started having in depth Buffy conversations with myself because I didn't have anyone else to talk about it with.

Actually, the other day I was all like "I'm no geek! Ha!" Then I saw my two Buffy Premium Format Exclusive figures and remembered my Angel and Spike ones and that whole thought went out the window.

Buffy was my realization of my geekdom. I mean, I'm sure I'd had hints before...but the extent of the conversations I've been in with some of my friends have just had a lot of "Wow... this is geeky" moments for myself.

I had another moment a couple of hours ago, when I was scanning a few Buffy comics so I could photoshoop. I was giddy in a geeky way.

I did a paper for a Sci-Fi class at my university on Buffy. Then I did another.(I got A's on both, Then I bought the Chosen collection and regained my Buffy obsession that I had since I was 12. Probably bought about 30 Buffy books & comics in the last month. I know I'm obsessed now because my bank account says so. lol

I have so many 'Buffy Geek' moments. I have seen every single episode of the series so many times that I have lost count. In fact, it is because of this that I am pretty sure I would be able to recite whole episodes of dialogue with the show on mute! I know every single episode title by heart, and just by hearing the title of the episode I can give you a run down synopsis. I can even remember key scenes, (and less key ones too, lol) down to minute detail! Even down to outfits the characters are wearing in which eps! So yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say that I am obsessed with Buffy. Most of my friends and family just don't get it, and are constantly making fun of me and my Buffy geekdom. I am practically a walking encyclopedia of Buffy knowledge and am constantly walking around quoting Buffy (this annoys my fiance, lol) It seems that I am constantly relating Buffy to my life and using Buffy quotage as part of my everyday language. It has gotten so over the years that I know very well how the characters speak and find myself talking in the manner that they do/would. For all the hard time my fiance gives me though, he is actually very supportive of my obsession. He has watched Buffy with me, and has even admitted that he likes the show! (season 7 is his fave). Over the years he has bought me several Buffy items, (the most recent being the scythe!) and has even taken me to many Buffy cons where I have had the pleasure of meeting some of my fave stars! He even bought me most of My Buffy DVD collection. My Buffy obsession has been with me since I was 16, and I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon! In fact, Buffy is something I would like to introduce my future children to someday. One of the things I love so much about Buffy is its very passionate and loyal fanbase. In other circles I may be slightly embarrassed to talk about my Buffy geekdom, but here, I bare no shame in proudly declaring that I am a Buffy geek! Is there any better kind?!

I did a paper for a Sci-Fi class at my university on Buffy. Then I did another.(I got A's on both, I also did a college paper on Buffy. It was a drama essay for English Lit class, and I focused it on 'Restless.' It took a lot of guts to ask my professor if I could do that, because I thought sure that he would just laugh in my face. Turns out though that he had actually heard of the show and had actually studied it. What a cool professor! Anyways, I got an A and it was the most fun I had ever had writing a paper in my life!

When I started connecting Buffy to my social life. For example: I matched all my friends up to couples on the show. And all my friends know me as 'Anya', because I quote her constantly. They're really getting scared of me. I'm not to the level some of you guys are, mostly because I don't have the money to buy stuff. (I don't even have the DVD's. ) But I will get there someday. It is my life goal!

I usually notice how geeky I am when I get so excited for something Whedon related, like when the Buffy season eight comics started and with Dollhouse. I don't think I get excited for anything that isn't Whedon. Or not to the same extent.
When I was in high school my friends and I would always make Buffy references and quote things. Our little group would find it hilarious when everyone else would just be confused. That and when you try to explain something Whedon to someone how doesn't know about it, that's when I usually have my "Wow. I'm a geek." moments.

I realised I was a Buffy Geek when I was involved in a conversation with my friends about Buffy and I was explaining a continuity error or something and everyone else was talking about how attractive all the male characters were.
I have also fascinated my "Buffy-fanatic" friends with how I can name every Buffy episode when they say something about a certain scene or when a character did a certain thing.

In regards to my Buffy papers, I was very luck with my professor. She was the one to actually get me back into my Buffy obsession. She let me borrow some of the seasons. She has a vampire class that focuses on Buffy, which is super awesome. Her office is full of Buffy dvds, a Buffy cutout, a Spike cutout, the Buffy lollipops, and millions of Spike pictures.
So, it was wonderful. But that's so great that so many people are inspired by Buffy for school!

I wouldn't say that I am a Buffy geek, just slightly obsessed.I don't buy the books or figures, but I do have all the seasons of both BTVS and Angel.I also read some fanfiction as well(to be fair,I also read alot of original fiction as well)
For me,BTVS is one of the only T.V. show that I really ever got into(Star Trek The Next Generation was the other)

Another geeky thing..... just submitting my info for the Senior part of our school yearbook, and putting Buffy under the "Thank You" section....

Haha...this thread is great. I have moments like this all the time. I will be having a conversation with someone and it doesn't matter the topic somehow I can relate it to something I saw or heard on Buffy or Angel. However once I start quoting lines and I see the looks of my friend's faces I usually stop and declare that as a "geeky moment".
