The other day I went round my mrs' house and walked past her brother's bedroom. He was watching some old Buffy on his computer with headphones on. As I past I saw a flash of the episode, not even a second, with no sound or even camera cuts. I saw Willow standing in a school corridoor. With that split second, I somehow knew exactly what episode it was. I told my girlfriend I could guess its episode name, number and season from what I saw.....
... and I was right.
Never have I been so full of pride and shame simultaniously lol.
Do you have any of these moments?

Most definitly. half a year ago, on another forum, we had this 'guess the quote-game' and I was good at guessing(i knew which clothes the character had, i remembered the facial expression, etc, I was on fire) , and someone asked me how often i watched Buffy and I realized that i'm a Buffy-freak.
My niece and sister also makes fun of me. I mean i get it, I buy Buffy merchandise while living on wellfare so... I've had those moments.

When talking to casual fans of the show, they usually try to play it cool by being really vague about which eps they remember. I, however, am shameless, and will be able to tell them exactly which season, which ep, and what the significance (if any) of it was. Usually, this just brings about looks of incredulity, and teasing usually ensues. All this despite my best efforts to steer the conversation towards what they thought about the episode. Sheesh.

I love being the geek around my friends. All they have to do is name a number 1-144 or 1-110 and I'll figure out the episode. Most of them are amazed, but I'm sure I'm not the only one here who can do it.

Most of them are amazed, but I'm sure I'm not the only one here who can do it. Give me ten minutes, pen & paper and I'll get over 85% right. But only on the Buffy eps, since i haven't really gotten into Angel as much. But if people start to smile and say; "So you're not that big a fan" I'll tell them how much i payed for a Spike-shirt, and that will shut them up.

I can watch any scene of any episode of Buffy and Angel. Even if it is the least important scene of the bunch I can know, the plot of that episode, the season, and the episode title by the end of the scene.
Also, I have proven my Buffy geekiness when I was bored one day. I made a list of the major characters and put how many episodes they appeared in. Then I worked out the percantage of how much they appear in the show:
Ex: Buffy: 144 episodes: 100% Willow: 144 episodes: 100% Xander: 143 episodes: 99% Giles: 122 episodes: 85% Spike: 97 episodes: 67% Anya: 85 episodes: 59%
I went all the way down to Kennedy (I'm a nerd). Then I did it with Angel. So that proves it, when I'm grounded from Tv, and computer, and friends during the summer. That's what I do calculate Buffy Stuff.

I can look at any scene or piece of dialogue from all 3 major whedon shows and tell you exactly what episode it was from, the plot of the episode, and also name every episode in order for each series. It's not only testament to Whedon owning my soul, but also to the quality and distinctiveness of his shows.

That would be "Conversations with Dead People." Weren't there plans though for him to be in the episode? I forget what they were though.

<smacks head> that was driving me crazy. we could also count the unaired pilot, which is missing AH as Willow. But Angel still wins for most eps in the buffyverse with 168 appearances on BtVS and AtS.

I looked it up on Wikipedia because I knew something had been planned for Xander, and it was to bring Jesse Balfour back. He played Jesse. There were also plans to bring Halfrek back for Anya as well. Pretty neat ideas.

I can rattle off almost any line of dialogue from memory, verbatim, which is way more than just a little scary when I stop to think about it... which I try my best not to. "You saw her. She's a truck-drivin' magic mama, and we've got maybe seconds before Darth Rosenberg shows up and grinds us all into Jawa burgers, and not one of you bunch has the midi-chlorians to stop her!" Most of Fred's science-jargon lines go in one ear and out the other, tho, so those are about my limit.

i'm becoming obsessed with the show but i'm not quite there yet. i'm getting to the point where i know episode seasons, numbers, and titles but i'm not an expert (yet). i hope to get to your levels eventually though. but my friends at school have been making fun of me lately for it. i have a friend that likes Buffy and i told her about the Buffy things i just bought off the internet and i was naming episode season/numbers/titles and she was like "wow. you're an even bigger buffy dork than me." so her and our friend that doesn't watch buffy keep calling me a buffy dork. you can even see it on my youtube comments <www.youtube.com/princessparadise> lol

I realized I was a Buffy geek when I knew all the lines in an episode.
The episode was... Hush.
Get it?
Ha! I crack myself up!
But really... I don't know when I realized I was a Buffy Geek. I guess when I took all these quizzes and kept getting all the answers right.

My geekiness is less about trivia and knowing what goes on in every episode, and more about analyzing things to the point where they take on new meaning. Can't tell you how many times people have told me "I never thought of it that way" while looking at me like like im insane.

My friend pulled a bunch of random Magic cards out of my collection and told me one line of text from each one. And I was able to name them all. Even one with no text.
So, technically not Buffy related, but it still fits the whole general theme.
