I hate "Hell Bound", but I at least have a couple of reasons why, beyonnd "I just really don't like it". Mainly, I don't think it's scary. At all. There was not one single moment that made me jump or flinch, or gave me nightmares. And yet I get the feeling that it was really trying to be--that it wanted to be in the "Blair Witch" category of scariness. Ever have a friend who thinks they're really funny, and they're not, and every time they tell a joke you smile politely while inwardly rolling your eyes? This was like the horror-ized version of that. ("Billy" was much scarier, I thought, and even "After Life" had a higher 'creepy' factor.) And the other reason is that the ghosts Spike was being haunted by meant nothing to him--they were W&H people he'd never met. It would've made for a much more interesting story IMO if he'd been being haunted by people he'd killed, a la Angel in "Amends". There would've been some emotional resonance to the story for him, and he would've had a chance to experience a little character growth during the course of the ep. Instead, he was pretty much the same character when the episode ended as he was when it began, and that growth didn't happen until the end of "Damage", 7 eps later... Well I guess people just have different things that scare them. I dont really think that it had literal JUMP scares but I do feel that majority of it, well after Payne showed up, had a lot of creepiness and buildup. |

I would never go as far to say there is an episode i strongly dislike but there are the occasional one or two that are rather meh. And even if they are there are still some nice moments in them to go back and rewatch. Season 1 - I Robot You Jane. - Not awful, just a tad underwhelming, also Moloch is totally cool, well until he gets in the big tin suit anyway. Season 2 - When She Was Bad - The cheesy pan away at the end with the dodgy music is enough to warrant this episode being here, but also Buffys cringeworthy 'sexy' dance and her apparant 'a little too god' comebacks. And oh god, Abasalom  hes such a lame vamp all he does is scream. Season 3 - Amends - It just doesnt excite me. Season 4 - Obvious candidate 'Beer Bad' - Frat boys just annoy me, and Buffys such a sucker for them. I watch this episode purely for Buffys hilarious dream sequence. Season 5 - Buffy vs Dracula - Nothing really stood out as bad for me in this season as i hold S5 with very high regards and believe its almost flawless. Nethertheless the awful casting of Dracula is appauling. However thankfully his character has been redeemd in the wonderful S8. Season 6 - Dead Things - Just painful to watch, good development of characters but just a bit too much depression for one episode. Season 7 - Sleeper - Just dont care for this sleeper agent storyline. |

Ok, I've been meaning to give a crack at this for ages. Also, please be advised that this is Tara from Buffyfest and not Michelle or Bitsy. I know that might be obvious but I don't want them yelling at me for representing them when these are just my most hated eps! They'll prolly disagree w some of them.
Buffy Season 1: The Pack. We watched this together not long ago and I decided it's almost unwatchable.
Buffy Season 2: Prolly Inca Mummy Girl. It's got a couple of cute moments (Willow and Oz, the twinkies, etc) but compared to a stellar season I don't think it holds up. I, for one, happen to love Reptile Boy and Bad Eggs. They really grew on me after the years, although I understand the hate.
Buffy Season 3: Dead Man's Party. Also, great season and a clunker right in the beginning. Start of the season is often weak for me.
Buffy Season 4: Where the Wild Things Are. I'd rather hear "Beer - Foamy!" a million more times than watch this crappy ep again. Also not fond of the first 2 eps of the season.
Buffy Season 5: Listening to Fear. This is just an amazing season with crap episodes peppered in...unlike season 4 which is a crappy season with some fantastic eps peppered in.
Buffy Season 6: I'm going to go with Doublemeat.
Buffy Season 7: Oh where to begin? How about I'll just say the only ep I liked was Selfless. If I must choose, it's by Showtime that I really wanted to kill myself.
ATS Season 1: I Fall to Pieces. Lame.
ATS Season 2: Judgement. Although the Faith bit saves it. I do love some of the clunkers like "The Shroud of Rahmon" and "Guise will be Guise". They're bad but hilarious. What every happened to Virginia?
ATS Season 3: The Price makes me sad. It's a crap ep with gross slugs and Groo leaves. I love Groo.
ATS Season 4: Supersymmetry. RIP to Fred and Gunn. I was one of the few rooting for them.
ATS Season 5: Damage has caused a lot of problems for me.
