I'm glad they kept Season 5 as is, but both of those end-of-season-5 scenarios would make sweet movies!

Wow again, thanks so much for posting all the rumors and the link! I thought that all the info contained in the link was very interesting, especially about Faith dying, Jenny coming back, and all of the LA branch. I'd love to have another hour tacked onto The Gift; it would make it that much better! I wonder what stopped a lot of these ideas from happening? Some of them are very interesting; some I'm really glad didn't happen...like Spike being totally evil and biting Buffy, and Xander being Glory.

Joyce as Mom From Hell = Gingerbread Doppleganger Buffy = When She Was Bad pretty close, IMO also, why the heck would anyone want Doyle to be a big bad???

Wow at all of them!. If the LA group did meet up with Buffy for the end of season 5 they wouldn't have met Fred right? and the Spike biting Buffy thing?!.
Would have been good for Buffy to turn into a vampire at the end of season 5 and play the villain for half of season 6 but then turn back into a human at the end, or something like that. Just a thought.

Well he died...no body though so my guess is that when he came back he would have came back wrong, we would have had a lot of "we can still save him" from Angel and it would probably end with "the Doyle we knew is gone, this isn't him"
*big fight, big axe, emotional dialogue...dead Doyle followed by brooding Angel. The End*

I remember a rumor on the IMDB boards, circa "Lessons" that Katherine was going to come back! Haha, good times! I still remember that! I was so excited.

The writers say in The Monster Book, which was written way before Buffy season seven, that if they were going to bring back the First, it would be in Angel because that show is more spiritual and it would fit better with the series' themes. Maybe Doyle was just going to be the face of the First? I actually thought, back when IDW were hyping A:AtF #5 as the biggest event of all-time, that Doyle was going to come back. So seeing Fred was kind of anti-climatic.

Agree that we've already had 'When she was bad' and 'Gingerbread' which sounds like the mirror and mom-from-hell eps in some form. I heard that Helpless was going to be an ep where the council drug Buffy and she hallucinates all the Scoobs are vamps but it was felt to be too close to The Wish and Kristine Sutherland was allergic to the vamp makeup.
The Buffy sired idea has been going around for a long time, I understand that in the end she was going to bite Dawn and The Key's blood would restore both her body and soul. I'm so glad they didn't kill Faith (almost letting her off too easy, her redemption is harder and more interesting this way) and I think we should let Tara rest (although it would have been nice to have a cameo in CWDP).
Another idea I heard about was that Buffy would inadvertently lose her powers to Xander. She would adjust to being a normal girl and he would revel in being a superhero and bedding all the Scoobygirls and Joyce, even Tara unable to resist this ultimate alpha-male. But then the power starts driving him slowly crazy which is why the Slayer is always female.
Cordy as an undercover hooker? In your dreams Joss! Sounds like all those lame DTV movies where the heroine (reporter or murder victim's loved one or tough but beautiful tomboy cop) infiltrates the world of prostitution for some lame reason but then discovers she likes it. Still, it would have had the adult fanficcers going into overdrive!
One thing I'm sorry we didn't see was Dawn imagining telling her new class at Sunnydale High her REAL life story. Maybe on the DVD Special Editions?

While I prefer the less dark "Lonely Hearts", I do think this line from "Corrupt" was hilarious: CORDELIA: " So, how's tricks, fellow hookers?" STREETWALKER #1: " Bitch, if you're living the life, I'm Julia Roberts."

I found the site containing the old spoilers. Not everything I mentioned is there, but the Buffy-getting-sired thing is. Not sure where I heard the other stuff. cultureconundrum.wordpress.com/2009/02/19/buffy-and-angel-foilers/I also remember hearing that the "end of magic" flashback in Fray was supposed to tie into the end of season seven, but the story completely changed. There's a mention of a bunch of foilers for season 7 listed somewhere. Anyone have them, other than those mentioned already?

It's hard because as the show gets older and more time passes, sometimes mere speculation and fan-made things get thrown in with "scrapped episode" ideas. How are we to know for sure, unless we get an article or other sources. Hearsay, is well hearsay. Not exactly saying anyone is lying, but it is quite a challenge to see how the age of magic storyline was to be addressed in Season 7, originally. We know for a fact that many episodes were going a specific direction till midway, after Sarah said it was her last season. So I don't see how we would have gotten from Bring on the Night to an all out magic-ending battle depicted in Fray...

That would be great. A Buffy book written by Joss. But since he's a busy man, perhaps someone could ask Joss, "Is this and this and this interview correct? Did you say this?" and that someone could, after colecting enough info, write a book about Joss thoughts and plans and ideas on the buffyverse, and he could work with that author to get it right.
It's possible to find interviews and databases with seemingly reliable info online, but getting his ideas in print would be better.

I think that idea for a book would be absolutely amazing. If that could ever happen, it'd be the best thing EVER. I would snatch that book up in a second.

After reading those foilers....wowie zowie...Faith dying for Buffy, Spike siring Buffy and Buffy turning human again through drinking Dawn's blood, Anya dying and Xander being possessed by Glory..... Honestly, that all would've been too much, and though I think it would've been handled well by the cast and crew, I think my brain may have exploded. Cool topic

You sure you couldn't handle it?
Just think about what just the last three season gave us. Dawn, Glory, Willow's magic, Buffy dying, Buffy comics back and having sex with Spike, more of Willow's magic, geeks trying to rule the town, Spike trying to rape Buffy, Willow trying to destroy the world, Spike's soul, Potentials, the first, lots of slayers...
I think we could have handeled it. Hell, I think Buffy turning would have been healthier for her than having sex with.... wait, they probably would have had sex anyway. Glad there was no turning.
