My favorites were Jordin, Melinda, and Blake last night. Either of them could be the American idol. Sanjaya, I love ya but it's time for him to go home. Last night was the worst for him.

Um yeah I agree. Sanjaya has to go now, I would be kinda peeved if someone who can sing well was voted off and he got yet another week!!
PS-I'm really tired of all the buzz around this kid!

I just ordered a "Vote for Sanjaya" t shirt (its the same as the Napoleon Dynamite "Vote For Pedro" shirt) so he better not get voted off tonight!

I think there is going to be a severe Sanjaya backlash. As soon as he gets voted off (or even if he wins) people will grow tired of him and his hair, so you guys will have your wish soon enough, and my Sanjaya shirt will go to goodwill.

Sanjaya has been voted off.  I personally believe he was sabotaged by the producers. In the beginning, his song choices and styling reflected his personality, and that's why people liked him so much and he was getting all of these votes. Between the Tony Bennett performance, sitting down in Latin Week and putting a bandana on his head last night, they did it on purpose to make people think he was boring. I doubt the contestants have any say in what song they will be singing, what they wear, or how their hair is done. The show was becoming a joke in the eyes of many and they ruined one persons chances at winning( legitamately! no matter how bad he was, people were voting for him.) in order to save the credibility of the show. Which is a joke, since this isn't a competition......its a reality show. Do you think any of those awful singers would make it in front of the 3 judges if they weren't just trying to get ratings? I also think that the way the audience treated Sanjaya was very unfair. I don't think he entered this with the intention of destroying the credibility of AI, and I felt SO BAD for him when he was cheered for getting voted off. Its not his fault he's so lovable! I'm sorry, I'm just bitter. Lakisha looks frighteningly like Princess Fiona I noticed...........she should have gone home |

I have to respectfully disagree with you. I do not think he was staying on because of all the people whop legitimately liked him were voting for him. I know that there were allot of people who really liked him but I sincerely believe that the majority of the people who were voting for him was because it was such a joke. I am thrilled to no end that Sanjaya got voted off before Lakisha....that would have been a horrible injustice.....well, as much an injustice as an American idol vote off could be  I am personally happy that he is gone. I do feel bad that he got cheered for being voted off but I believe that he did indeed deserve to be voted off. |

I'm a Sanjaya fan but it was really time for him to go. I'm excited for him because I think he is going to be the most successful Non-American Idol winner. I've heard that he is going to be on Hanna Montana. If he is smart, he could work out getting his own show. He could make albums and those kiddie dvds series like (Olsen twins/Hilary Duff) and make a fortune.

I'm excited for him because I think he is going to be the most successful Non-American Idol winner. I highly doubt he will be the most succrssful non-winner considering Clay Aiken has outsold 3 of the 5 winners. Plus a lot of last years contestants are doing really well and they actually have a thing called Talent. |

Okay...  Yeah, I guess we have to wait and see. I think Sanjaya does have talent. He isn't the most amazing singer but a lot of successful singers aren't the best. He is still pretty young and I was just saying that everyone knows his name. He has a lot of young fans and whatever he does(shows,music,movie) he'll be highly publicized. That inturn gives him the opportunity to become very successful. The reason I said he could be the most successful is because I think he can go beyond selling just albums. Sanjaya has a big market. He could have a show on Disney/Nickelodeon, make music, commericals, and dvds/movies. He doesn't have the best singing voice but he's a very likeable kid. |

I don't find him all that likeable at all but I definately see what you are saying and I agree to a point.
The majority of America might see him as a joke but the market that seems to have a large ammount of buying power finds him hugely appealing. The teen/tween market will eat up anything he does. And hey, look at HighSchool Musicla! Wasn't it the highest selling album of the year?!

I think Jordin just won American Idol. That was amazing she kicked everyones ass. And whats up with LaKisha singing another song by an American Idol winner whats next she will sing a Ruben Studdard song next week.

I was thinking the same thing. Lakisha is definately singing Ruben next week I was thinking about the "suprize duets" that they are talking about. Wouldn't it be cool if they paired up the top 6 idols with past idol winners! I guess this wouldn't work because there are 6 contestants left and only 5 previous winners....but that would be so cool! I thought Jordin was AMAZING. Really spectacular and just so totally sencere! Amazing! Blake was pretty good too but I agreed with the judges completly. If you are going to sing a John Lennon song, you have to know that it is going to be next to imposible to pull it off with out people comparing you to Lennon instead of rating your performance based on YOUR abilities. I think the bottom three will be Lakisha, Phil, and Blake. You could swap any of them with Chris though I still do really like him. Melinda was really good too but for some reason, I found her kinda' forgitable. The same goes for Phil but I can't fairly judge him because I am not a fan of his. I am so excited for tomorrow night! GWEN  SQUEE! Ok...moving on. Tomorrow night should be pretty amazing. The bill of performers is incredible! I can't wait to see what the suprise is and who is dueting (sp?)!! |

I was sad that Gwen (and pink and BONO) got bumped/cut down for time but hey, I can be disapointed but I can't honestly complain about a show that is probably going to raise upwards of 50+ million dollars to save the lives of children around the world!!

How could I have forgotten to mention that!
I was so suprised to see Sarah in the Staying Alive video!!
Had anyone heard of that before hand. I was sitting there naming all fo the celebrities for my mom (who had no clue who 1/2 of them were) and then I look away and she starts shouting "Buffy!"
