here are my thoughts on which Dollhouse characters realte to which BTVS characters...... Boyd Langton - Giles :smart: Mellie - Tara  Topher Brink - Warren  Adelle DeWitt - Mrs. Gwendolyn Post i couldn't put a name on any others. what are your thoughts? |

Erm... Topher is cute, Warren isn't. And I'm not talking about the creepy stalker, rape attempter bit. Warren just makes my skin itch... he's like a flea. Or a tick. Or lice. Yech!

I really don't know what it is about Adam but I look at him and I think... Beaker! You know, the little fuzzy-headed lab assistant off Sesame Street? lol I really don't know where my head's gone sometimes.
I have to get on board with not knowing how Topher and Warren look similar... ! Plus I don't think Topher's a psychopath, but he's definitely in the nerd brigade, so I can see how you could pair them up.

Paul Ballard: Angel wannabe that's not working out
Topher: mix between warren/andrew (minus warren's anger and andrew's scardy cat ness)
Adelle DeWitt: mix between joyce and giles since she cares about echo and has to make hard cruel decisions sometimes. she's like the head guy from the watchers council.
Dr. Claire Saunders: not sure. she seems a bit like a giles also.
Laurence Dominic: spike

You can't compare Victor at all with Xander except for the fact that they're male. Same goes with Sierra and Willow, and Laurence and Spike. The others work a little better. |

Here are my comparisons: Boyd: Obvi Giles Adele: Sort of Quentin Travers, sort of Maggie Walsh Topher: Andrew! I thought of it, and then my mom brought it up to me(LOL) that he reminded her of Andrew. For me, it's the nerdiness and the blondeness Echo: Buffy-esque, as Caroline at least. But I can't really compare her yet. Ballard: Angel, always trying to do the right thing and get to the bottom of things. Dominic: Now HE reminds me of Warren. He's an a-hole, tried to take Echo out...I just don't like him. Sierra: Well, when she's a badass, she reminds me of Faith. Otherwise, I'm not sure. Mellie: Tara-like, soft-spoken and sweet, but she's got some pain in there somewhere. Not sure about what yet, sans her deceased daughter. |

the only connection i see is Mellie and Tara...
Adelle & Gwendolyn Post: not at all alike other than the being british part... one is evil, the other is the head of an evil organization. There's a difference, people! haha jk. and the only way i see Boyd Being giles is if Echo is buffy which i personally don't see.
i really don't see the topher/warren connection other than they kinda look alike and they're geeks.

I noticed the character connections a lot more with Firefly (Wash=Xander, Kaylee=Willow, Mal=Angel, Jayne=Spike, et cetera), but, if I reach a little, I can kinda sorta notice the connections in Dollhouse, too. For example:
Topher - Andrew (although he's more like Wash than anyone else in the Whedonverse).
Boyd - Giles
Adelle - Lilah
Mellie - Tara
Echo/Caroline - Buffy, only less funny and more annoying.
Victor - Xander

slightly off topic but does anyone else notice that ballard and mal have a similar delivery to their lines?
obviously the lines are completely different but there's something about the tone and inflection that reminds me of the captain

Xander in Halloween when he's back and talks about how he was there but couldn't reach out was just like Victor.
In Tabula Rasa Buffy was in a way remembering past emotions cause she says she feels Joany so that kinda reminded me of Echo.
Topher - Xander & Warren mixed.
DeWitt - Wesley, Giles, And that fake watcher lady.

I definitely agree with the Topher/Andrew one. Topher has reminded me of Andrew since day one! I think the Boyd/Giles one is a good call too. I think the relationship between Echo and Boyd and his wanting to protect her is very reminiscent of the Buffy/Giles relationship. I think some were a stretch, (like Claire/Simon and Sierra/River) but these two I think were spot on! I also really agree with the Buffy/Echo one. There have been many times while watching watching that I have thought of Echo as very Buffyesque; and also very faith like as well. And I think the Jayne/Dominic one was waaaaaaaay off. I'm sorry, but no one can compare to Jayne Cobb/Adam Baldwin!  |

You could close your eyes and think it was evil watcher lady talking! In a way Dewitt does remind me of Giles; because she is the one in charge and Joss seems to have that staple British character in (almost) all of his shows. |

Olivia Williams (Adelle) SO could've played a watcher on Buffy, so yeah I guess I can see a comparison to Gwendolyn Post. The Boyd/Echo relationship is very Giles/Buffy-that's a given. I feel like Victor= Xander, Sierra= Willow. Is anyone else turned off by the Victor/Sierra ''relationship". Victor is cute, but I don't get any chemistry between them.
